Newly refurbished 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the swimming pool area at the Baia da luz resort
The space
Find all the comfort and luxury in this great 2 floor apartment situated at the resort Baia da Luz in the popular beach town Praia da Luz. Architecturally, the resort was designed with Arab influences, in a Roman style, being divided into 3 buildings, which form a pleasant feeling of an inner village.
The apartment is divided in two floors. On the entrance floor you will find the living area and fully equipped kitchen and the bathroom. All a high quality finish, with modern equipment and accessories, including TV, AC in all the rooms, electric window locking system. Giving access to a big private balcony in front and a semi shared terrace on the back.
On the second floor you will find a big space with 2 single beds and storage room. Also a sleeping sofa which provides two extra sleeping places.

The apartment is nextdoor of The Italian Alloro restaurant, enjoys a view over the pool, leisure areas and a garden area. For those interested in Golf, there are 4 Golf courses nearby, in a space of 5 to 20 minutes by car.

The neighborhood
Praia da Luz is a small resort town located on the incredible Algarve coastline 10km west of Lagos. Praia da Luz or just Luz, was originally a small fishing village on the edge of sandy bay surrounded by cliffs. This sandy bay sheltered by cliffs means it’s a perfect family beach destination. Although the town is now more of a holiday resort it still retains some of the original features from its historical past. The bigger town Lagos is less than 10 minutes' drive away and in the other direction, you will find many small beach towns and breathtaking beaches. Perfect for family, beach and watersport (surf) trips.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours. You can walk into town and the beach from the apartment
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.

The entrance to the apartment is out onto a car park where there are camper vans parked at night. We had no issues but did put me on edge at times.

The apartment is bright and spacious. The only downside is that the windows in the upper room can’t be opened. A perfect stay!

Also broken dining room chairs meant no family meals, missing linens and towels, and missing soap despite being listed as an amenity. Host wasn’t helpful with resolving issues.

We are truly sorry to hear that you and your family experienced these issues during your stay, and we completely understand how frustrating this must have been. The situation with the bed and the chairs should not have happened, but as soon as we were made aware of the problems, we immediately sent our maintenance team to address them.
We’re happy to confirm that both the bed and the chairs have been fully repaired to ensure future guests enjoy their stay without any disruptions.
As for the missing linens, they were dropped off the following day, and we hope this helped to make things more comfortable during the remainder of your stay.

Location is great for just walking to the beach and parking was also very easy.
The upstairs sleeping area just didn’t have any windows to open which made the air up there not so nice.
Overall great place and cute terrace directly at the pool!

The luz beach is a 10 min walk away and is a lovely beach.
The apartment is located on floors 1 and 2 with balaconies on both sides. There are two pools, which are very well maintained. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay!

There is also a tennis court. At the reception you can rent rackets for 5€! We really enjoyed our stay! And looking forward for coming back!

1. Przedsiębiorstwo wynajmujące apartament zażyczyło sobie (dwa tygodnie przed pierwszym noclegiem, czyli dokładnie moment po upływie daty możliwości darmowego odwołania rezerwacji!) wpłaty kaucji. Uważam, że to czysta kpina. W ofercie nigdzie nie zaznaczono, że kaucja jest wymagana. Kaucja miała być wpłacona na zewnętrznym portalu (czyli nie przez booking!).
Po skontaktowaniu się z wynajmującym zaproponowano mi - jako alternatywę dla kaucji - napisanie dokumentu, w którym zobowiązuje się „do pokrycia wszystkich szkód”, które spowoduje. Nawiasem dodam, że na miejscu nikt nie zechciał odebrać tego „przyrzeczenia”.
2. Warto wiedzieć, że apartamenty obsługiwane są przez firmę niezależną od hotelu Baia da Luz. W konsekwencji recepcja nie udzieli jakiejkolwiek informacji związanej z apartamentem, nie odpowie na pytanie czy apartament jest gotowy oraz nie bierze odpowiedzialności za pobyt w apartamencie.
3. W obiekcie było wiele „niedociągnięć”: odpadająca rurka na ręczniki w łazience, niedomykająca się kanapa, zepsuty przycisk spłuczki. Drobnostki, aczkolwiek z uwagi na próbę uzyskania od klientów kaucji, która dodatkowo nie jest autoryzowana przez booking, radziłabym wszystko dokładnie sprawdzić i sfotografować.

Er kon geen raam open in de slaapkamer waardoor we beneden moesten luchten. Airco stond daardoor aan terwijl dit niet had gehoeven als we konden luchten.
Eén dag hadden we wel overlast van muziek bij het zwembad en dat klinkt dan heel erg door. Andere dagen was het heerlijk rustig maar je kan dus ook pech hebben als dit je hele vakantie gebeurt.

L'appartement se situe dans un complexe très bien entretenu : nettoyage quotidien des parties communes et des deux piscines ainsi que désinfection des chaises longues tout au long de la journée par deux employées de l'hôtel.
Un restaurant italien et un bar se trouvent également sur place : bonne cuisine et prix abordables.
Pas de remplacement de serviettes pendant notre séjour de deux semaines.
Frigo vide à notre arrivée (certaines agences prévoient un petit quelque chose pour le jour d'arrivée de leurs clients). Mais rien de très grave compte tenu de la qualité du lieu.

There was nobody coming in person to give us some instructions and go through damages that were already there. We were just told in the regulations we have to pay for damages.
After I mentioned some broken pieces I was just told to make a list and send photos. This would have been the moment to appear in person from side of rental valley.
The beds, as well as the pillow and bedcover were the cheapest quality one can get. The nights were horrible.
Windows in the bedroom cannot be opened and in the regulations we got we were asked to turn off the aircondition during the night. One can imagine the quality of sleep.
Some further issues regarding the pool were pushed to responsibility of Baia da Luz.
They generally were really friendly, but at the end they did not try to solve any problems.
We are definitely not coming again.
