The space
Location doesn’t get better than this!
Feel at home in our bright and welcoming 1-bedroom apartment, located in the center of Luz, just 2 minutes from the beach and surrounded by cafes, shops, and supermarkets. Whether you’re up for an early morning surf session or a quiet stroll along the shore, everything is within easy reach. After a day of exploring, finish your evening with a sundowner overlooking the ocean on the shared rooftop terrace.
As you enter this 1st-floor apartment, you'll find some closet space right in front of you. To the right, the kitchen is fully equipped for all your meal prep needs. Heading left in the kitchen, you’ll find the bathroom, with a toilet and shower. Moving straight ahead, you’ll enter the living/dining/sleeping area, which features two single beds pushed together to form a double bed and a sofa bed. This space opens up to the private, south-facing balcony, ideal for enjoying the sunshine. Don't forget the large shared rooftop terrace offering amazing views over Luz Bay.
For added comfort, the living/dining/sleeping area is equipped with an AC unit and electric heaters on the wall, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere throughout your stay.
➤ Please note that this apartment is located above a wine and tapasbar. Where it is possible to sit inside and outside. This can be a bit noisy at times.

The neighborhood
Luz is a quaint little holiday getaway along the Algarvian coastline. You will find everything you need here for a relaxing holiday getaway. Shops, bars and restaurants, and a beautiful beach are right on your doorstep. The bigger town Lagos is less than 10 minutes' drive away and in the other direction, you will find many small beach towns and breathtaking beaches. Perfect for family, beach, and watersport (surf) trips.
Getting around
Free public parking nearby. Parking in front of the apartment is not always possible in summer, but there will be plenty of space in the surrounding streets.

really can’t say anything bad about it for the price. the decor is a bit kitschy, bed is a little too soft for my tastes and the pillows too firm, but these are exacting standards.

The kitchen has everything you would need to prepare small lunches/dinners for yourselves.
Washing machine and cloth dryer available.
Also they have an umbrella that you can take to the beach.
The balcony could maybe need some shading during the day but we worked around with the available umbrella ;)
All in all it was a very pleasant stay with Rental Valley in Luz.

Abzüge gibt es in der B(ad)-Note. Toilettensitz und Duschhalterung sollten ebenso wie die Matratze mal ausgetauscht werden. Außerdem wäre ein Sonnenschutz auf dem Balkon sinnvoll, da man es dort sonst von ca. 10-16 Uhr kaum aushalten kann (Mitte Juni).
Problematisch fanden wir den Check-in. Wenn man erst um 16 Uhr einchecken kann, um 10 Uhr aber schon wieder auschecken muss, geht schon mal quasi ein halber Urlaubstag verloren. Wir hatten mehrere Tage vorher angefragt, ob wir früher einchecken können - kurz vor unserer Ankunft in Luz wurde uns dann mitgeteilt, das Apartment sei um 14.30 Uhr bezugsfertig - das Reinigungsteam brauchte dann aber bis 16.30 Uhr.

Only downside: The couch (described as 2nd bed) is really not comfy. There is a hard bar in the middle and its hard to get a good sleep on it. Would say this is rather a 1 bed-apartment.

When we arrived, the air conditioning and internet were not working. We called rental valley and within two hours the internet was working and the owner Peter came by personally with a heater. He was really helpful and gave us tips on where to eat and on nice hiking trails. The next day he brought us another radiator which was great as it was quite cold outside. The apartment was really nicely decorated and had a large balcony in a perfect location near restaurants and the beach. The cleaning could have been more thorough.

Die Wohnung ist super hell und verbreitet zusätzlich durch die freundliche Einrichtung schon direkt am Morgen gute Laune!
Die Dachterasse ist ein weiterer Pluspunkt. Von ihr kann man direkt aufs Meer schauen, wobei man auch wirklich schnell einfach zum Strand kurz vorlaufen kann.
Zwei Supermärkte sind in unmittelbarer Laufnähe (je 10 Minuten), alles wirklich super praktisch. Parken kann man direkt um die Ecke auf der Straße. Sehr sicher!! Wenn man möchte gibt es auch zahlreiche Restaurants die allerdings schon eher hochpreisiger sind. Wir können trotzdem Boaty's Tapas Café extrem empfehlen. Das Essen ist wirklich köstlich und ausgefallen. Nicht günstig aber noch ok, für einen besonderen Abend. Die Endless Summer Bar direkt an der Strandpromenade fanden wir vom Essen nicht so herausragend wie es in Google Bewertet wurde, aber durchaus ok und auf jeden Fall ein super Flair.
Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder nach Luz in diese tolle Unterkunft und können auch jedem Gast Mariners Apartments uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!!! Genießt selbst einen wunderschönen Urlaub!
