Unbeatable location on fishermen's slipway overlooking the ocean!
The space
What a location! On the slipway just 50m from the beautiful sandy beach of Burgau with its world-famous beach bar you will find this converted fisherman's cottage. Though small in size, it makes up in character with sea views to die for! Positioned in the heart of this charming fishing village with its cobbled alleyways and a myriad of lovely restaurants all within easy walking distance. Fall asleep listening to the waves and wake up to the buzz of traditional village life.
Burgau is a true gem which has retained its traditional charm. Some of the best (surf) beaches and golf courses in the Western Algarve are within 15 minutes drive away. Casa Pedro is like a doll's house with relatively small rooms and narrow staircases. The accommodation consists of a one-bedroom duplex apartment on two floors with a top floor terrace with stunning views overlooking the ocean.

The neighborhood
Burgau is a quiet fishing village, situated between Lagos and Sagres. Sheltered from the wind by the cliffs on a small cove is the lovely Praia do Burgau. It is an excellent base for a relaxing beach holiday or to explore the beautiful Western Algarve. It has some amazing restaurants and bars facing the sea, and there are several other beautiful beaches in the area to explore. If your idea of the perfect holiday is to relax in the sun and swim in the sea, this village will provide everything your heart desires. Other things to do in the area include surfing, fishing, diving, golf, tennis and hiking.
Getting around
The best way to travel the Algarvarian coast is by boat or car. If you really want to explore the area, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier as public transport is limited but will also get you around.
You can park for free in Burgau. Parking in front of the apartment is not possible, but there is parking space in the surrounding area, just a short walk from the apartment.

The bedroom has no place to store any luggage, nor clothing really. We had to unpack in the kitchen. The plumbing was off gasing from time to time. That said, we'd stay here again.

Die Lage ist phantastisch. Fussläufig sind kleine Läden für den täglichen Bedarf sowie mehrere gute Restaurants erreichbar.
Das Parken in der Nähe war im Februar problemlos.
Burgau ist ein hübsches kleines Örtchen was auch viele Surfer anlockt und vom Balkon aus kann man dem Treiben herrlich zu sehen. Der Strand ist unmittelbar in der Nähe und selbst im Februar lädt er schon zum Baden ein. Auch kann man schöne Wanderungen über die Klippen nach Luz oder Salema unternehmen.
Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und es wird bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal sein.

De très beaux sentiers de randonnée à partir du logement avec vue sur la mer du haut des falaises, c’était magnifique.
Dans le logement, tout était conforme aux photos et à la description, c’était très propre.
Nous recommandons sans hésiter!

The little fishermans cottage was exactly what we had hoped for.The view from the balcony was amazing and the walk to the beach was 1 minute .The apartment offers everything you wish for, all the local resteraunts, supermarkets are right next to the apartment. We will definately book casa pedro again. Rental valley our air b hosts were excellent, communication was quick and they were very friendly and helpful....thank you xx

However, we are disappointed to learn that Casa Pedro did not fully meet your expectations. Regarding the size of the property and the furnishings, we would like to highlight that our photographs accurately depict the space to ensure that all potential guests have a clear understanding of what they are booking.
As for your comment about the listing being inaccurate for not having a television, this is not entirely correct. We understand that you encountered issues with connectivity, and it was unfortunate that despite sending a technician to resolve it, the problem reoccurred later that night. Due to high seasonal demand, we were unable to secure a second technician in time to fix the issue during your stay. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
In addition, we feel that the 2-star rating for communication might be a bit unfair. Our team responded promptly to all your messages throughout your stay, except during the hours of 10 PM to 8 AM when immediate replies are not always possible.
While we’re glad you enjoyed the location, being centrally situated does sometimes come with a bit of noise, as is typical of such areas.

Parkieren war mit etwas Geduld gerade so möglich. Manchmal mussten wir auf den grösseren Parkplatz aus weichen und konnten nicht auf der Strasse vor dem Haus parkieren. Das hat uns aber nicht besonders gestört. In der Hochsaison könnte es aber wahrscheinlich schwierig werden, einen Parkplatz im Dorf zu finden.
Wir haben die Atmosphäre in Burgau sehr genossen und der riesige Strand ist perfekt zum Entspannen, Laufen und Picknicken geeignet. Wir würden die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Cons: Bedroom is very very small, difficulty getting in & out of the bed due to bed flat up against the wall. Only way for one partner is to scooch to the bottom of the bed which has a large wooden bed frame. Lots of bruises!!
Not much room for clothes, shoes, suitcases in the fitted wardrobe which has limited access due to the bed! Ok for us as we travel light. Chest of drawers is outside the bedroom as no room in the bedroom.
Intermittent drain smells coming from the toilet pan.

The cottage is small with narrow stairs and a small bedroom, but this is all manageable - it's a fisherman's cottage! Bathroom and kitchen are sufficient.
Our favourite restaurant Miam is literally across the street, the beach is seconds away, and just up the street Love Burgau do fantastic cocktails.
The property company was very responsive and helpful when we needed. But overall the cottage needs some minor care and attention. Walls are all marked, sofa is threadbare and worn so much it was painful to lean on, and the shower drain was partly blocked.

la situation géographique est pratique pour visiter les alentours.
par contre, la literie est assez mauvaise pourle lit principal et pour le 3eme couchage en haut impossible de dormir au vu de l'état du matelas... très dommage...
nous avons aussi constaté un problème d'évacuation d'eau dans la salle de bain ..
malgré cela nous avons passé un agreale sejour dans ce petit village bucolique.

-Mobilio e oggetti d'uso vetusti ed estremamente rovinati
-Letto scomodissimo con materasso assolutamente da cambiare (era praticamente sfondato, dormire in campeggio sarebbe stato più comodo)
-Forte odore di fogna proveniente dal bagno e che tanfa tutto l'appartamento
-Non era disponibile e in dotazione uno stendino decente per stendere il bucato, men che meno delle mollette per fissare il bucato (disponibili 8 di legno marce)
-Oggetti sul balcone senza senso d'uso da buttare in discarica (come altre piccole cose all'interno dell'appartamento)
-Pareti da imbiancare
-In generale, struttura con molto potenziale ma estremamente trasandata nei dettagli.
La posizione e la vista non devono essere i soli criteti che giustificano il prezzo pagato. Chi pernotta in un appartamento con un costo di un certo tipo pretende dei servizi all'altezza di quanto è stato saldato (in anticipo).
Dopo la riservazione si riceve un documento legale con tutte le disposizioni e viene presa a garanzia la carta di credito per eventuali danni durante il pernottento. Quando si arriva nell'appartamento ci si preoccupa poiché tutto è rovinato e si prega il signore di non ricevere un addebito dei rottami e dei malfunzionamenti presenti nell'appartamento. Per scrivere questa recensione ho quindi aspettato su Booking risposta che una volta lasciato l'appartamento fosse tutto ok (mi è stato confermato che da parte mia non sono stati causati dei danni) e tutto perfetto, quindi senza brutte sorprese di addebiti.
Francamente ho trovato il tutto una vera e propria mancanza di rispetto per chi pernotta in questo appartamento. Ci ho trascorso quattro notti e ne sono uscita col mal di schiena e con le narici intasate di tanfo di fogna. Consiglio pertanto ai gestori (agenzia) di sistemare il tutto per i prossimi, perché è davvero un peccato andarsene così scontenti.

El olor a alcantarilla de vez en cuando en la planta baja (el baño), aunque se va al ventilar o encender alguna vela aromática. La planta baja y la escalera son bastante estrechas. El baño podría estar mejor. Pero son sólo detalles, en general todo muy bien.

- Perfect location—steps from the beach, great restaurants, and parking areas
- Very quiet, I never heard the neighbors (maybe noisier in summer?)
- Excellent hot water heater & water pressure—always had great long hot showers
- Great space heaters did a wonderful job of quickly heating the apartment in the winter months
- The kitchen is very well-equipped for cooking—pots, pans, lids, oil/salt/pepper, a nice induction hob
Cons:
- Teensy bedroom, barely bigger than the bed. Fit my suitcase only by putting it in the closet.
- Had some trouble arriving. The usual path was under construction, which the owners didn't know b/c they're a bigger rental agency; luckily a local helped me. Also the lock can be a bit tricky.
- Occasionally an odd smell from the bathroom sink. Sometimes sulfurous, sometimes some other sour smell

There should be some investment in new furniture in the living room and bathroom.
Would be nice to have fresh towels at least once a week. We were staying there more than three weeks and there was no cleaning nor fresh towels. When asking for that service we were told that this was not part of our booking. But it still was not offered to us. That can easily be improved.

L'acollida molt malament, l'adreça de la casa era incorrecta , no trobàvem la casa , telefonàrem a l'amfitrió y ,estant a Portugal no sabien portuguès només t'atenien en anglès, o sig , si no hagueren sabut parlar en anglès no se com hagueren pogut trobar la casa.
A més el quart de bany feia mala olor sempre per causa del sifó. El llit era molt incòmode

a lot of choice of restaurants at 2 minute walk
-booking page of the property has an address that is different from the location you booked
-area is under construction so the passage to the house, is cut off. so the address they give me to the house has no passage. I needed to walk with a lot of baggage all around to get there.
-nauseating smell from the sewage in the w.c. and sink. toilet brush also dirty and stinking.
- Towels were very old and tearing apart
- the bed it’s like an pudim flan, when you wake up the mattress has your body imprint
- EXTREMELY DIRTY. this place is not cleaned besides the basics of putting linens and fresh towels. a lot of dishes all dirty in the cabinets, found a small piece of food in the drawer of the utensils. There was a white basket rotten with hundreds of bugs inside it (whiteflies). Spider webs everywhere, and with no excuses because the ceilings are very low. the table beside the bed with the drawer destroyed and so dirty, it could make any one gag, wc with a window cleaning utensil on the shelve of the shower, completely out of place.
the ceiling fan over the bed has crazy amounts of dust that must have been accumulating over years ( at the reach of an arm)
- the wc door is jammed and it’s very annoying open and closing it
- Wi-Fi was close to none. we had an average of 2/3 megabits per second.

- starker Gestank nach Abfluss aus dem Bad
- die Tür zum Bad ist durch einen Wasserschaden aufgequollen und schließt nicht mehr ordentlich bzw. nur noch sehr laut
- der Duschabfluss war komplett mit Haaren etc. verstopft. Um eine weitere Überschwemmung im Bad zu verhindern musste ich den Abfluss noch vor dem ersten Duschen selbst reinigen
- insgesamt ziemlich abgenutzte Möbel
- der vergleichsweise hohe Preis pro Nacht ist aufgrund dessen keinesfalls gerechtfertigt

Es ist sehr auf britische Urlauber ausgerichtet, selbst das Fernsehen bietet noch nicht mal einen portugiesischen Nachrichtensender.
