This beautifully renovated family villa is thoughtfully divided into three units. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment provides everything you need for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday.
The space
Villa Miramar is perfectly situated between the villages of Burgau and Salema, offering uninterrupted views of the dramatic Algarvian cliffs and the ocean. Fully renovated last year, the property now features three thoughtfully designed private apartments, each furnished with care and equipped with modern amenities.
This two-bedroom apartment is ideal for those seeking both comfort and convenience. The bedrooms feature two single beds placed together, and there are two spacious bathrooms, one ensuite. Please note that the second bedroom has a fixed window that doesn’t open. A modern kitchen with all the essentials and a cozy lounge area lead directly to a private patio, where you can enjoy the tranquility of outdoor living and take in the stunning sea views.
Private parking is available behind the secure gates, shared with guests from the two other apartments.

The neighborhood
Burgau and Salema are charming fishing villages nestled between Lagos and Sagres. Tucked into a small cove and protected from the wind by surrounding cliffs, Praia do Burgau offers a picturesque spot for relaxation. It’s the perfect starting point for a peaceful beach holiday or to discover the beauty of the Western Algarve. The area boasts fantastic seaside restaurants and bars, along with several stunning beaches waiting to be explored. If your ideal holiday involves soaking up the sun and swimming in clear waters, this village has everything you need.
Within a 15-minute drive, you'll find three excellent golf courses and some of the Algarve's top surfing spots. Just 8 kilometers away lies the historic town of Lagos, known for its vibrant nightlife, bustling marina, and diverse selection of shops, cafes, and restaurants. The region also offers plenty of activities, including surfing, fishing, diving, golf, tennis, and scenic hiking trails.
Getting around
Burgau is approximately a one-hour drive from Faro Airport, with convenient car rental services available directly in the airport parking lot. Traveling by train takes about 4 to 5 hours.
While public transportation is an option in the area, it is limited, so having a rental car is highly recommended for flexibility and convenience.
Parking in the region is free and plentiful, making it easy to explore the area by car.

Kitchen is quite well equipped.
As others have said there is a damp musty smell throughout the apartment, the main bathroom is particularly unpleasant.
The musty smell does ease off once windows & doors have been opened for a while but you are faced with it when you come back after a day out.
The sofa is squeaky & not particularly comfortable, we sat at the table all the time.
Apartment could do with a few more soft touches.

Das zweite Zimmer verfügt leider über keine Fenster. Dadurch wurde es schnell sehr feucht. Allerdings gibt es einen Entfeuchter in dem Zimmer.
Die Lage der Unterkunft war für uns gut, da wir es gern etwas ruhiger mögen. In ca. 10 Gehminuten erricht man den super schönen Strand mit einem tollen Lokal.

O contrato que recebemos após fazer o check in. Deveria ser apresentado antes de escolher o alojamento e não após. Até o lixo tivemos que levar. Só faltava obrigarem nos a limpar o apartamento e lavar as roupas de cama. E tinham taxas adicionais para tudo! O Check in é após as 16h e o check out até às 10h. Não voltarei concerteza!

Instructions need improvement. The heater/air conditioners were confusing (particularly because we didn’t know they were on timers that were set for them to go on in the middle of the night). We finally just turned them off. We were unable to park inside the gate both nights as there were already two cars. We parked on the curb, which was okay but we thought we paid for a unit with parking. The coffee maker was fussy and the lid kept popping up (which caused the brewer to stop) so maybe it’s time for a new one. Instructions for what to do with our trash were incomplete - the neighbor told us we had to put it in our car and take it with us and dispose of it in the city or elsewhere. That was not in the instructions. A couple of area rugs and some art on the walls could warm up the rather spartan decor. Hints on where to buy groceries or where to eat would be a welcome addition to the instructions.

Die Tür zum Schlafzimmer mit dem Fenster ließ sich leider garnicht schließen, auch anlehnen war kaum möglich. Scheinbar hat sich die Tür durch Feuchtigkeit massiv verzogen. Alles in allem waren wir zufrieden, insbesondere wegen der traumhaften Terrasse und der Umgebung.

- no hot water for the first 3 days
- one bedroom was so damp it was like sleeping in a cave
- the bathroom sink was blocked ( a problem other people have commented on)
- the shower was blocked and could not be used as it flooded the bathroom (a problem other people have commented on)
- the bedroom door was swollen with the damp and once shut could not be reopened easily
- the description of the apartment is inaccurate :
1. There has been no dishwasher available for months
2. There are three apartments and only 2 parking spaces so off road parking is not always available
3 the second bedroom is a cave - it only has light bricks, no window (not just one that doesn’t open per the description) there is no aircon or heating in the room so you would need to sleep with the door open
For all the issues the rental company offered compensation of EUR 80 … around the cost of half a days stay which is completely unreasonable.

The apartment is not thought out, its very inconvenient. One of the bedrooms has no windows, no AC and the en-suite extractor (the extractors pipe is coming out in to the hallway) isn’t working, after living there for 3 days, everything started smelling and it was dump, the smell was getting so intense that we contacted costumer support, which wasn’t very helpful, they were requesting pictures of the windows that are missing from the room ( they don’t even know what properties they advertise:(). We were told that someone will come over to fix the extractor and change the sheets and the towels (at extra charge), however we have explained that its not our fault nothing works in that house. There was also no bin liners and hand soap running out and very little toilet paper. There was no washing machine at the property, which is unacceptable for a self catering apartment of this type, you have beach towels and clothing that needs to be washed every other day, so a washing machine is a must. In the living room they have a very very very noisy sofa, that wakes up everyone. This apartment is made out of a big villa split into little apartments, the isolation is terrible, you can hear the neighbours even when they whisper. The parking is for only 2 cars even though there are so many apartments and the location its not walking distance, you definitely need a car to get to town which is about 6 min drive or 20 min to the beach . Check-out terms are also very strict: dishwasher empty(even though they have no dishwashers), dishes cleaned and dried out and the bins emptied( the closest bins are around 10 min walk from the property which is not ideal either. Its not worth the price.

The furnishing of the apartment was simple but completely sufficient, however, the dishwasher was missing in the kitchen which was not previously visible in the pictures. For this reason, we often had to leave dishes in the kitchen, which is why we had quite a few ants. Unfortunately, the wifi has not really worked well, again and again you had to reconnect on the phone or you had the bad luck and it has not connected for a while. The view on the terrace was a dream as well as the bathroom and the beds. Also in the kitchen everything worked fine and we would love to come back when the problems were fixed.

Wunderschöner Blick von der Terrasse bis aufs Meer.
Sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet und alles da, was man für ein paar Tage benötigt.
Auf der Terrasse sind Sonnenliegen, Sonnenschirm und Tisch zum essen. Top!
Hat uns super gefallen und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
Das Sofa sieht schön aus, ist aber eher unbequem und quietscht bei jeder Bewegung.
Das ist schon alles, was wir zu bemängeln hatten.

Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet nut mehr Besteck hätten wir uns gewünscht.
Das größte Manko der Wohnung: das zweite Schlafzimmer hatte kein Fenster und als einziger Raum auch keine Klimaanalge. Dadurch war es dort sehr feucht und unmöglich zu lüften. Das haben wir den Anbietern auch mitgeteilt.
Außerdem wichtig zu wissen, wenn man in einer Gruppe reist: die Türen konnte man nur schwer und teilweise sogar gar nicht schließen.
Das Frühstück auf der wunderbaren Terrasse hat aber Vieles wieder wettgemacht.

No estaba especificada la clave wifi ni se informó anticipadamente, y en el alojamiento no hay ni cobertura ni datos.
Una habitación no tiene ventana al exterior, y el baño tiene cierto olor a tubería en determinados momentos.
No hay horno.
Quizás retrasaría la hora de las 10 del checkout. Hay que dejar el apartamento siguiendo unas normas de recogida estrictas (como dejar el lavavajillas vacío, recogido y todo limpio en sus muebles entre otras).
