The space
Dutch tradition and modern living come together in our Volendam Old Bridge Residence. Your stylishly decorated private room with private ensuite bathroom is located in a guesthouse with six private rooms in total. All our rooms are modern and light and have a comfortable large double bed and a luxury ensuite bathroom. Each room has coffee and tea facilities.
The guesthouse is located right next to the famous Volendam harbour. Just walk out of the front door and you will be in the middle of everything this traditional Dutch town has to offer. Supermarkets and other shops are just a few minutes walk away.
➤ Please note that this apartment is located above a bar in a lively street. Where it is possible to sit inside and outside. This can be a bit noisy at times.

The neighborhood
Volendam is famous for the traditional Dutch folklore that is still very visible here. Although majority of it is now catered towards tourism, you should not be surprised to see locals pass by in traditional dress and fishing is still a big part of the income for this community.
You will be able to enjoy this folklore while visiting the harbour, the museums and churches.
From Volendam it is only a short way to Amsterdam and Alkmaar if you want to enjoy some city life and to other smaller Dutch towns that are located on the Markemeer and Ijsselmeer lakes such as Marken, Enkhuizen and Hoorn. Or how about a day trip to one of the Dutch islands? It is the perfect location to experience many of the aspects that Dutch culture has to offer.
Getting around
From Schiphol, take the train to Amsterdam Central Station. From Amsterdam Central Station there is a direct bus to Volendam that take about 30 minutes and goes regularly from early morning to late evening.

Grave inconveniente. Arriviamo nella nostra camera e c’erano già altre persone . Lo staff si è dato da fare per risolvere il problema ma se ne sono andate 2 ore , in pratica persa la prima sera visto che siamo arrivati tardi

Pouco antes da hora do check in, recebemos os códigos de entrada no alojamento o que possibilitou um check in rápido e prático.
Disponibiliza maquina de café com cápsulas, chaleira elétrica, chá e utensílios de higiene.
Tem um bar por baixo e outro em frente com ambientes agradáveis. Na noite de sexta houve festa até às 2h. Ouve se bastante o barulho no quarto.

The only thing,there is no parking on the road but there is parkings 6-8 min from the appartement but you can enjoy the coloured house on your walk.

Outside door lock needs checking. Clearer information on parking would be really helpful, eventually figured out the blue zone system and moved the car to free parking about 5-10 minutes walk away. Arrived at night so didn't get a ticket during that time. The email alsowmimplied someone would be there for check in. We were delayed so apologised but rushed to get there. Ait was self check in so no need to rush as nobody was waiting, this could have been made clear. The listing also says hotel but it's actually a holiday rental, not a problem but again could be made clear.

De kroegen in de om geving maakte veel lawaai waardoor we de ramen dicht moesten doen maar helaas was er geen airco op de kamer en dat was een tegenvaller anders was het top geweest maar we waren beste tevreden.

Personnel de propreté très agréable.
Le bruit de la musique et des gens qui parlent fort en fin d'après midi et jusqu'à tard dans la nuit provenant des bars juste en dessous du logement. Vraiment gênant !

Il pomeriggio dell'arrivo (in piena estate) abbiamo trovato la camera molto calda e quindi poco accogliente. La prima notte abbiamo dormito con il ventilatore accesso. Bastava tenere chiuse le tende delle due finestre su cui batte il sole tutto il pomeriggio e lasciare qualche finestra aperta. Noi abbiamo avuto la camera al secondo piano (mansarda) dove si accumula il calore assorbito dall'intero edificio durante il giorno. Chiaramente sono strutture non concepite per il periodo caldo, estivo. Il servizio viene a giorni alterni per cambiare solo le asciugamani, non pulisce, non svuota i cestini.

Leider war die wunderschöne, zentrale Lage gleichzeitig auch ein Wecker. Morgens gegen 7 oder 8 Uhr werden die umliegenden Lokalitäten beliefert. Außerdem ist das Haus eher hellhörig, sodass zufallende Türen schnell aufwecken.

Leider wie schön öfters beschrieben ist es in dem Gaus, der Straße und generell in dem Bereich Abends sehr belebt. 1 von 5 war es etwas lauter aber es war in Ordnung.

Jammer dat er geen receptie is, of contact met personen, via een bericht krijg je codes om binnen te komen. We hadden een kamer boven. Hier was geen airco aanwezig helaas. De kamer is erg gehorig en weinig verduistering

This is a typical old Dutch house with narrow stairs located in a bar street of Voldendam. No chance to escape from loud bass, music and party people even with closed windows. The party was already in full swing during the day and ended only at 2:30am. In case you're sensitive to noises this might be a challenge.
