    Location is very good - check in was fine - have to say the actual property could use some updating - description says newly renovated. However, seems some things could use further updating especially bathrooms. All in all, it is an good space if you are ok with a little 'rough around the edges'

    Wir hatten uns sehr auf den ersten großen Urlaub mit unseren Kindern (7 Monate, 3 Jahre) gefreut, leider war in der Unterkunft so viel Schimmel, dass wir vorzeitig ausziehen mussten, da eine Schimmelsanierung notwendig wäre. Und das, obwohl das Haus angeblich frisch renoviert ist. Was offenkundig nicht den Tatsachen entspricht. Eine Ersatzunterkunft oder Rückerstattung hat der Gastgeber abgelehnt. Hinzu kam der starke Baulärm durch Bauarbeiten direkt gegenüber. Insgesamt raten wir jedem von einem Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft ab.

    Le logement est spacieux et à proximité de la belle plage de Salema, mais n’a pas de charme; la cuisine n’est pas fonctionnelle ( sans compter la vaisselle ébréchée et dépareillée) et il y a des problèmes de refoulements et d’écoulements d’eau usée qui ont gêné notre séjour. La literie et surtout les oreillers ne sont pas qualitatifs. Sympa pour 2/3 nuits, au delà les points négatifs de font trop ressentir.

    The place was clean and tidy inside with the outside, needing updated furniture. The owners were amenable to an early check in which was much appreciated. The location is noisy due to the number of dogs. Unfortunately, this, along with building work being carried out directly opposite, meant it was not possible to sit outside and relax or have a lay in past 7.30am. Although the latter was outside the control of the owners, it would have been good to have been informed of this at the time of making the booking as I would have stayed else where.

    This rental would be top notch with a little attention to details as stated above, soap in showers, laundry soap, paper towels, cork screw, duvet covers, etc. Also, it should be clear in the listing that there is no freezer in the refrigerator and the oven is basically just a toaster oven. The coffee pot hardly works. A very negative thing happened an hour after we were there. The lock on the door is in lock position all the time. We were having dinner on the patio and my husband pulled the door shut, locking the keys inside, a total accident. I called the property management company and they said they couldn’t bring extra keys over, which is ridiculous. They called a locksmith which I had to pay for, a whopping 100 euro. Very disconcerting to say the least. I won’t rent from someone using a property company again. I like a personal touch with a responsive host.

  21. We travelled a month across the Algarve. This was our least favourite stay. Other properties were nicer for less money.

    Positive: It was clean Negative: Barking dog next door. No freezer in the fridge. Bedrooms up a steep winding staircase. Very dangerous patio situation. I took a very bad fall on this patio. There is a 20 cm step curving through the middle. Hanging clothes I stepped off and had very bad fall. Very steep climb to get home from town Center.

    Positive: We appreciated the size of the unit. We were able to spread out and each of the three of us was comfortable. Enjoyed the outdoor space. Negative: The climb uphill was a challenge, but you couldn’t change that😉.

    Positive: Ligging in Salema was goed en dicht bij alles op wandelafstand. 2 badkamers, ruime living,.. Negative: Matras waren niet comfortabel (goedkoop). Dubbel bed was niet breed. Er was geen gordijnverduistering en straatlantaarn scheen fel in de kamer. Sliepen niet goed.

  33. Spacious apartment walking distance to Salema Beach

    Positive: It was just a few minutes walk to Salema beach and the apartment was spacious with comfortable beds. Negative: It would have been nice if they had provided beach towels since you don’t really have room to pack those in your suitcase. They asked us to be sure to empty all the trash the day we left. It was just one more thing we had to do when we were trying to pack and get out the door. When you’re on vacation, you don’t want to have to remember things like that. It seems like they could have done that when they cleaned the apartment after we left. Also the wifi wasn’t working when we got there, we finally reset the modem and got it working. It would be helpful to include that in their list of instructions.

    We enjoyed the two story rental. Steps away from the beach. Quiet location. A/C works well. We did a load of wash and sun dried the clothing with the supplied drying rack. Everything worked well. Adorable town, safe, great beach, nice restaurants and people.

    Not too much to complain about. Excellent rental with fantastic location about a 5 minute walk from Salema beach. The balcony of the main bedroom was much appreciated. There was also an electrical converter plug in the room as well which was much appreciated. Would like a more traditional Portuguese decor. This location looked as if it was deisigned by an American with a "Beach Airbnb" starter kit. Haha Also, they really should have provided basics like shampoo, conditioner, soap, and detergent. I really appreciated the prompt and accurate help when I called the help line. The woman was excellent at helping me find the rental.

    Positive: The location is great! It’s a nice, very comfortable apartment. Negative: There wasn’t enough towels in the kitchen and one of the toilets wasn’t working. The shower downstairs needed a good cleaning and was not draining. These are easy problems to fix. We would stay here again.

    Positive: Das Townhouse liegt wunderschön oberhalb des Ortskerns innerhalb einer Reihenhaussiedlung. Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Der Kontakt über das Vermittlungsbüro war ausgesprochen nett und unkompliziert über WhatsApp. Negative: Mir würde es gut gefallen, da das Haus sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet ist, dass man auf Eßservice, Kochutensilien, Gläser und auch auf das Besteck etwas Wert legt.

    Positive: outdoor patio was great Negative: Kitchen cabinet door was falling off and ants in the bathroom when we arrived. We reached out to management and received no response. Salema is a cute tiny town but, the apartment complex was full of weeds.

    Positive: Nicely located on walking distance of restaurants, shops and beach in a quiet neighborhood. With two bathrooms and two bedrooms you have everything you need. Parking is possible nearby. Netflix is a very nice option during a rainy afternoon, but fortunately, there were not many. Negative: Few minor details: There's a smell of cat piss in the area where the washing machine is located. There isn't much mood lighting. We were unable to close the shutters so it's very bright during the night. Locking the door is difficult. The kitchen is very illogical (designed by men?). Be carefull not to break your legs over the carpet. You get a lot of emails from the owner to automate the check-inn process and they're a bit unclear. They will ask for your email eg, but you get an error when you fill this out. Apparently you have to fill out your address. So be creative in your answers. But as said, these are minor details.

  65. Een heerlijk verblijf gehad in Salema

    Positive: - de locatie. De locatie is echt geweldig. Super dicht bij het strand, mooi uitzicht! - de tuin. Heerlijk om buiten te kunnen zitten. - de bbq. Prachtig ding! - goed inventaris. Genoeg borden, bestek, er was afwasmiddel en gewoon de kleine dingetjes, heel fijn! - 2 persoonsbed lag heerlijk - goede parkeer gelegenheid - het verblijf was super schoon bij aankomst - de inrichting was erg leuk Negative: - de boiler stond uit. In de welkom gids stond hier helaas niets over vermeld, dat zou wel fijn zijn. Het duurde een paar koude douches voordat we door hadden dat er een boiler was. - de sloten. De sloten op de deuren zijn oud, doen het niet of gaan stuk als je het wilt gebruiken. Een van onze gasten heeft snachts vast gezeten in de badkamer en werd pas bevrijd na 1,5 uur toen de brandweer ter plaatse was. - de tuin deur. De tuin deur kan niet dicht. Er zit wel een slot op maar hij valt niet in het slot zeg maar. Zodra het een beetje waait (wat het heel veel doet op deze locatie) gaat de deur gelijk open - windschermen in de tuin. De tuin is omringt door een stene muur met windschermen daarop. Eén van de schermen lag op de grond toen we aankwamen omdat hij niet goed paste. - bbq. De bbq artikelen waren allemaal verroest.
