The neighborhood
With two small supermarkets and many local restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood, you don’t need to wander far for a relaxing stay. If it is nightlife you are looking for, then inside the city walls is where you will find it.
There are plenty of walks within the area, including the “Pilgrims Walk” to the Ponte da Piedade. You can take a local bus from the nearby bus stop to explore more of Lagos and its surrounding villages. Portugal is steeped in history from winding cobbled streets to its great explorers and enchanting small fishing villages. Take yourself back in time and enjoy special moments making special memories. For a more modern feel why not relax at one of the many bars and restaurants while the sun sets over the Marina where “old meets new”.
Close to Lagos is a variety of activities and sights for all ages. These range from water parks to Zoos, through to historic monuments and challenging hiking and biking trails. There are three golf courses within close proximity to Lagos, making it an ideal location for your base.
The West Coast with its very rouged coastline is also very popular for surfing and some would say with some of the best beaches in the Algarve.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.

Unfortunately, the part we ordered didn’t arrive in time, and we regret that we couldn’t resolve this for you before your stay. Nuestro único inconveniente fue que no funcionaba el lavarropas, no nos avisaron con anticipación al reservar y cuando escribí para decirles, me pidieron disculpas por el inconveniente pero no me brindaron solución alguna. The location is also great as it is easy to walk to the old town, a grocery store, and beaches.
At the check-in the flat was not ready so we had to wait a little for the staff to finish the cleaning and preparation. This was a minor issue, and the team that was there were very humble and excused themselves many times.
All in all a very good experience for the money.

Very spacious apartment which is nice for those going for longer periods of time!
Host was responsive and had very easy to follow instructions for both check in and check out!
Very well equipped kitchen as well! So worth it! + the town of Lagos is absolutely amazing and so beautiful!

Not really a sea view it is actually a very tired campsite and a huge car park on a noisy road . Bit pricy for size and no pool ., didn’t spend a lot of time in apartment as daughter and grandchildren staying just up the road so wasnt a big issue as we spend most of time with them .

Es war nicht sauber, den versprochenen
Meerblick gab es nicht. Die Hinweise um das Schlüsselkästchen zu finden und zu den Regeln (eine Lektüre, die aus mehreren Seiten besteht) sind nicht korrekt; es hat sehr lange gedauert, bis wir den Schlüssel gefunden haben. Wir waren zu zweit. Es gab allerdings nur ein Bettwäsche-Set, und die Nächte waren kalt. Das zweite Set wurde auch auf Anfrage nicht geliefert. Die Begründung des Gastgebers (man kommuniziert die ganze Zeit mit den diversen Mitarbeitern der Firma über den Chat von Booking.com): „Bisher hat sich Keiner beschwert, dass es nachts kalt ist. Sie können die Klimaanlage anmachen, sodass es im Raum warm wird. Außerdem schlafen unsere Gäste i.d.R. zusammen in einem Bett, wenn sie zu zweit anreisen.“ Auch nachdem wir erneut nach der Bettwäsche gefragt haben, wurde sie uns nicht ausgehändigt. Stattdessen gab es endlose Diskussionen über den Chat. Auch die Waschmaschine war defekt, sodass wir unsere Wäsche nicht mehr aus der Waschmaschine herausnehmen konnten. Die Tür war blockiert. Der Gastgeber (also seine Mitarbeiter im Chat) hat uns gesagt, dass es zwei Wege gibt. Der 1. Weg: die Waschmaschine wird auseinander genommen, in diesem Fall müssen wir als Gäste die Kosten tragen; der 2. Weg: die Waschmaschine wird von einem Fachmann geöffnet, er kommt aber erst eine Woche später, nachdem wir weg sind, und unsere Wäsche wird dann uns per Post nach Hause geliefert. Wir haben den 2. Weg gewählt. Wir müssten jedoch über 1 Monat warten, bis wir unsere Wäsche erhalten haben (hier mussten wir auch sehr oft nachfragen). Die Kleidung kam aber in einem schlechten, zerrissenen Zustand an. Wenn Sie einen schönen Urlaub bei einem fairen, guten Gastgeber verbringen möchten, empfehle ich Ihnen diesen Gastgeber nicht. Und ich bitte Booking.com ihre Gastgeber sorgfältiger auszuwählen.
