Newly refurbished 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the swimming pool area at the Baia da luz resort
The space
Find all the comfort and luxury in this great 2 floor apartment situated at the resort Baia da Luz in the popular beach town Praia da Luz. Architecturally, the resort was designed with Arab influences, in a Roman style, being divided into 3 buildings, which form a pleasant feeling of an inner village.
The apartment is divided in two floors. On the entrance floor you will find the living area and fully equipped kitchen and the bathroom. All a high quality finish, with modern equipment and accessories, including TV, AC in all the rooms, electric window locking system. Giving access to a big private balcony in front and a semi shared terrace on the back.
On the second floor you will find a big space with 2 single beds and storage room. Also a sleeping sofa which provides two extra sleeping places.

The apartment is nextdoor of The Italian Alloro restaurant, enjoys a view over the pool, leisure areas and a garden area. For those interested in Golf, there are 4 Golf courses nearby, in a space of 5 to 20 minutes by car.

The neighborhood
Praia da Luz is a small resort town located on the incredible Algarve coastline 10km west of Lagos. Praia da Luz or just Luz, was originally a small fishing village on the edge of sandy bay surrounded by cliffs. This sandy bay sheltered by cliffs means it’s a perfect family beach destination. Although the town is now more of a holiday resort it still retains some of the original features from its historical past. The bigger town Lagos is less than 10 minutes' drive away and in the other direction, you will find many small beach towns and breathtaking beaches. Perfect for family, beach and watersport (surf) trips.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours. You can walk into town and the beach from the apartment
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.

Wifi upstairs in bedroom does not work, phone reception was very good so used hotspot when needed, I have been to a different the pool apartment before and it was the same. FYI cost was about 1000 more than I paid in 2023 for a similar apartment for one day less.

The apartment had lots of space. Very well decorated, nice and modern. The upstairs bedroom had a couch that also folds into a bed. The pool area is very relaxing and the water was heated. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony over looking the pool. Nice and quiet too.
The entrance to the apartment is out onto a car park where there are camper vans parked at night. We had no issues but did put me on edge at times.

We had a fantastic stay! The flat was spacious and very comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day out. The pool was a great bonus, and the beach was just a short walk away. We especially loved the nearby cliff walk with its breathtaking views, and the family surf school was a big hit with the kids. There were also some delicious restaurants right by the beach — great food with a grey view. Would definitely come back!
Communication was great and very late check in was possible as well.

We stayed in the apartment at the end of October and thoroughly enjoyed it. The heated pool, the proximity to the beautiful beach and the charming village restaurants are a big plus. This is an ideal base for exploring the Algarve by car or on foot. You can start hiking right from the doorstep—no car needed.
The apartment is bright and spacious. The only downside is that the windows in the upper room can’t be opened. A perfect stay!

Beautiful 2 floor condo located perfectly in the Baia da Luz complex with one of the best balcony looking into the adult pool area while having direct access to the Alloro italian restaurant. Felt right at home and secure upon our arrival. Loved the 2 balconies, big bedroom and direct access to the pool. A few minute walking distance to Praia da Luz amazing beach and restaurants. Quiet area to relax while enjoying the beauty of the Algarves!

The sofa bed is broken and could not be used. The main part of the sofa bed is completely cracked in half. Everyone had to sleep in the same room.
Also broken dining room chairs meant no family meals, missing linens and towels, and missing soap despite being listed as an amenity. Host wasn’t helpful with resolving issues.

The luz beach is a 10 min walk away and is a lovely beach.
The apartment is located on floors 1 and 2 with balaconies on both sides. There are two pools, which are very well maintained. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay!

Un séjour au top. La résidence était géniale, tout était bien pensé pour une famille. Nous avons bien profité des piscines familiales avec notre bébé de 1 an. De la terrasse le soir au calme. De la mer à 5min à pied de l'appartement. Les gens sont respectueux et le personnel de la résidence d'une grande gentillesse. Je recommande fortement. L'appartement lui est lumineux, équipé de la climatisation, bien pensé et avec un bon équipement !

Very nice accommodation! Big and tidy rooms, cosy bed and a clean kitchen with all you need for a few days! Two terraces and the pool is just down the stairs!

Piękne apartamenty w super lokalizacji. Blisko zarówno do paru smacznych restauracji jak i do morza. Przed apartamentami duży, darmowy parking. Ładne, zadbane baseny. Na miejscu czekało na nas wino, co było miłym gestem.
1. Przedsiębiorstwo wynajmujące apartament zażyczyło sobie (dwa tygodnie przed pierwszym noclegiem, czyli dokładnie moment po upływie daty możliwości darmowego odwołania rezerwacji!) wpłaty kaucji. Uważam, że to czysta kpina. W ofercie nigdzie nie zaznaczono, że kaucja jest wymagana. Kaucja miała być wpłacona na zewnętrznym portalu (czyli nie przez booking!).
Po skontaktowaniu się z wynajmującym zaproponowano mi - jako alternatywę dla kaucji - napisanie dokumentu, w którym zobowiązuje się „do pokrycia wszystkich szkód”, które spowoduje. Nawiasem dodam, że na miejscu nikt nie zechciał odebrać tego „przyrzeczenia”.
2. Warto wiedzieć, że apartamenty obsługiwane są przez firmę niezależną od hotelu Baia da Luz. W konsekwencji recepcja nie udzieli jakiejkolwiek informacji związanej z apartamentem, nie odpowie na pytanie czy apartament jest gotowy oraz nie bierze odpowiedzialności za pobyt w apartamencie.
3. W obiekcie było wiele „niedociągnięć”: odpadająca rurka na ręczniki w łazience, niedomykająca się kanapa, zepsuty przycisk spłuczki. Drobnostki, aczkolwiek z uwagi na próbę uzyskania od klientów kaucji, która dodatkowo nie jest autoryzowana przez booking, radziłabym wszystko dokładnie sprawdzić i sfotografować.

We are a family of four adults. We had a great stay. Very clean apartment and very nice beach not too far, about 10 minutes walk. Beautiful pools and a nice restaurant rice beside the pool area. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The only but I can give is that the sofa down was a bit uncomfortable, I believe because it’s broken and the sofa bed upstairs a bit hard. Thank you very much. We had a wonderful stay. I definitely recommend it.

Baia is an excellent resort, superb facilities and excellent staff. The property and pool area are very well maintained and the attached restaurant does good pizza, pasta and pool snacks.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. L’appartement est parfaitement équipé. Il se trouve dans une très jolie résidence, au calme, avec deux piscines (dont une réservée aux adultes uniquement), et un restaurant/ bar à côté, ce qui est appréciable pour prendre un verre et/ou à manger lorsqu’on est à la piscine.

Ruim appartement met gezellig zwembad voor de deur en uitzicht. Dichtbij centrum en makkelijk parkeren.
Er kon geen raam open in de slaapkamer waardoor we beneden moesten luchten. Airco stond daardoor aan terwijl dit niet had gehoeven als we konden luchten.
Eén dag hadden we wel overlast van muziek bij het zwembad en dat klinkt dan heel erg door. Andere dagen was het heerlijk rustig maar je kan dus ook pech hebben als dit je hele vakantie gebeurt.

Horrific company, we arrived to an apartment with no electricity, pitch black at 5pm, all blinds closed completely and no way to open them because they are electric. We called rental Valley and they expected us to fix the problem. Customer service was awful. After two hours trying to sort it out in the pitch dark, no maintenance was available and they finally offered us a far smaller and inferior apartment where our young child has no bed to sleep and has to sleep on the sofa on a different floor than us, terrifying for him. Also no blinds so he can’t fall asleep and then wakes up at 5am and we are all exhausted. And we have to climb up and down to another floor to use the toilet, the original apartment we booked had proper blinds, all on one floor and was 2 bd 2 ba. There were other two bed two bath apartments like the one we had booked in the complex but they refused to move us to one of those and we were forced to move into the 1 bed 1 bath. It is completely unacceptable to offer an apartment that is not habitable with no electricity, and then refuse to put us in a similar apartment when they are available. we had a three nights day and our holiday was completely ruined. It was extremely stressful dealing with all this with an exhausted young child after a long journey, We travel very often in the past 20 years and this has been our worst experience.

Appartement très bien situé, à 5 minutes à pied de la plage de Luz et à 10 minutes de deux supermarchés. De nombreux restaurants se trouvent également à proximité. Il est très bien équipé (lave vaisselle, lave linge, micro ondes, machine à café, grande smart TV, climatisation, etc. Un grand parking est également à disposition : nous n'avons eu aucun problème pour nous garer tout au long de notre séjour
L'appartement se situe dans un complexe très bien entretenu : nettoyage quotidien des parties communes et des deux piscines ainsi que désinfection des chaises longues tout au long de la journée par deux employées de l'hôtel.
Un restaurant italien et un bar se trouvent également sur place : bonne cuisine et prix abordables.
Pas de remplacement de serviettes pendant notre séjour de deux semaines.
Frigo vide à notre arrivée (certaines agences prévoient un petit quelque chose pour le jour d'arrivée de leurs clients). Mais rien de très grave compte tenu de la qualité du lieu.
L'appartement se situe dans un complexe très bien entretenu : nettoyage quotidien des parties communes et des deux piscines ainsi que désinfection des chaises longues tout au long de la journée par deux employées de l'hôtel.

We stayed one week in Baia da Luz. Our friend picked up the keys, to make things easier for everybody because we arrived late at night. The next day we told them about a broken shower rail and Sofa. They wrote they try to fix it, but nothing happened.
There was nobody coming in person to give us some instructions and go through damages that were already there. We were just told in the regulations we have to pay for damages.
After I mentioned some broken pieces I was just told to make a list and send photos. This would have been the moment to appear in person from side of rental valley.
The beds, as well as the pillow and bedcover were the cheapest quality one can get. The nights were horrible.
Windows in the bedroom cannot be opened and in the regulations we got we were asked to turn off the aircondition during the night. One can imagine the quality of sleep.
Some further issues regarding the pool were pushed to responsibility of Baia da Luz.
They generally were really friendly, but at the end they did not try to solve any problems.
We are definitely not coming again.
