The space
Enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay in our charming home, just a short walk from the stunning North Sea coast. The spacious, open-concept layout of the kitchen, dining room, and living room allows you to share every moment with loved ones. Large windows offer beautiful views over the village meadow, making this a peaceful retreat.
We’ve thought of the little ones too! The house is equipped with plenty of toys, two sizes of travel cots, a Stokke high chair, and safety gates at the stairs. Upstairs, you’ll find two cozy bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower and bath overlooking the meadow, and a separate toilet. The first bedroom features a spacious double bed (180x200), while the second has two single beds (80x200).
The fully equipped kitchen includes two combi-ovens and a large stove with a wok burner, ideal for preparing meals.

The neighborhood

Getting around
Wijk aan Zee is easily accessible by car—just a 20-minute drive from Schiphol Airport. If you’re using public transport, the journey takes around 80 minutes. Take the train from Amsterdam to Beverwijk, then hop on bus 78, which will drop you off near Wijkiki Beach House.

There also was a broken pipe I guess as we had water dripping from the ceiling to our shoes, leaving them soaked. That can happen and they responded real quick - I hope it gets fixed. However the dog topic I did not like and bothered me a lot.
Overall the house is cute, walkable distance to the beach and to supermarket.

Eigentlich hätte ich gerne 5 Sterne gegeben, allerdings fehlte mir die Info, dass Hunde nicht in die erste Etage dürfen ( hätte mal mehr als zwei Bewertungen lesen sollen) . Da unser Hund immer bei uns ist und normalerweise neben dem Bett schläft war das keine schöne Situation für uns und ich hätte das Haus mit der Info nicht gebucht. Damit der Hund nicht die komplette Nacht weint und jammert hat nun immer einer von uns auf der Couch schlafen müssen, was das Wochenende etwas unentspannt gemacht hat. Die Info gehört unbedingt in die Beschreibung der Unterkunft.

Vom nächsten Ort kann man auch super mit der Bahn nach Amsterdam fahren.
Besonders die offene Küche ist total toll. Wir hatten eine gute Zeit.

Leider gab es vorab keinerlei Kommunikation, dass unser Hund im gesamten 1.OG und damit auch im Badezimmer nicht erlaubt ist. Auf meine erste Anfrage, ob Hunde erlaubt seien, antwortete mir Rental Valley "Hunde seien herzlich willkommen". Allerdings ohne jegliche Einschränkung.
Wir hätten die Unterkunft mit dem Wissen, dass Hunde im 1.OG nicht erlaubt sind (die aufgeklebten Zeichen, sind auf den Bildern der Annonce nicht enthalten), nicht gebucht und/oder die Buchung sofort storniert.
Das Haus ansich ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf in den nächsten Jahren Renovierungsmaßnahmen (z.b. Fussboden im Eingansbereich).
Eine Waschmaschine/Trockner befinden sich im Shared Space mit der Nachbarin. Auch das wurde so nicht erwähnt.
Während Fragen schnell beantwortet wurden, hat mir das Auslassen von Infos nicht gefallen.

We would like to respectfully respond to your review.
First of all, dogs are more than welcome in our home, with the exception of the upstairs area where the bedrooms are located. There are clear signs indicating this rule to avoid any misunderstandings. We are dog lovers ourselves and even have two small dogs.
After your check-out, our cleaning team discovered that your dog had been on the upstairs floor. This resulted in a significant amount of dog hair in the rooms and on the beds, which led to additional cleaning work. Consequently, we had to wash everything twice, and this incurred extra cleaning costs, which you unfortunately refused to pay.
During your stay, you informed us that you were enjoying your time with your family and that you were satisfied with the accommodations, so the additional remarks you have mentioned now appear to stem from frustration following our message regarding the cleaning charges.
We are honestly very disappointed and feel it is unfair that you have reacted in this manner and left this review.

Bushalte vlak bij als je wil winkelen in Haarlem.

Hartelijk dank dat u de tijd heeft genomen om uw ervaringen met ons te delen. We zijn blij te horen dat u het huisje gezellig vond en dat u heeft genoten van uw tijd in Haarlem.
Daarom waren we een beetje verrast door de 3-sterrenbeoordeling, aangezien u de meeste onderdelen met 4 of 5 sterren heeft gewaardeerd. Alleen de locatie kreeg een 3-sterrenbeoordeling. Het huisje ligt inderdaad vlakbij het strand, ideaal voor een wandeling, en er is een bushalte in de buurt waarmee u snel en gemakkelijk naar steden zoals Haarlem kunt reizen en kunt genieten van het stadsleven.
Nogmaals bedankt dat u bij ons verbleef, en we hopen u in de toekomst weer te mogen verwelkomen!

Das Haus war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Küche war mit allerlei Utensilien ausgestattet. Außerdem befand sich im Wohnzimmer eine Kiste mit sämtlichen Spielsachen für Kleinkinder, worüber sich mein 2 jähriger Sohn sehr gefreut hat ! Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin verlief völlig reibungslos und zügig.
Wir reisten zusätzlich mit einem Hund. Leider durfte dieser sich nur in der unteren Etage aufhalten.
Ein- und Auschecken erfolgt über eine Schlüsselbox und ist einfach erklärt. Allerdings empfanden wir die Auscheckzeit von 10 Uhr etwas zu früh.

Der WC-und Badbereich ist eng, die Waschbecken sehr klein. Die Badewannen-Armatur funktionierte nicht. Die Fenster ließen sich nur schwer öffnen bzw. schließen.
Insgesamt machte das Haus einen etwas abgewohnten Eindruck.
Was allerdings sehr störend war und uns überhaupt nicht gefallen hat: Mit kurzer E-Mail wurde ein Maler angekündigt, der an zwei aufeinander folgenden Tagen die Haustür strich und mit einem Schlüssel kompletten Zugang hatte. Zudem waren die Lackausdunstungen sehr aufdringlich und es musste entsprechend lange gelüftet werden.
Aufgrund dieser Punkte sehen wir den Mietpreis als zu hoch an.

Het huis staat op een goede locatie voor het strand, selectie van restaurants en voor openbaar vervoer naar Amsterdam.
Maar de weg voor het huis is druk en luidruchtig van vroeg tot laat (slaapkamer aan de voorkant), de buren praten hard om 6 uur 'smorgens (slaapkamers achter).
Het bad en de douche zijn groot, maar een badmatje zou geen luxe zijn geweest. Gelukkig heb ik altijd extra handdoeken bij me, die ik al badmat heb gebruikt. De wastafel is wel erg klein in de badkamer. Wat ik ook een beetje raar vond, dat er alleen een toilet boven is en niet beneden.
De wifi was erg slecht, gelukkig haden we mooi weer dus waren we meer buiten dan binnen. Leuke woning, maar er missen wat aandachtspunten voor de prijs .

2 Kleinigkeiten: Der Wasserhahn im Bad war locker. Des Weiteren könnten die Backbleche erneuert werden. Davon abgesehen war der gesamte Wohnbereich sehr sauber und wir haben uns direkt heimisch gefühlt.

La maison est super proche de la plage (où vous pouvez emmener votre chien). Sur la plage, vous trouverez plusieurs restaurants et cafés. À 50 mètres de la maison, il y a une petite épicerie qui a tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour des achats rapides : boulangerie, charcuterie, plats préparés, produits de nettoyage, etc.
En face de la maison, vous pourrez profiter d'une belle vue, dans un quartier très calme et avec des gens très sympathiques. Le parking est à 10 mètres de la maison (et c'est gratuit). La maison est équipée de tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour cuisiner, nettoyer et vous divertir (même des services de streaming, du wifi et des jeux de société), vous avez besoin de rien de plus. Tout est très propre et spacieux. Elle se trouve à seulement 15 minutes en voiture d'Amsterdam, donc pas loin du tout.
En conclusion : Je le recommande à 100 %. Pour nous, c'était l'endroit parfait pour notre séjour.

Hätten wir gewusst, dass sich so viel Industrie in der Nähe des Ortes befindet, hätten wir dort nicht gebucht. Außerdem hätte das Objekt dringend von innen gestrichen werden müssen, alle Wände sahen katastrophal aus. Zwei Scheiben gerissen. Diverse Schubladen voll mit Material und Unterlagen der Besitzer.

In einem der beiden Schlafzimmer konnte man aufgrund des Verkehrs auf der angrenzenden Straße nur bedingt mit offenem Fenster schlafen.
In der Spülmaschine lagen leider Scherben.
Das Dachfenster über der Küchenzeile war undicht, sodass es bei Regen reingetropft hat.

When we arrived, we wanted to put our groceries away and we found a drawer that was full of dirt and old crumbs of food. The dishes weren't clean, so we wanted to put them into the dishwasher but there were shards of glass in there so we did it all by hand. The thermostat was set to 25°C and we weren't able to change it so we were sweating the whole time. In one of the decor vases, there was dirt and other things, like empty egg cartons. And on the couch by the window, there was a white stain on it. When we called you for help, for the thermostat, a woman came to the house just to tell us that we couldn't change anything. We were more than displeased. I attached some photos for you.

The house was in a good location for the beach, selection of restaurants and for public transport for a trip to Amsterdam.
However the road is busy and noisy from early, the neighbours and overflights.
We had a couple of cleaning issues which we have communicated separately about.
The wifi was very poor indeed, nothing other than the old favourite of 'turn it off and back on again' was offered as a solution.
We were thanked for reporting it so it might be fixed for a future guest? Well done us...

Mancava la lavatrice (ahimè indispensabile) mancava la finestra nel bagno dove sta il wc, la finestra del secondo bagno e di una camera non si chiudeva bene e quindi entrava aria fredda. Scale troppo ripide e scivolose. Vetro rotto coperto da una tavola da surf.

Wir fahren Regelmäßig nach wijk aan Zee und Mieten uns Häuser dort.
Das Beach house könnte man noch verbessern. Im Eingangsbereich fehlt auf jedenfall ein Spiegel.....
Leider sind die Matratzen in die Jahre gekommen sie sind leider sehr unbequem.
Es ist sehr schade man nicht mit der Zeit geht und das der Fernseher sehr klein ist und kein Netflix hat für regnerischen Abende vor dem Kamin.
Leider waren bei unseren Aufenthalt die Ausenmülltonnen , schon bis oben hin voll.
Vazit: Es ist ein liebevoll eingerichtet schönes Haus , mit vielen schönen Details.
Aber da wir vergleiche haben , geht es besser.

Het huis ligt aan een wat drukke straat waardoor je het verkeer hoort en het huis is gehorig. Echter deed dat geen afbreuk aan ons verblijf. We hebben reborn genoten van het huis en het strand op loopafstand.

The house is close to the street, so there was some noise, as it mentioned at previous reviews, but it didn't bother us that much.
The only down side was the internet connection. It was hard to work online.

verbracht. Der Ort ist klein aber für uns war die Nähe zum Strand wichtiger und hier war die Entfernung ok! Die Unterkunft liegt an einer viel befahrenen Straße und im Haus ist eine sehr steile Treppe ( sollte man mit Kindern wissen, ist aber von unserer Seite her kein Problem gewesen).
Leider war die
Kommunikation mit Rental Valley kurz vor und während des Aufenthalts nicht möglich - das ist ziemlich blöd gewesen. Und leider haben wir auch keine
Antwort bzgl. des Waschraums erhalten. Dieser war abgeschlossen und für uns nicht zugänglich, so wie scheinbar bei ein paar Vormietern vor uns. Mit Kindern ist eine Waschmöglichkeit schon wichtig und wenn diese nicht zugänglich gemacht werden kann, sollte nicht damit geworben werden.
Die Küche ist allerdings toll und sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir haben es uns schön gemacht und hatten einen schönen Urlaub!

Allerdings hat uns das Wohnviertel nicht sonderlich gefallen und wir hätten uns auch gerne etwas mehr Sauberkeit in der Unterkunft gewünscht (Badezimmer und Fußboden-vor allem mit krabbelndem Baby). Die Matratzen in einem der beiden Schlafzimmer sind sehr durchgelegen und gehören ausgetauscht. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Alles in allem war der Aufenthalt okay.

Das Erdgeschoss ist renoviert und im Industrial Look eingerichtet. Das Obergeschoss ist teilweise renoviert, so z. B. das einzige WC, das sich auf einem Quadratmeter unter der Treppe zum 2. OG befindet. Architektonisch clever, aber irgendwie unkomfortabel.
Leider waren die Matratzen in einem Zimmer ziemlich durchgelegen.
Wovon leider auf den Fotos nichts zu sehen ist, ist das Werk von Tata Steel in Wijk aan zee. Aus den Schornsteinen steigt weißer Rauch auf, der je nach Windrichtung auch in Richtung Unterkunft zieht und unangenehm riecht. Auch kam es vor, dass dort die halbe Nacht Stahl geschnitten wurde.
Man kann viel unternehmen in Nordholland, deshalb hatten wir einen schönen Urlaub, die Unterkunft selbst würden wir nicht mehr wählen.

Je moet 75 euro per nacht aan schoonmaak kosten betalen. Dat was voor onze 2 nachten dus 150 euro dat vond ik echt veel. Helemaal omdat het niet super schoon was. Ook is het dekbed erg dun het was dus echt koud s’nachts.

bieten alles was man für ein paar erholsame Tage braucht.Besonders mit Hunden ist die Gegend
Ideal da der schöne Strand
Nicht weit entfernt ist und
für Hunde ab 19Uhr freigegeben ist.
Wir waren allerdings auch schon früher mit unseren Fellnasen dort und es hat niemanden gestört.Das Gastgeberhaus hält was es verspricht und es hat alles reibungslos funktioniert.
Niederlande wird nun zukünftig immer wieder
ein Reiseziel für uns sein.

Wel wat mankementen/aandachtspunten; deuren en ramen die erg moeilijk open en dicht gingen; putje badkamer verstopt; veel keukengerei was vies en de vaatwasser stond vol toen we arriveerden; lekkage in de keuken bij het dakraam; Koffiezetapparaat deed het niet helemaal goed; geen gordijnen aanwezig in de slaapkamers;
10 uur ‘s ochtends uitchecken was wat vroeg.

Des Weiteren ist die Ausstattung besonders der Küche hervorzuheben. Hier hat nichts gefehlt.
Und auch unsre Tochter war begeistert von dem ganzen Spielzeug was vorhanden war. Lediglich das Gitterbett war leider etwas zu klein für sie und ist nur für richtige Babys etwas, nicht aber für Kleinkinder.
Ansonsten auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

The beds where a tad uncomfortable, and the toilet room is a joke. This is my biggest gripe. The place was really great except this. There is NO ventilation in this tiny, tiny space that holds the toilet. Not fun with a house full of guests. Also, really steep spiral stairs to go up to rooms.

Für uns war die Nähe zum Stahlwerk eine Beeinträchtigung. Je nach Windrichtung gibt es vereinzelt Geruchsbelästigung. Zu hören ist davon jedoch nichts. Und so häßlich der Blick in die eine Richtung, sind der Strand und die angrenzende Dünenlandschaft traumhaft schön. Auch das kleine Örtchen ist ansehnlich.
Die Kommunikation und Abwicklung Check In/out waren vorbildlich und unkompliziert Also alles in allem empfehlenswert.

Leider ist die Durchgangsstrasse zum Strand ein großer Minuspunkt. Durch das super Wetter fuhren die Tagestouristen von 6.00 bis 24.00 Uhr an unserem Ferienhaus vorbei zum Strand und wir kamen nachts nicht richtig zur Ruhe.
Dazu muss ich sagen, dass der Strand mit den Bars, Cafés und Restaurants wunderschön war und das Highlight des Ortes. Hunde sind übrigens überall herzlich willkommen. Ein zusätzliches Manko ist das Stahlwerk das man von der Wohnung aus leider sehen und manchmal auch riechen kann.
Das Haus in einer anderen Lage wäre ein Traum.

Vielen Dank für dies tolle Unterkunft. Es war alles Perfekt und vorallen Dingen wurde an alles gedacht. Man braucht wirklich nichts selbst mitzubringen. Zum kochen ist alles da! Gewürze, Frischhaltefolie, Töpfe, Pfannen einfach alles. Das Badezimmer ist bestens ausgestattet, einfach nur zum Wohlfühlen. Und für wen das noch nicht reicht, tut es der Kamin der Rest. Das Haus von Evy ist einfach perfekt und verteilt ganz viel holländischen Charme. Kann man nur empfehlen! Der Check in und Check out waren auch total einfach und reibungslos und das Haus war Blitzsauber! Für ein paar Tage am Meer einfach Perfekt. Vielen Dank das wir da sein durften.

Die Kommunikation mit Evy bzw. ihren Freunden war sehr nett und unglaublich schnell, auch wenn wir uns nie persönlich begegnet sind.
Die Nächte im Haus waren angenehm, auch wenn man die Autos auf der nahe gelegenen recht befahrenen Straße schon mitbekommen hat. In Wijk aan Zee gab es in Fußweite einen kleineren Supermarkt, zum Strand muss man ca. 15-20 Minuten laufen.
