This gorgeous apartment with balcony sleeps 2 and has been renovated in early 2022. It offers you space, luxury and comfort in a modern homely setting. It is located right at the waterfront of Olhão, just minutes walking from the ferries to the Islands of Armona and Culatra.
The space
The lovely 1 bed, 2 bath apartment is located in the old town of Olhão, with the balcony overlooking a lively square and the waterfront literally around the corner. The house has double glazed windows all around that let in lots of light.
Even though the apartment is located in a traditional building, the owners have completely renovated it, creating a modern and bright space that is tastefully decorated. The apartment is completely private and you have access to 1 bedroom with large double bed, 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite), a small lounge and an open plan, fully equipped kitchen with high quality appliances. The bedroom is equipped with A/C, other rooms can be sufficiently aired and room fans are available.

The neighborhood
Olhão is located next to Faro. It has a lovely and lively old center with a rich history of traditional Portuguese culture. From here you can easily explore both the east, west and inland Algarve but Olhão is perhaps most famous as the access point to the beautiful and peaceful islands of Armona and Culatra by ferry. There are public and private ferry options available and they are located just a couple of minutes walking from the apartment.
Due to the central location, you will have lots of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from in close vicinity of the apartment. A large supermarket is located at less than 5 minutes walking.
Getting around
You can easily get around on foot or use public transport or a taxi/uber to travel around. If you wish to explore the larger Algarve area, a hire car is recommended. Parking in old town Olhão is for free in most places, except along the waterfront. It can be challenging to find it but usually there will be a spot available close to the apartment. A large paid parking area at a nearby hotel is a good alternative for those who don't feel comfortable navigating the old town streets.

➤ Check-in time: 16:00-21:00 - Late arrivals must be explicitly confirmed before booking!
➤ Check-out time: before 10am
➤ In this accommodation, we welcome one responsible couple of 25+ and never more than 2 guests, including children. Unfortunately, the house is not suitable for infants/toddlers.
➤ Please note that the apartment is located on the second floor, without elevator. Other apartments in the building are occupied by long term residents, please respect them, no noise - especially not at night.

Die zentrale Lage hat natürlich Lärm zur Folge. Am Abend Musik und feiernde Touristen und am Morgen früh die ersten Gäste in den Cafes.

The shower needs attention. It wasn’t my case, but not great for people with mobility issues. Legging heavy luggages 2+ floors up will not be for everyone…

El trato con huéspedes de larga duración porque no se realiza cambio ni de toallas ni de ropa de capa en los 13 días de duración de la estancia.
La ubicación es muy céntrica pero excesivamente ruidosa por las noches, lo que dificulta el descanso.

In order to wash up and keep the kitchen clean a dish cloth or brush would have been helpful. There was a lot of steps to get up to the apartment so not good for anyone with mobility issues. It is on the second floor.

The Apartment is amid of many Restaurants, Supermarkets are near.
also the Pier for the Ferry boats to the Islands.

The tv didn’t work, the day we arrived we reported it and daily after that. Nothing was done about this during the whole week stay. We rely on the tv as we aren’t party goers.
The shower waste was blocked and overflowed during every shower.
Only one small and one big towel per person per stay made life a little difficult.

A recepção foi uma vergonha, ficámos uma hora à espera das chaves e qd tentámos comunicar com a agência não havia ninguém disponível para falar em português.
A casa tem um odor intenso e extremamente desagradavel, entre o podre e a naftalina.
O duche de uma das casas de banho estava completamente entupido e tivemos que ensinar a menina das limpezas a desentupir a canalização. Deixaram-nos toalhas velhas e também reclamámos por isso.
A tv não funciona e a casa não tem sofá.
Devo dizer que quando contactamos a menina da limpeza por causa da canalização e das toalhas, acedeu prontamente a ajudar. Mas o que aconteceu não deve acontecer num apartamento alugado.
A localização é muito central, mas é péssima. O apartamento é num primeiro andar e não há privacidade nenhuma para a rua, alem de ser sobre os bares, o que o torna muito barulhento

so had contacted rental valley in amsterdam who phoned me back to say they had made
contact and we would be met at 4 pm. on arrival at apartment nobody there to meet us so
further calls to amsterdam who called us back to say magdalena would get to us in about 30 minutes
and 45 minutes later she strolled up with no apology and let us in . it was obvious she was in a hurry and got out as
fast as possible , not a great experience to start of our holiday

The place is very well looked after and communication is good and stress-free. The photos do not do it justice.
Nothing really. For information:
-The street outside is lively, but the room very quiet with the door closed and the air-con on. Always a good night's sleep.
-Your card details are held by a third party "Swikly" for the deposit (no international bank transfers required).
-Give the agent up to an hour to meet you at the property, not the 30 mins your get in the guide.

No hay manera de comunicarse con ellos mediante mensajes en la app. Una vez que te han cobrado la estancia te envían un teléfono de contacto holandés, de una empresa ubicada en Amsterdam, en Olhao solo hay 1 persona de contacto, de la empresa de limpieza. La información que te envían es en inglés (no tenemos problemas con el inglés pero si hacemos la reserva desde España deberían enviarla en español). De entre un montón de páginas, con un montón de normas te indican que debes avisar media hora antes de llegar para que esa persona te traiga las llaves (habíamos comunicado la hora de llegada en Booking.com). Como no lo habíamos leído, al llegar, tuvimos que hacer varias llamadas y esperar más de 1 hora a que viniera.
Nos alojamos 5 noches. Cuando llegamos, la persiana del dormitorio estaba rota, caída y la persona de contacto nos preguntó si podían venir a arreglarla durante nuestra estancia, respondimos que sí. Después de insistir varias veces nos dijeron que venían a arreglarla al 4º día en un horario que no nos venía bien, así que nos marchamos el último día con la persiana sin arreglar y sin luz natural en el dormitorio.
Solo dejan una bolsa de basura y un rollo de papel higiénico en cada baño (no 2 como decían sus condiciones). Creo que por el precio del apartamento podrían ser más generosos.
En los servicios del apartamento no dicen que el acceso es solo mediante escaleras y es un segundo piso con varios tramos, que con maletas grandes es incómodo y sobre todo si una persona tiene problemas de movilidad.
El día antes de irte te envían un montón de normas: no dejar la bolsa con basura, no dejar nada en la nevera, no dejar nada limpio en el lavavajillas, todo en los armarios…..y como tienen acceso a un depósito de 200€ no sabes si no cumples con todo si van a tener excusa para disponer de él.
En resumen, trato de los clientes muy muy mejorable.
