The neighborhood
Olhão is located next to Faro. It has a lovely and lively old centre with a rich history of traditional Portuguese culture. From here, you can easily explore both the east, west and inland Algarve. Olhão is perhaps most famous as the access point to the beautiful and peaceful islands of Armona and Culatra by ferry. There are public and private ferry options are available, and they are located just a few minutes' walk from the apartment.
Due to the central location, you will have lots of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from in the close vicinity of the apartment. In addition, a supermarket is located at less than 5 minutes walk.
Getting around
You can easily get around on foot or use public transport or a taxi/uber to travel around. If you wish to explore the larger Algarve area, a hire car is recommended. Parking in old town Olhão is for free in most places, except along the waterfront. It can be challenging to find it but usually there will be a spot available close to the apartment. A large paid parking area at a nearby hotel is a good alternative for those who don't feel comfortable navigating the old town streets.

Easy walk to the main attractions, old town, ferry, market etc. New Marina built opposite with a great selection of bars and restaurants plus children play area.High quality beds and linen, kitchen fully stocked with good appliances.
Little shade on the roof is all that was needed, otherwise perfect!

Leider waren die Betten im Schlafzimmer zu weich. Man ist direkt in das Boxspringbett eingesunken. Ich habe normalerweise keine Rückenschmerzen, aber nach 6 Tagen hatte ich leider welche. Meine Frau und ich sind allerdings auch keine Boxspringbetten-Liebhaber, da eben mit dem Topper zu weich.

Scherm bij het bad wellicht voorzien van een bescherm rand. Water komt er door met douchen.

Tiene todo lo necesario para que la estancia sea perfecta: accesorios para la playa, aire acondicionado, camas reclinables, etc.
El apartamento está decorado con muchísimo gusto lo que hace que la estancia sea súper agradable.
La piscina y las vistas, inmejorables!

Das Appartment liegt sehr nah an einer Hauptstraße, zusätzlich war direkt gegenüber eine Baustelle mit Straßenarbeiten für neue Bauprojekte, deshalb war es auf der Terrasse tagsüber sehr laut, bei Nacht war es ok. Wenig sinnvoll ist auch, dass die Außeneinheit des Klimageräts auf der Terrasse steht und bei Betrieb einen starken Heißluftstrom direkt Richtung Tisch und Stühle abgibt. Wir nutzen diese Funktion, indem wir unseren Wäscheständer direkt davor stellten und in Rekordzeit trockene Wäsche erhielten, aber das sollte eigentlich nicht die Funktion einer Klimaanlage sein. Zu diesem Thema gehört auch, dass die Küche keine Klimaanlage hat und zusätzlich das Fenster in der Küche das einzige Fenster ist, das kein Vordach und keinen Außenrolladen hat und sich die Küche dadurch am Nachmittag stark aufheizt.
Etwas lieblos ist auch die Dachterasse mit dem Swimmingpool. Es sind zwar einige Liegen vorhanden, aber es wirkt alles recht einfach und trist.

Il est parfait pour un séjour proche des commerces et restaurants et bar à 5/10 min à pieds.
La piscine sur le toit est agréable et propre et parfaite pour les enfants comme pour les adultes.

Der Parkplatz war kostenlos und es gab immer einen (wir waren aber auch in der Vorsaison (Juni) dort. 2 Bäder, bequeme Betten - wer hier nicht 10 Punkte vergibt, ist von Natur aus ein Nörgler. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
Der Pool war sehr chlorlastig, aber sauber. Man kann nicht ohne Brille tauchen. Ideal auch für kleinere Kinder, weil er nicht besonders tief ist.
Das Zimmer mit den zwei Einzelbetten befindet sich direkt neben dem Wohnzimmer. Schließt man die Schiebetür, hat man kein Fenster. Lässt man sie offen, ist alles okay!
Zwei Dinge, für die der Vermieter aber nichts kann: Die Wohnung befindet sich direkt an der Durchfahrtstraße. Wer Verkehrslärm nicht mag, sei also informiert. Und in irgendeinem Appartment (in einem der angrenzenden Häuser) hält jemand sehr viele Hunde, die wirklich den ganzen Tag kläffen. Und auch gerne morgens um 5 Uhr.

Brilliant location, lovely neighbourhood with great views. The apartment has all amenities and the agents were quick to respond and I’d love to return.
Cons
The keys were not in the box and we had to wait nearly 2 hours for the host to arrive with the keys and when the host arrived she did not apologise once.
Bedroom off of the lounge door was off the hinges and the first time I opened it, part of the fixings fell down
When we stepped into the kitchen the vibrations caused some of the skirting to fall off
Took us a while to sort the wifi - turned out it had been plugged back in incorrectly. Quick resolution but again, shouldn’t have been an issue
So much potential, just needs some refining

Shame the floors needed a sweep, unfortunately the WiFi didn’t reach to the main bedroom
Kitchen utensils (cutlery, mugs, glasses) little dirty and the teabags very limited (2 left in packet)
Altogether had a lovely stay, just a shame about certain aspects

Our only big concerned was, for them to improve, that the apt was not well clean, considerable dust under the bed and behind the doors, in the carpets, kitchen appliances were very very dirty (food residues) or very old (pan, pots) but they did have enough dishes and glasses so we only use the dishwasher ones. We still would be staying again because the building and the balcony were very comfortable.
