The neighborhood
De house boat is located in harbour 'De Oude Werf', just 15 min. walking from the center of Aalsmeer and a large supermarket. You will be staying next to a large lake area where you can swim, kayak, and experience many other water sport activities. The banks of the lake are riddles with harbour areas, bars/restaurants with terraces and recreation areas.
Aalsmeer is an old eel fishing town on the banks of the Westeinderplassen. With a rich history it is now a characteristic town with lovely lake views from the marinas. The town has a small but fun center where you can go to shop or to enjoy a drink in the town harbour. There is an outdoor market every Tuesday. Also to be found in Aalsmeer: a casino, horti-culture and flower art museum and a number of great restaurants. Not to forget; the biggest flower (tulips!) auction of the country, which is still functional.
Do you want to discover the lake? You are free to use our 2 kayaks and 2 Stand Up Paddleboards with paddle! You can access the lake from our area within minutes. The kayaks/SUPs are made available from May until October. Using them is at your own risk. Damages (to the kayak, SUP, or to personal items) are your own responsibility and using the kayaks/SUPs during bad weather conditions (heavy wind, rain, or thunder) is forbidden.
The interconnected lakes have a total area of over 10km2 and exist of one large lake, one smaller lake and hundreds of small islands within them. It's a great experience to navigate the lakes and small waterways that connect them and the islands.
Getting around
Aalsmeer is only a 15 minute drive from Schiphol Airport and by train and bus it will take you about 20. In general, public transport will get you around quite well. We will share a handy website to plan your route!
You can park your (rental) car right next to the boat.

Dat de ark heel scheef hangt. Daarnaast was het gangpad van woonkamer naar keuken smal door een kast.
Bedbank zat niet goed. Geen tv. De beamer deed het niet op mobiel of laptop.
Mis goede gordijnen. We hadden gelukkig een eigen gordijn mee.

Her er mere hygge end det er praktisk, i stuen er der en stor lænestol, som er superflot men helt elendig at sidde i.
Vi hørte flyvemaskinerne men var kun få gange generet af dem .

Die gesamte Ausstattung hat doch schon sehr deutliche Gebrauchsspuren.
Große Menschen, oder auch Personen mit mehr als 45cm Körperdurchmesser, würden sich wahrscheinlich etwas eingeengt fühlen. Wer Probleme mit schrägen Böden im Alltag hat, sollte sich den Aufenthalt hier auch gut überlegen.
Die Sauberkeit war ok, aber hier wird die große Ausstattung zum Nachteil, da es wahrscheinlich eher unrealisitisch ist, alle Küchengeräte nach jedem Aufenthalt von Gästen gründlich zu reinigen. Der Wasserkocher und die Mikrowelle waren schon sehr dreckig, ersteres haben wir dann selber gründlich gereinigt, letzteres haben wir dann einfach nicht genutzt. Den Backofen haben wir leider nicht angeschaut, aber auch nicht benötigt. Wir waren 9 Tage auf dem Hausboot und haben dafür pro Person 1 kleines und 1 großes Handtuch gestellt bekommen. Da es, anders als auf der Website angegeben, keine Waschmöglichkeit vor Ort gibt und der nächste Waschsalon laut Maps im Süden von Amsterdam ist, würden wir das Mitbringen eigener zusätzlicher Handtücher empfehlen. Eine Wäscheleine zum Trocknen nasser Gegenstände ist auf dem hinteren 'Balkon', allerdings sind auch hier die Wäscheklammern schon abgenutzt und haben auf einem Strandtuch rostige Flecken hinterlassen. Zu zweit war der Platz ausreichend, aber die angegebe Größe von 62qm wird das Hausboot nicht erreichen. Der vorhandene Stauraum für Kleidung ist sehr begrenzt, im bad gibt es keine Ablagefäche außer in der Dusche. Zu zweit in Ordnung, aber für vier wirklich sehr eng. Die Schlafcouch ist außerdem auch schon zum Sitzen sehr dürftig, da das Polster sehr durchgesessen ist und man nach kurzer Zeit auf dem Metallrahmen sitzt.

Well equiped kitchen. Bathroom was fine. 15 minutes walk to the supermarket and restaurant nearby. I like the quiet and relaxing vibe of the neighbourhood a lot.
The biggest highlight is the SUP and kayak! :D Locating next de Westeinderplassen, one can easily enjoy some time on the water. I enjoyed it a lot!
The host was very helpful and willing to communicate.

However, I would expect better quality and state of the whole facility for this price. Also, you should note that the planes are landing nearby which is loud late at night. Plus, the shower faucet should be fixed but I see I'm not the first who is sharing this:)
Overall, I wouldn't have mentioned the things above if the price was lower - the place is rather good.

Location and accommodation is not as presented in the photos.
There is no view and the accommodation is next to unkept area of the marina, I felt like we're staying in a scrap yard.
Considering the high cleaning fee, I was surprised with the state of the accommodation too..
Furniture was old and damaged.
Close to the airport indeed but if you don't drive getting to the location is a challenge, just something to keep in mind.
Found another hotel and left asap.

Veel plekken viezig ennslecht onderhouden. Gezien de schoonmaakkosten mag je meer verwachten! Daarnaast lag het bootje erg schuin waardoor slapen wat lastig was!
Als alkes netjes wordt gemaakt en schoon (keuken en pannen!) kan het een leuk verblijf zijn!

Es gab Hare überall ins Bett und kein Saubere Kopfkissenbezügen. Keine Antwort darauf, als ich auf neue Fragen! Wenn es nicht so schwer war um zeitlich eine andere Wohnung zu schaffen, habe ich!
Das Floss hängt mindestens 6 Grad und ich fand es sehr ungemütlich und sogar gefährlich! Da habe ich in die Mittel der Nach aufgestanden und wegen der Winkel des Bodens mich fast verletzt. Auch dafür habe ich schon am ersten Tag gefragt ob das korrigiert werden kann aber keine Antwort, nur eine Bestätigung das meine Nachricht dazu weitergeleitet würde.

All things, promised by michel, are real and amazing. Aalsmeer is a little, lovely place where you can see the cute dutch spirit. The houseboat is also amazing and big as well. Michel is a very nice person and built a beautiful place.

Wir wurden sehr nett und herzlich begrüßt. Michel hat uns wirklich alles in Ruhe erklärt.
War wirklich sehr schön. Man hat seine Ruhe ist aber auch sehr schnell in der Stadt. Waren dort auch essen uns können wirklich nicht meckern.
Wie würden jederzeit wieder hin gehen! Nur zu empfehlen!
