The neighborhood
Praia da Luz is a small resort town located on the incredible Algarve coastline 10km west of Lagos. Praia da Luz or just Luz, was originally a small fishing village on the edge of sandy bay surrounded by cliffs. This sandy bay sheltered by cliffs means it’s a perfect family beach destination. Although the town is now more of a holiday resort it still retains some of the original features from its historical past. The bigger town Lagos is less than 10 minutes' drive away and in the other direction, you will find many small beach towns and breathtaking beaches. Perfect for family, beach and watersport (surf) trips.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.
Free public parking nearby. Parking in front of the apartment is not always possible in summer, but there will be plenty of space in the surrounding streets.

The kitchen has everything needed for cook.
The only thing about this apartment was that the extra bed on the living room wasn't comfortable at all.
Some of the dishes were still dirty with food.

Le ménage était mal fait : traces dans les placards de la cuisine, toiles d'araignées.
De nombreux problèmes ont pu être réglés par Rental Valley : pas d'eau chaude dans la cuisine, pas de draps pour le lit double, grille pain inutilisable.
L'appartement se situe dans le bloc B, le plus loin de la piscine. On se sent un peu isolé.
Clairement, le prix demandé pour la prestation est beaucoup trop élevé comparé aux prix des appartements loués par la résidence en direct qui incluent en + les petits déjeuners et avec des prestations exceptionnelles.
Merci à l'agence Rental Valley qui a fait son maximum mais elle ne pouvait pas rénover l'appartement.
Le complexe, lui, est magnifique : piscines, salle de sport, sauna... dommage que l'appartement soit si peu entretenu et vétuste.

Loved the indoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi to use in the evening when it had got a bit colder outside.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful

The apartment itself was very well equipped, decorated and peaceful.
Minor point, I would have liked nicer patio furniture and clothes airer... but it worked, so not a big deal.
Loved the gates to get in and out of the complex.
Hubby used the gym facilities daily. He was also impressed with the spa had an hour sports massage.
Everything was within walking distance.
Would recommend this apartment a s complex.
Outdoor furniture as mentioned above.

Hubo un problema con el lector de tarjetas de la puerta principal y no se podía entrar al apartamento. Cuando hablé con el contacto a través de Booking, me pidió que hablase con la recepción del hotel y con Rental Valley, que son los que ahora llevan el apartamento. Tuve que llamar una segunda vez a Rental Valley porque no recibí más información después de más de una hora de la primera llamada para informar del problema.

La escasa amabilidad de algún empleado del resort.
En el gimnasio sufrí un accidente por el mal estado de mantenimiento de una de las máquinas, de la que se soltó una pieza. Ello provocó moratones y heridas en un brazo.

De bedden zijn keihard. Tip voor de host: vervang het matras of leg er een zachte topper op.
Je krijgt maar 2 handdoeken per persoon voor de gehele duur van je verblijf (tenzij je extra betaalt voor een handdoekenwissel).
Het was fijner geweest als er twee fleecedekens voor de twee banken waren i.p.v. één. Je kan één deken niet delen voor twee personen ;)

The resort staff was rude and unnseseary mean, trying to enforce cancelled covid measures. The manager screamed at us for not wearing the mask in the hall. It was horrible. Honestly.
