Getting around

Als Hauptstadt ist sie vom Flughafen Schiphol aus sehr gut zu erreichen und mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen. Züge, Busse und Straßenbahnen bringen Sie auf effiziente Weise an Ihr Ziel. Noch besser für kurze Strecken und ein einheimisches Erlebnis ist natürlich mit dem Fahrrad!

Ron’s communication was outstanding and he waited patiently for our arrival as our train was delayed and the walk was slippery due to the weather. He explained how to use the keys and radiator/kitchen and recommended some location attractions.

The room was very roomy and comfortable and exactly as described.

The bed was comfortable, shower and refrigerator very good.

Plenty of power sockets and wifi was very good and reliable.

Highly recommended for location and friendliness.
The only tiny quibble was lugging our baggage up the half flight of steep stairs - only because we had been on the road so long so this is a nitpick!

We had six nights here over Christmas and really enjoyed how cosy, warm and comfortable the studio is. Beautifully decorated. Location is great. No cooktop but we managed ok with microwave, toaster and kettle. Peter is a great host. Fresh flower arrangements also added to making this a lovely stay and bed is so comfortable!
Really needs new towels in bathroom. Thin and quite hard. Don’t match the rest of the studio at all.

This place is a gem. We were really sad to leave. The studio has such beautiful decor and lighting, a super comfortable bed and everything you need to feel safe and at home. It was just a short walk from Amsterdam Central station on arrival and near so many beautiful sights and places in the City. We were welcomed on arrival and we couldn't have asked for more. 위치는 중앙역과 담광장과 걸어서 5분거리에 위치해서 편리했습니다.
엘리베이터가 없어서 짐때문에 불편했지만 큰 문제는 아니었고 요리를 할 수 있는 화구가 없어서 불편했지만 전자렌지와 커피머신 토스터기가 있어서 다행이었습니다

At first the communication was through the property managers, then with the direct contact. Both were responsive and helpful. They were accommodating of our schedule.
Kind and cordial.
The accommodation was as pictured and the kitchenette was a treat. The bed was comfortable and the multiple pillow plush levels was ideal!

We lucked out in finding this little hidden gem! The studio was the perfect spot for my daughter and I to rest and recharge after a busy day of sightseeing. The studio was spotless and has everything we needed; a great space, very comfortable bed, fridge and other essentials and is in a great neighborhood; walking distance to all the attractions in the city center, restaurants, cafes, as well as central station, yet completely quiet in the evenings. The Jordaan neighborhood is not to be missed! We had the pleasure of meeting Bas-Jan, the studio’s owner while going out to dinner one evening and he was just delightful.
Special thanks to Ron who assisted us at check-in after a long and difficult travel day. He welcomed us with tapas, fruit & cheese and he was just lovely, and always available. Thank you for going above and beyond! Great communication and we hope to return to Amsterdam in the not too distant future and once again stay at the lovely Studio Koggeschip.

Lovely space for 1-2 people. Very clean. Centrally located (though close to the touristy area, which can get rather busy), and it’s about a 15 minute walk from the central train station. The owner lives upstairs, which I was a bit unnerved by upon arrival (in that there’s a staircase connecting the two apartments, with a door between), but he has a separate entrance and I barely heard him during my stay. Very comfortable overall.

Peter was our local host and was so kind to help facilitate an earlier check in since our flight arrived in the early morning. He walked us through the logistics of our stay and provided local recommendations. The apartment was exactly as described and the decor and updates were top notch. As other reviews state, the nose from the alley can be rather loud at night, but it’s to be expected based on the area the apartment is located. But I don’t feel it affected our stay. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see in Amsterdam and it’s very close to central station. It is on the fridge of the red light district, so if this offends you then you’ve been warned. Ultimately I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Muy cerca de la estacion del tren y algunos sitios turisticos. La cafetera cuenta con capsulas. El anfitrion me ayudo en todo momento para llegar al departamento, me recibio para darme las llaves y algunas recomendaciones de la ciudad.

Absolut stilvolle und abgestimmte Einrichtung mit viel Liebe fürs Detail - wie auf den Fotos, sehr gemütliche Matratze, perfekte Ausstattung der Küche,, schickes Bad mit ausreichend Handtüchern, trotz zentraler Lage sehr ruhig. Der Preis ist jeden Cent wert. Peter als Host ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, spricht fließend englisch und deutsch, gibt sehr gute Empfehlungen für Ausflüge und Restaurants. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Location was PERFECT for walking to most major sights... Although we walked 5-10 miles a day, we never had to take public transportation--Perfect!
PLENTY of good restaurants and pubs close by! Restaurant MAX was delicious!
Bed was super comfortable, shower, while small, had plenty of water pressure...
The Nespresso coffee was really good!
A couple of downsides--lots of street and bar noise throughout the night--it is an older building in a big city...
Have to go up a flight of stairs, and being an older, quaint, fun building the stairs are quite steep and narrow...

Peter, the local host, was very responsive, kind and helpful. The location was perfect for us to walk and check out the city. The inside was clean and exactly as described in the listing. If you want to be in such a great spot you do have to deal with some noise, but this did not outweigh the benefits of the great location.

Logement très jolie et atypique, avec une belle décoration vintage. Salle de bain moderne, cuisine avec le nécessaire pour quelques jours ! Le lit est vraiment super confortable, je tiens à le souligner car c’est important ! La localisation est vraiment top, dans un quartier proche de tout et calme. Il y a des serviettes de bain et le lit est fait à votre arrivé avec de jolies draps ! Je recommande vraiment. Ron est super gentil et accueillant, la remise des clefs se fait facilement même avec notre petit niveau en anglais.

Great place. Warm, quiet and cozy during winter. The bed is super comfy and large. My wife and I were able to sleep in the bed whilst co sleeping with our baby with no issues. The shower is very clean and the sheets were clean too. The rear of the building faces a church and you have plenty of dark curtains to make the place private and dark during the night. The only downside is that there’s no stove if you want to cook your own breakfast but then you run the risk of making the place smelly or dirty. When we check out, Peter meets us at the apartment and gets straight to cleaning once we leave, so you can tell he takes great care in making sure his place is ready for guests. Great place and very well located. 5 mins walk to a restaurant for breakfast and 15 mins from the train station.

Beautiful, peaceful space in a wonderful location. Extremely comfortable bed and bed linens. The heating worked well, which was good news given the chilly and rainy weather!

Great attention to detail, like hooks and shelves for toiletry kits in the bathroom—something that’s surprisingly rare in non-owner-occupied spaces.

Peter is delightful and waited patiently for hours to check us in as the bomb cyclone caused a two hour Eurostar delay.

Hint for future guests: g maps led us a merry dance with routes through gated and locked alleyways. From Centraal, turn right out of the station and then take a left on Singel.

Other than having difficulty communicating with the manager at the entrance to the flat due to having out of country phone and having to wait to drop off luggage due to arriving in Amsterdam in A.M., check in went smoothly. Beautiful and comfortable flat right in the middle of everything. It was so nice to wake up to views of the stained glass windows of the church next door before stepping outside and being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of central Amsterdam. The apartment was well appointed with pretty much all you would need for a vacation stay. It is on the first floor which makes it reasonably easy to access. It was also really nice to stay in an apartment decorated with art nouveau objects and artwork displaying Amsterdam and its style.
There was nothing we did not like - the only suggestion would be a cooking hob, but what was provided - a microwave - was quite adequate.

Wir haben 4 Nächte in dieser schönen Unterkunft verbracht und hatten jederzeit einen schnellen Zugang zu der Stadt. Quasi direkt vor der Tür liegt die Singelgracht und Läden und Restaurants sind innerhalb von Minuten schnell zu erreichen. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist sehr großzügig, man findet alles was man braucht, bis auf einen Ofen mit Herdplatten, aber das hat uns die paar Tage nicht gestört.
Da die Küche direkt im Schlafzimmer liegt hört man nachts ab und zu den Kühlschrank aber daran gewöhnt man sich. Die Wände der Wohnung sind sehr dünn, weshalb man jedes Telefonat der Nachbarn mitbekommt und auch vom Treppenhaus her alles hört.
Alles in Allem war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in dieser besonderen Wohnung und Peter der uns Ein- und Ausgecheckt hat war super freundlich!

This studio is incredible! My husband and I were in Amsterdam briefly on our way back to the states and wanted something close to the train station in a quiet area. Bas-Jan’s place was perfect - 6 minute walk to the train station, close to so many restaurants, and the street is peaceful and quiet. Amsterdam - Giethoorn - Köln seyahatimizde kaldığımız en temiz, en otantik ve en rahat tesis burası idi. Mutfakta buzdolabı mevcut. Mutfak gereçlerinin hepsi var. Ayrıca sanırım psikosomatik bir şekilde Nespressonun yaptığı kahve burada çok güzeldi :) Banyo kullanım alanı olarak çok temizdi. İnternet hızı beklediğimizin üzerindeydi. Sessiz ve sakin bir tesis için kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.

This apartment is beautiful and has a wonderful view of the church next door. It was bigger than I expected and had everything we needed. The host Ron was fantastic and very responsive to any messages we sent.

The building is on a quiet street away from the noise and chaos of the tourist area but still within walking distance of everything. Less than 10 minutes to Centraal, 20 minutes to Anne Frank House, 30 to Van Gogh Museum and 5 to restaurants.

I would absolutely recommend this property and would stay again.

On arrival, we were met by Ron who let us into the apartment. He was very helpful and made some great recommendations to us! The apartment was in a great location, so close to shops, cafe's, and an easy walk to attractions such as Anne Frank's House. The apartment was decorated beautifully, and the bathroom was lovely! The bed was huge and was very comfortable. There were two big radiators so the apartment was nice and warm, and my boyfriend particularly enjoyed the coffee machine!
The apartment was a little loud, but nothing you wouldn't expect in a capital city!

Really clean and comfortable - the bed was super comfy. The shower was spacious and shampoo/shower gel were provided. There was a coffee maker and lots of little coffee pods and tea bags provided. Location was great, 10 mins to central station and all main areas within 20 minute walk
I emailed asking what was at the top of the stairs and was told it was the bathroom. When we arrived, the host told me the owner lives up there but the door remains locked. Disappointed to have been lied too. The apartment was also extremely noisy. Walls must have been very thin as we could hear lots of coughing or when someone else's door rang etc. Early morning was very noisy with people getting up etc too. Kitchen wise it would have been good to have a stove - there was only a microwave to heat anything so we couldn't cook

It was clean and very comfortable. The bed was especially conducive to a restful sleep and, in fact, was the most comfortable bed of our almost 3 weeks traveling in Europe. It had nice windows with views of a pretty church and beautiful flowers. it also had great curtains that blocked the light which also contributed to a great night’s sleep.
The only down side was it lacked a stovetop.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Bas-Jans beautiful apartment. The accommodations were exactly as the images depicted. Clean, spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We ended up eating outside most days so the fridge and kettle were enough. The nights and some days can be a bit less private with footsteps and light noise from neighbors but that was to be expected from the area. Everything was great! I was in contact with the host a few days in advance and arranged a time to meet. He was very friendly and even gave us some great tips for non-turistic areas to explore. The property was sparkling clean, great location (a few minutes walk from the train station), quiet and exactly like the photos. I would definitely recommend the studio if you are visiting Amsterdam.
Be aware that the stairs are narrow. It might be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

What an amazing little place!!
I was absolutely delighted to spend 2 nights in this gem in the heart of Amsterdam. The studio is beautifully decorated, perfectly clean, and it's in a perfect location close to the station and to lots of amenities.
I really appreciated finding everything I needed, including salt and pepper, washing up liquid, etc.
And Peter, the host, was absolutely delightful. He was very helpful from the start and allowed me to check in early and check out later than expected.
Pre-comms through WhatsApp were great.
100% recommended if you're staying in Amsterdam!!

The studio is lovely, the bed very comfortable, kitchenette is sufficient and bathroom clean and modern. Checking was great. Check out just as easy. Ron, my host, was extremely accommodating. Wide stairs to 1st floor easy to navigate. The studio is very bright, however, for sleeping, would be improved if it had shades for the windows.
No ‘cons’, but be aware that it is close to “red light“ activity and therefore some street activity. Certainly Not a perceived danger but definitely subject to late night (drunken) yelling in an otherwise quiet corner.
All said, I was very happy and would recommend the studio for your visit.

Lage, Lage, Lage... Die Unterkunft liegt ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hbf entfernt und auch sonst sehr zentral, trotzdem ist es am Abend sehr ruhig.
Die Küche ist nicht voll ausgestattet, wie es beworben wird! Es gibt keinen Herd und keine Möglichkeit zu kochen, lediglich einen Mikrowelle wäre zum warm machen von Speisen vorhanden. Das Apartment ist sehr dunkel.

This is an attractive studio in a terrific location. Bathroom is updated which is always a plus for me. Check in was easy. Location can not be beat - the gorgeous canal belt, the transportation hub at Centraal Station and tons of shops and restaurants surround the flat.

This is a great place right smack-dab in the center of Amsterdam. Its walking distance from lots of different shops and sight-seeing. The area is very pretty. Its right next to a gorgeous cathedral, too, and on Christmas Eve I heard the most angelic singing! However, since it is in such a central location there is a lot of noise late at night/in the early morning. There were a couple of times groups of drunk British people would be yelling right outside our window. There's a completely closed in, stand-up shower, which is pretty rare in Europe. The room is absolutely gorgeous and has a nice big bed. Our check in and out experience with Peter was great and he was extremely friendly.

We stayed here for a few days for a long weekend in Amsterdam and, although we have visited several times before, both agreed this was the best located apartment we've stayed in. Beautifully decorated and well equipped, there was more space in the apartment than the photos suggest. The street is nice and quiet, despite being in such a busy area. We were greeted on check in with a wonderful welcome and check out was face to face as well, so no issues with either. Peter couldn't have been more helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if it was available on a future visit.

This place is a gem for a reason! The apartment is in a perfect location just a block in any given direction from shops, restaurants and the like while still providing a local feel to where you are staying. I arrived by train and although it is only a 5 min walk from Amsterdam Centraal I got a bit turned around. The host called and met me, guided me to the apartment, got me settled in and was on his way! The place was clean, quiet and perfect for my needs. The apartment is a perfect mix of antique furnishings mixed with modern amenities. Your view is of an old church behind the building, that is still in use and you get to hear the choir practice in the evenings if you’re lucky. The building also boasts the most amazing Italian restaurant down below which is a must try! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

As all previous reviews, stunning location and large space especially for Amsterdam. Very clean with an up to date bathroom. We made use of the toaster and fridge. Unfortunately we did have noise each morning luckily we are early risers but a lorry for two mornings and bin day is Tuesday... We hired bikes and were able to lock them in the bike shed so felt happier than leaving them outside. Peter who check us in and out was delightful and felt gutted he hadn’t told us that the water was the best to drink and we could have saved ourselves some pennies not buying it... next time Peter :-)

The host was lovely and communicated well,made us feel really at ease and gave us loads of information and tips for around the location- which also was 100% what we were looking for!! The hotel location (central Amsterdam) was perfect for us,we managed to do everything we wanted all in a 6-10 minute walk if not closer sometimes to museums, variety or restaurants,tourist attractions, canal rides and coffee shops! Spent 3 nights in this very sweet studio in the heart of Amsterdam. The Jordaan is a wonderful area with amazing people and culture. The studio is located on a nice side street, close to anything you might need. It is tastefully decorated, and up only one fight of stairs! It is safe, and secure... and the windows keep out any noise from the people on streets.
Our hosts very very kind, allowing an early check in, providing supplies for coffee and showing us around the studio and amenities.
We had a great time and would recommend the studio for anyone traveling to Amsterdam who wants to be in the center of the city!

The apartment is really very comfortable. In an optimal position for those who want to visit the city by walking or by public transport. The room is very large and comfortable, complete with every service that can be useful in a short vacation, but unfortunately the bed is a queen size: to make it perfect it could be replaced with a king size bed.
The area is very quiet and in a very picturesque neighborhood, next to one of the beautiful canals of Amsterdam and also very close to the Central Station. Overall I am very convinced to say that this apartment is super recommended.

We spent a few days in Amsterdam and we chose this studio instead of a hotel room. What a great decision!

The studio is perfectly situated, near De Joordan, Dam Square or Central Staation, it is very confortable and deliciously decorated. If you enjoy art and real furniture, you found the place for your city trip.

L’appartement, situé en plein coeur de la ville, est magnifique, décoré avec goût et très bien équipé. On regrette seulement l’absence de plaques de cuisson et de volets, et les fenêtres laissent un peu trop passer les bruits de la rue. A part ça, c’est un excellent logement recommandable à tous points de vue. Ron, qui en est responsable, est arrangeant et sympathique, tout comme l’équipe de rental valley.

La déco est sympas et le studio est calme, bien équipé et très propre. L’équipe qui gère l’accueil est sympas et communique facilement. Je recommande vivement ! Petite précision, pour les amateurs d’obscurité totale pour dormir, équipez-vous d’un masque pour les yeux.

Perfect location only 5 minutes from Centraal station. Located in an excellent old part of Amsterdam, lot of history around you. Very easy to walk to the major attractions. Great shopping, drinking and eating within easy access. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Accommodation was perfect for a couple, clean, tidy and comfortable. I would stay here again.

We loved our time at Studio Koggeschip. Amsterdam is such a cornucopia of delights for fans of art and architecture, and it was really cool living in this Art Nouveau environment for a few days. Very convenient to our arrival by train, and for walking to anywhere we wanted to go. All comforts in place-- good reading lights, comfortable bed and bathroom, lots of hangars-- great!

We couldn't fault this apartment & would highly recommend it to anyone.
It's gorgeously decorated, situated close to the station & lots of sights and was impeccably clean.
The apartment itself is clearly newly decorated & has a retro, artsy feel to it. You need to like green! but it is totally gorgeous - it has the wow factor when you walk in. I genuinely can't overstate how beautiful it is.
Everything is in one room, the bedroom, dining room, kitchen etc, expect for the shower room /toilet. The kitchen has a coffee maker, microwave, fridge & kettle. The TV shows lots if English speaking channels & has Netflix. There are two large comfy chairs, and a small table & chairs in the apartment so you don't have to sit on the bed. Behind the bed head is an extension cable so lots of sockets to put your electronics into. There was shampoo & shower gel in the shower when we arrived, which is handy if you travel with hand luggage only.
The bed's mattress was quite firm. I still found it very comfortable but my partner didn't, he didn't sleep well on it. The curtains are also very thin so I needed to wear an eye mask as the daylight soon streamed in, even in March.
We couldn't have asked for a better location for the apartment. It's on the first floor at the rear of a large block so was really quiet. There are eateries a stone's throw away and we had a lovely meal at Sapor Italiano, which is at the end of the street. The train station, which takes you straight to airport etc, is only about a ten minute walk away. Anne Frank's, the tulip museum, Those Dam Boat Guys etc is equally as convenient, all about 15 mins walk away. Basically you're within walking distance of lots to see & do and right in the centre of all the beautiful canals & bridges.
Initially all communication was with a rental agency so the personal touch was missing. They couldn't answer some questions about the apartment & other times answered differently because they were not the host. This was a shame but once we started to communicate directly with Peter, an associate of the owner, the experience improved. Peter was chatty, friendly & helpful. He met us in person when we arrived & checked us out. He very kindly allowed us to leave our bags in the apartment beyond checkout, whilst he cleaned, so we could go the Anne Frank's before we left.
When we go back to Amsterdam again we would definitely look to return to this apartment. Thank you!

A nice studio apartment just back from one of the canals. A perfect location for nightlife, great food and drinks. Some small restaurants just up the road are fantastic.
