Come and stay at this beautiful apartment in the Algarve and you will have a great holiday! Situated in the quaint village of Praia Da Luz, 5 km west of Lagos, the Mariners Apartments are just a few steps from the beach and offer the ideal location for your relaxing holiday. There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied during your holiday with us at Praia da Luz. These include swimming, biking and hiking. Or maybe you’d like to go snorkeling, horse-riding, surfing or water-skiing, it is also a great base for golfing activities. This place is perfect for couples or a small family with kids.
This ground floor apartment offers everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay, with 1 bedroom (1 double bed, 1 sleeping sofa) and 1 bathroom. It also features a large balcony, a modern fully equipped kitchen, and a .
You’ll find the apartment on the ground floor of the building, just next to the stairs. As you enter, you'll notice some closet space right in front of you. To the left, the fully equipped kitchen is ready for preparing meals. To the right, you’ll find the bathroom with a toilet and shower. Moving straight ahead, you’ll enter the living/dining/sleeping area, which has 2 single beds pushed together to form a double bed, a sleeping sofa, and a regular couch. The living area opens to a North-East facing balcony, perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Don't forget the shared rooftop with breathtaking views over the Luz Bay
For your comfort, the living/dining/sleeping area is equipped with an AC unit, and there are electric heaters on the wall for cooler nights.

The neighborhood
Luz is a quaint little holiday getaway along the Algarvian coastline. Shops, bars and restaurants and a beautiful beach are right on your doorstep. Set amidst spectacular coastal scenery you can take your time to explore the stunning cliffs, undiscovered beaches, neighboring quaint villages and the national park. It’s just a 15-minute drive to the regional capital, Lagos, if you want a bit more action.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.
Free public parking nearby. Parking in front of the apartment is not always possible in summer, but there will be plenty of space in the surrounding streets.

Leider ist die Wohnung sehr verbaut; extrem großer Flur, Küche mit großem Schrank in der Mitte des Raumes, dadurch sehr eng!
Schlechtes Licht und Lärm durch den Abzug im Badezimmer!
Durch den Verschnitt nur Schlaf-Wohnzimmer direkt vor dem Balkon ( Einsicht Passanten aufs Bett, aber AUCH auf den Balkon, somit fast keine Privatsphäre)
WLan, Fernseher nicht brauchbar!
Fazit!
Die traumhafte Lage holt das alles wieder 'raus! Viele negative Punkte wären durch genauere Kontrolle des Vermieters vermeidbar gewesen!
Zum Schlafen dort ok, da tatsächlich ab 23 Uhr im Bistro direkt unter der Wohnung Ruhe war!

Very bright and spacious apartment. A little noise heard between apartments. lots of handy kitchenware. Very safe area at night. Couldn't get the coffee machine to work, may be user error but would be handy to have instructions for guests as well as to note the pods to buy for the machine.

Everything was super clean, the balcony is such a privilege and the restaurant underneath wasn't too loud in our experience, it had cute lights and nice music so it just added to the ambient.

Die Umgebung bzw. die Unterkunft sieht aus wie auf den Bildern und man ist in 3 Minuten am Strand und kommt auf dem kurzen Weg an diversen Restaurants und Bars vorbei.
Also wir waren vollumfänglich zufrieden.
Einzig für Personen mit einem seichten Schlaf bzw. Ein- oder Durchschlafschwierigkeiten würde ich von der Unterkunft abraten. Direkt darunter ist eine gut besuchte Tapasbar, vor der Wohnung eine höher frequentierte Straße und direkt vor dem Balkon ist eine helle Laterne.
Wir hatten damit jedoch kein Problem.
Alles in allem eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft.

Nach dem Einchecken sind gleich schmutziges Geschirr und übel riechende Abschlüsse (bes. im Bad) aufgefallen.
In der Unterkunft hat uns ausreichend Klopapier (nur 2 Rollen für eine Woche bei 2 Pers.), Reinigungsmittel und das beschriebene Shampoo gefehlt. Es war grundsätzlich super, dass es Strandsachen gab (z.B.Spielzeug, Schirm), aber diese waren teilweise kaputt. Leider waren wir während unseres Aufenthalts von mehreren Stromausfälle betroffen. Der Kontakt mit dem Host war schnell hergestellt, aber eine richtige Lösung konnte nicht gefunden werden. Somit haben wir uns die Tage einfach dran gewöhnt bzw. hat es auch autom. Nach 1h meistens wieder geklappt.
Lage zum Strand ist super, zu betonen ist aber, dass sich unter der Wohnung ein sehr beliebtes Restaurant befindet und es demnach lauter werden kann.
Wir empfehlen hier grundsätzlich auch mal Dinge auszutauschen/zu ersetzen (Pfannen, Gläser..)

The sheets were stained and the apartment smelled musty. We immediately contacted the host, who, despite his efforts, was not able to get us clean sheets until the next day. The customer service was good and we understand that it is difficult to get a cleaning team there on a Sunday evening. However, we decided to change accommodation because the smell didn't go away even if we kept the doors and windows open and it actually made me feel sick. Also the toilet was poorly cleaned.
The location of the apartment was good and condition as in the pictures. Noises from the restaurant downstairs did not disturb us. However, I would not recommend it if you are looking for quiet accommodation.

A few small details for comfort: new towels and pillows would make a world of difference (or bring your own!), and the mattress was rather uncomfortable. A slightly earlier check in time would be ideal. None of these items would preclude us staying here again - it's a truly sweet space in an excellent location.

- There is a street lamp almost in the balcony. It really disturbs during evening and night times. But there is nothing to do from the host and/or agent side.
- Balcony door did not lock properly. Host could not fix it but they found a solution.

WC-Spülung undicht, Balkontür nicht verriegelbar - jederzeit hätte jemand einbrechen können, keine neuen Handtücher bei zwei Wochen Aufenthalt, es wurde bei zwei Wochen Aufenthalt nicht ein einziges mal geputzt (zu beiden Anliegen hatten wir der Vermieter Agentur geschrieben, welche uns antworteten, dass das nicht im Preis enthalten ist und sie aber, wenn wir darauf bestehen, mal nachsehen kann, ob sie was für uns machen kann und das wir ja eine Waschmaschine hätten um die Handtücher und Wohnung zu reinigen), kein neues WC Papier, sehr hellhöriges Haus, kein Parkplatz (wir mussten teilweise mit Einkäufen und Strandequipment über 500m zum Haus laufen), Haus direkt am Hang -> laute Autos, Duschstange defekt/rutscht beim Duschen permanent runter), sehr unfreundliche Putzleute am Abreisetag, die uns vor dem Check-out zeitpunkt schon aus dem Apartment haben wollten
All das für einen harten Preis von über 1500,00€!

Nice place to stay basically at the beach.
The rooms are ideal for 2 people and the kitchen was fully equipment.
Very central and clean apartment.
Cons:
Internet connection was very poor/non-existing for almost 100% of the time in the entire apartment. Our problem was solved only 1 week after our arrival with the new router and with this we had to use our mobile data during the whole week.
The walls are not so good (sound proofing) as we could hear our side and upstairs neighbors.
The curtains don't block completely the sun.
We though we have some cons, it was certainly a nice stay and we recommend it for future visitors.
