The space
This Spacious Two Bedroom apartment is situated in the popular Marina Park complex.
There are two bedrooms, one with two single beds and a separate shower. The master bedroom, which has direct access to the large terrace, has a king size bed and en-suite bathroom with bathtub and overhead shower. In our study we have an extra sofa bed that sleeps 2 extra kids (no adults).
The apartment has a large kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you need to make a quick snack or create a four-course meal using some of the fresh produce that is available from one of the many local markets. The open lounge dining area is a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing or chilling by the shared pool in the complex. The terrace has some lovely views where you can have your evening meal or late-night drink, soaking up the warm evening sun. This is a great place to enjoy with friends or family. If cooking is not for you then why not try the restaurant that is on the complex.
Nearby there is a small supermarket, bus stop and train station.

The neighborhood
There are plenty of walks within the area, including the “Pilgrims Walk” to the Ponte da Piedade. You can take a local bus from the nearby bus stop to explore more of Lagos and its surrounding villages. Portugal is steeped in history from winding cobbled streets to its great explorers and enchanting small fishing villages. For a more modern feel why not relax at one of the many bars and restaurants while the sun sets over the Marina where “old meets new”.
Meia Praia is the longest beach in Lagos and is only a short bus ride. For those who like to walk it should take about 20 minutes. With more restaurants along this stretch of beach you can spend the day relaxing and enjoy a delicious meal.
Close to Lagos is a variety of activities and sights for all ages. These range from water parks to zoos, through to historic monuments and challenging hikes and biking trails. There are three golf courses within close proximity to Lagos, making it an ideal location for your base.
The West Coast with its very rugged coastline is also very popular for surfing and some would say with some of the best beaches in the Algarve.
Getting around
You have both a local and national bus service as well as a train service near the centre of Lagos, so getting out and about is quite easy. Due to the location of the property, there is no allocated parking, however there are paying facilities nearby should you wish to hire a car.

Location was perfect for us as we had a rental car but if you’re travelling by foot there is a steep hill to navigate to get there.
The main marina was less than 5 minutes away by car and had a good selection of restaurants and bars. Supermarkets were also nearby plus there’s a convenience store a stones throw from the apartment. Within walking distance there was a lovely independent coffee shop called Everyday People Coffee that’s definitely worth trying out.
Lagos is a lovely quaint town and within easy reach of nearby locations such as Slide and Splash waterpark, Praia de Luz beach, Lagos Zoo among others. Hosts also provided some really useful tips on places to visit and things to try out.
Overall great experience and would definitely consider Rental Valley again if visiting the Algarve

Sehr sauber und hat einen tollen Balkon mit Blick auf den Pool, Tennisplatz und das Hinterland.

Kitchen - all equipped, used washing machine a few times, dishwasher great. We stayed for 2 weeks, so used the kitchen equipment quite a lot. Only thing missing was a pair of oven gloves and scissors.
Walk down to the Marina was about 20 mins, lovely area. Lots of restaurants. To walk over to the old town about a further 10 mins walk. Lots of restaurants and shops.
The pool area is lovely and clean, lots of sunbeds, bar and snack food available. A very short walk from the apartment.
We had hired a car so could explore further, we were not disappointed.
Weather absolutely fantastic.
We had a great 2 weeks. Would definately recommend.

When I booked this VRBO, I assumed that Marine Park would be close to the marina, but that is not correct. It is about a 25 minute brisk walk to the marina and the downtown area and a fairly strenuous uphill walk back to the apartment. We welcomed the exercise, but for anyone with mobility issues, there are plenty of taxis around for transportation.

In der Nebensaison ist es ruhig, sowohl im Haus, wie auf der gesamten Anlage. Das Zentrum von Lagos ist problemlos zu Fuss erreichbar.
Der einzige Nachteil der Wohnung ist das Gebläse der Klimaanlage/Heizung auf dem Balkon. Da es zwar in "Schrank" versteckt ist, aber direkt neben einem der Schlafzimmer angebracht ist, stört es wenn das Gebläse läuft.
wir würden dennoch wiederkommen.

Down side was apartment did not get the sun which in the hotter weather would be a bonus as it will not be too hot, but when you are after the winter sun it’s a negative. Lovely view of the hills from the balcony nevertheless.
Need to be physically fit if don’t have a car.

Place has great view of fields and hills in the distance.
Well equiped kitchen however could use 2 new frying pans.
Comfy beds with nice pillows. Lots of towels and basic soaps. Nice black outs.
Not sure about the throw covers on the sofas though seemed like a poor thing to have done.
Quite far from town, about 1 km to town via marina bridge although it made for a quiat location.
On our last day i forgot my meds and did not realise that untill we reached our next destination. I was able to contact "rental valley" who managed the property and who assited me in retrieviing them for me. Well done, many thx.

Personne n’est venu nous remettre les clefs comme prévu pour notre arrivée entre 16 H et 17 H.
Nous avions juste le numéro de notre bâtiment sans le numéro de l’appartement. Obligés de téléphoner au propriétaire pour nous renseigner. Le code qu’il nous a donné etait faux. Obligés de rappeler une 2e fois pour avoir le bon code.

Couple of negatives /young member of staff at the reception in the complex . Not overly friendly and not experienced enough to provide information on bus services , train services , walking routes etc . Maintenance was a little slow to react to a couple of issues in our apartment.

The terrace was a pleasure to sit on, specially on a really hot days you can enjoy the comfort of the shade.
Wifi worked really well.
The fridge was barely cold even though set to maximum. I would not recommend storing meat or fish for longer than a day, which meant going shopping daily…luckily fish mercado is also just 10 min away.

Nous sommes très satisfaites de notre séjour.
La piscine était très belle, la cuisine très bien aménagée..
L'établissement est super bien situé.

Il n'était pas indiqué qu'il s'agissait d'un cheking autonome. Nous avons attendu quelqu'un pendant 30 minutes.
Il s'agit du seul point négatif.

Easy 20 minute walk to old town and Pingo Doce for groceries. Check out Garcias wine store across Pingo Doce for a nice selection and great prices on your wine etc needs. Lovely well kept grounds.
Great open view from the large balcony. Only issue is that in winter you don’t get any direct sun for additional warmth. Heating system works well. Free parking available on the private street outside the units.
VRBO charges are getting out of hand.

An sich sehr schöne Unterkunft, die negativen Erfahrungen haben nicht überwogen, sollten aber einfach transparent für alle sein.
Der Check in verspätetet sich um über eine halbe Stunde obwohl wir uns zu einer konkreten Ankunft bereits am Vortag und vor Abfahrt vom Flughafen geäußert haben (verspätete Check ins anderer Unterkünfte waren scheinbar der Grund).
Angekommen musste die Dame bei der Schlüssel Übergabe erst noch den putzeimer und Utensilien verräumen. Die Sauberkeit war nicht besonders gut, einige Reste vom putzen, schlieren an der Fenstern, Herd und man hatte das Gefühl es war nicht genug Zeit zum putzen (Ankunft um 21 Uhr und Oberflächen waren noch feucht, also frisch geputzt).
Der Pool ist auf der Seite vom Appartement. Die Gastronomie war im späten September noch geöffnet teilweise und daher hat man bis abends noch Musik gehört, die etwas störend war.
Der Balkon bekommt den ganzen Tag nie Sonne ab, das war sehr schade.
