The neighborhood
Not only does CasAmar at Villa Gaivota offer a beautiful and comfortable stay, but it also boasts a prime location next to one of the best beaches in the region - Caneiros. This stunning beach is home to Rei das Praias, a renowned restaurant that serves up some of the most delicious food around. Guests can enjoy a day on the beach soaking up the sun and swimming in the clear waters, followed by a meal at the highly acclaimed restaurant. It's the perfect way to spend a day in Ferragudo, and it's all just steps away from CasAmar. With so much to see and do, CasAmar is the perfect base for your vacation in Portugal.
Inserted in a beautiful private condominium, with large and pleasant landscaped gardens, which embellish the scenery and invite you to the promenade and other outdoor activities, located just a minutes walk from the beautiful "Praia dos Caneiros" as well as within walking distance of Pintadinho and Mole beach.
It's a 2 minutes drive from the center of charming Ferragudo and about a 5-minute drive from the city of Portimão. So wether you prefer the charm of a small town or the amenities of the big city, you can have it both! Beach resort town Carvoeiro is also just around the corner.
Getting around
From Faro airport you can get to the house in 50 minutes by car and 90 by public transport. The beach is within walking distance.
Public transport is available in the general area, but if you wish to explore a bit, a (rental) car is highly recommended. There is plenty of free parking space available around the house + 1 dedicated parking spot underneath the carport of the house.

Location and accommodation were great. The problem was poor management, especially for families. We had arranged, and double checked, that there was a baby cot and high chair for our toddler. We arrived to find A) no high chair, and B) the cot was missing a piece, specifically the slats for the bottom. Anyone whose used a travel baby cot knows that without those bottom slats, the toddler can't really sleep properly, as the whole bottom caves in. The high chair was finally delivered on our last night, after our toddler had gone to bed...so he got to use it exactly once, for breakfast the last morning.
It's a shame, as these small things just shouldn't happen, or at least should get fixed quickly.

Check in details are not clear and company was not forthcoming as we had to email to clarify. Kept getting fishing messages with them which made the process tricky and unclear too. Not enough towels for our guest number and no linen provided for the sofa bed. On the day of check in we could not locate the property as it's in a huge complex with many many units and townhouses and no response from the company until later that night. Very strict on check in time at 4pm and must leave at 10am. Felt impersonal with a 'company' overseeing the accommodation.

Die beiden Terrassen waren nicht gerade sauber, die Möbel teilweise kaputt oder verschmutzt. Außerdem hatten wir am Wochenende Probleme mit dem Strom und mussten immer wieder die Sicherung einschalten. Wir haben das Problem gemeldet, bekamen aber keine Antwort.

There were 5 of us but there was bedding and towels only for 4 people. That was annoying and since we’re there only for a few days with a busy agenda we didn’t have time to ask for more. The kitchen had 2 lovely coffee machines but no pods even for the first morning. Having landed really late and travelled a lot, it would have been nice to be able to make a coffee when we woke up on the first morning.
The downstairs terrace seemed to have a lot of clutter, a dog bed, an old kitchen counter etc. could be cleaned up. One of the chairs was coming apart, the gutter was coming out from the wall.

Además caminando (5 minutos) puedes ir a Praia do Torrado, una cala maravillosa entre acantilados.
El alojamiento está muy limpio, muy bien cuidado y da gusto estar.
Desde nuestro alojamiento no se veía el mar.

Das Haus ist für einen Familienurlaub wie geschaffen. Schöne Dachterrasse, Parkplatz am Haus, der nächste Strand ist zu Fuß erreichbar.
Aufgrund der ruhigen und abgeschiedenen Lage ist ein (Miet-)Auto eigentlich zwingend erforderlich.
Im Vorfeld haben wir die detaillierten Zugangsdaten zum Haus mit Code für die Schlüsselbox an der Tür erhalten.
Allerdings haben wir uns schwer getan, das Haus in der Siedlung zu finden, aber nachher dann festgestellt, dass Google die Hausnummer sogar anzeigt ;-)

Die Lage des Hauses war für uns sehr gut. An Ausstattung war alles wie beschrieben vorhanden.
Verbesserungswürdig: Die Waschbecken in den Bädern sind ohne Siphon installiert. Deswegen stinken die Badezimmer nach Abfluss.
Der Abfluss einer Dusche war verstopft und wir mussten ihn erst mal reinigen. Die Anschlüsse der Duschen sind undicht. Ein Duschschlauch ist defekt, ein anderer war schimmelig. Das WC im EG ist wegen zu großem Waschbecken fast nicht nutzbar. Die Betten sind sehr hart (tlw. Brett statt Lattenrost). Das Laminat hat diverse Stoßkanten. Bei starkem Regen läuft Wasser aus einer Verankerung des Handlaufs. Im Schlafzimmer lagen Fußnägel. Der Staubsaugerbeutel war übervoll. An den Stühlen um den Tisch fehlen Schrauben. Von drei Sonnenliegen war eine unnutzbar. Auf dem angebotenen Parkplatz stand bereits ein Wagen.

The villa is spacious and well equipped. It has all the necessary kitchen utensils, and a big fridge. WIFI is strong and covers the whole house including the bedrooms. AC works well and is quiet. There are three terraces, and from one of the bedrooms you can even see the ocean.
What could be improved is the sun loungers that are old and uncomfortable, and giving the clients more bed linen for longer stays. We stayed for 40 days and to get a new set of linen the company suggested to pay 70 euros extra fee. Also, there was the owner's car parked at the property, which was inconvenient.

The kitchen was spacious and had the necessities to prepare homemade meals.
The home is a bit tricky to find at first if using map apps.

In der Beschreibung stand dass es ein Kinderbett und Kinderstuhl gibt, haben wir aber nicht gefunden. Wir sind so zurecht gekommen.
