Excellent townhouse in traditional fisherman town with amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean - what more can you wish for?
The space
This townhouse is within a few minutes walking distance of the beautiful blue flag beach of Salema, the fresh fish restaurants and the centre of this quaint village. The property has been refurbished to a high standard and is bright and welcoming!
On the ground floor, you find the living/dining room with doors opening onto the spacious south-facing patio. The outside area is very private and has ample space for sunbathing, and it is perfect for enjoying your Alfresco dining. There is an open-plan kitchen with a microwave, small oven and electric induction hob. The freezer and washing machine are located in the utility room. On the same level, we also find a bathroom with a shower.
A staircase leads to the first floor which has two spacious bedrooms with sea views, and one has a small balcony. There is also a high-quality family bathroom.

The neighborhood
Our holiday home is in Salema, a small village close to Lagos. It is very popular amongst golf lovers, families and nature lovers.
A selection of restaurants & bars allows you to explore local and international food. We recommend trying fresh fish and seafood dishes! There is a supermarket 4 minutes away by car. Like Burgau and Praia da Luz, other beaches are just a short drive away. So whether you want to relax, go for a surf or enjoy a fantastic hike in nature, Budens is the place. And if you crave city life at some point, Lagos is only 20 minutes away.
Getting around
You can reach Salema in about one hour by car from Faro Airport. By public transport, it will take about 4 to 5 hours. There are various taxi and shared shuttle options available as well.
You can easily reach the beach and Salema town on foot. But f you want to explore the area, a (rental) car will make your life much easier as public transport is limited.
Parking is free everywhere in this area.

We had a great view of the Atlantic Ocean and coast from our Salema accommodations. We had a Spring storm and the large waves crashing on the coast were spectacular! Sun in the apartment morning and afternoon! Quick walk to town and beach. Best Accommodation in 4 weeks of the Algarve. Definitely will return!

It was just what we needed, however because it rained a lot while we were there, it was hard drying towels and bedding….would recommend adding more towels and an extra set of sheets. Overall we were very comfortable and had a wonderful stay

Lage top, flexibler Check in! leider ist die Unterkunft etwas in die Jahre gekommen was man am Bad im Obergeschoss und den Möbeln sieht.
Hatten Schwierigkeiten mit der Sauberkeit und haben dies leider nicht gleich zu Beginn des Aufenthalts reklamiert…
Würden dort Ort wieder besuchen, die Unterkunft aber nicht .

Bäder waren nur ungenügend bzw. Gar nicht gereinigt, wurde jedoch nach Kontaktaufnahme mit dem vermietservice behoben.

Overall the townhouse met our needs, but did not meet our expectations based on the photos on the listing. The place could use a refresh. The couch was grimy, rug stain, outside funiture not in great shape, I would not use the bbq, kitchenware and utensils not ingreat shape.

Tout d'abord la communication avec l'agence de location était parfaite 👏, ils sont réactif et à l'écoute.
les points positifs :
-logement propre.
-vue magnifique.
-proximité de la plage et des endroits d'intérêt.
les points negatifs :
- les deux lits dans de la deuxième chambre grincent comme pas possible rendant le sommeil difficile 🫤.
- le canapé est trop petit 😐 pour un logement de 4 personnes, ils suffit a peine a deux personnes. il faudrait prevoir un canapé d angle plus grand.
- les ustensiles de cuisines sont assez sommaires et pas du tout digne d une maison louée a presque 170euros la nuit.
- Odeur assez désagréable qui se dégagent de la salle de bain 🤢.
Nous avons rencontré un problème, la porte d'entrée est restée bloquée 😶 cependant l'hote a été reactif et a réparé en 24h le problème. ça nous a tout de même coûté une journée de vacance mais soit.
en résumé le logement nécessite un réel investissement de la part du propriétaire et de l'entretien.

We, a familiy of four, visited this apartment in August 2024. The apartment was as described in the ad and the communication with Rental Valley was very easy. It is well-suited for a family vacation at the beach.
We could reach the beach in a few minutes on foot and spent lots of days there. There are a number of restaurants in walking distance but only a few small shops. The next big supermarket was 5 minutes by car.
We can highly recommend this apartment.

Der Meerblick war super!
Die Dusche in Erdgeschoss war kaputt und sehr dreckig, die Dusche in oberen Geschoss war ebenfalls dreckig und das Spiegel Licht war auch kaputt auch die Halterung für Handtücher hinter der Tür in der Oberen Dusche ist Kaputt!!! Die Küche war klebrig und der Überzug am den Blauensofa kann man mal waschen BITTE!!! Man hat uns ständig belästigt wegen der kaputte Dusche!!! Wir hatten trotzdem einen schönen Urlaub gehabt und kommen wieder, aber nicht in dieser Ferienhaus!!!! Für 2100€ 14 Tage Nur Abgezockt!!! LG Anna und Thomas

We loved the location and the place. However, telling renters to use Google Maps, at least telling Americans, to use Google Maps isn't helpful. The address provided was Bay View Townhouse at 65 Barro do sol Encosta Salema. We never saw anything called Bay View (we did see View and Sea View) and when we did a google search on 65 Bairro do Sol Encosta, we kept being routed to Bairro Social Encosta do Sol 65. Using Apple Navigation we kept getting something that said Social Club. I am not trying to be an ugly American but in the US location/addresses have to be very precise. Perhaps we are the only Americans who you have rented to, and if so please disregard. It's just that if it had not been for an elderly gentleman walking his dog we would not have found it. He actually had to walk us to the place.

Ein kleines Strandhaus mit traumhaftem Ausblick und hohem Wohnstandard. Im ruhigen Salema gelegen mit ausreichend Parkmöglichkeiten in direkter Nähe und ca 5 Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt bietet es Alles, was man für einen entspannten Aufenthalt benötigt.
Die Betten im 2. Schlafzimmer sind leider sehr unbequem und knarzen laut. Das große Bett ist dafür sehr bequem!
Es fehlt außerdem ein Staubsauger zur Reinigung des Bodens! Nach 9 Tagen reicht es eben nicht mehr mit dem kleinen Besen zu kehren! Ebenso fehlt es an Gewürzen, Öl, Mülltüten, Küchentücher, Küchenschwamm, Waschmittel und Spültabs und Kaffeekapseln. Die Hausverwaltung teilte mit, dass dies nicht inkludiert sei, was sehr schade ist, da ich nicht vor hatte einen ganzen Haushalt einzurichten!

well, it was like staying at construction site: a neighboring apartment was being renovated and they were hammering and hammer drilling during 4 out of 6 days of our stay. This house should not have been rented out! No possibility of relaxing during the day.

The view from the balcony was stunning! The kitchen was well equipped. We ran out of toilet paper fairly quickly and the washrooms don't have shampoo or body wash. The rooms can get fairly warm since there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms but fans were provided. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

Great location, from which it was easy to get to the beach and town center. Wonderful ocean views as well, and spacious. As other reviews mentioned, the place was missing several basic amenities typically found at other rentals (eg dish soap, body wash). It was also dusty, with some old candy wrappers left behind in one of the bedrooms, some dead bugs on the floor, and a dessicated dead bird on the patio. There was construction happening while we were there so it was also a bit noisy. The neighbors were incredibly nice and overall it felt like a good place to make as an Algarve home base surrounded by locals.

We had a bad experience here and would not recommend staying there. No hot water, shower broke nearly smashing my son, no fans or ac, early construction work next door. We cancelled the rest of the nights but were charged quite a bit for the one night+ fees. find another place.

We wanted to understand why they are not aware of such planned work (notice was published on property) if known we would not have booked. The answer from the agent was "Enjoy your stay". Waste of space we just couldn't stay in the property during the day. I do not blame the owners as this is the letting agency issue of not managing the property environment.

My only issue was that most Airbnb that I have stayed in around the world are a bit more "welcoming" and "homey" feeling in the sense that there is at least a bit of coffee, tea, sugar for the morning because check-in is usually in the afternoon, and at least some salt/pepper, oil...this place was spartan. It was a great stay nonetheless!

Sehr schönes und stilvoll eingerichtetes Ferienhäuschen mit Meerblick. Top Lage, knapp 5 Gehminuten zum Strand. Perfekter Ausgangsort für Unternehmungen der Süd-West Algarve.
Leider war im Nachbarhaus gerade ein Umbau im gange. Das war etwas nervig, kann aber die Unterkunft nichts dafür.
