The space
Find all the comfort and luxury in this great 2-floor apartment situated at the resort Baia da Luz in the popular beach town Praia da Luz. Architecturally, the resort was designed with Arab influences, in a Roman style, being divided into 3 buildings, which form a pleasant feeling of an inner village.
The apartment provides an entrance in to a big living area with attached a big sunny balcony, where you can easly start your moring or calm down after a adventures day at the beach! Also from the fully equipped kitchen you will have access tot that balcony. It provides max sleeping space for 4 persons. With a room with a double bed and 2 single beds in the second room. The apartment is from a high quality finish, with modern equipment and accessories, including TV, AC in all the rooms, electric window locking system.

The neighborhood
Praia da Luz is a small resort town located on the incredible Algarve coastline 10km west of Lagos. Praia da Luz or just Luz, was originally a small fishing village on the edge of sandy bay surrounded by cliffs. This sandy bay sheltered by cliffs means it’s a perfect family beach destination. Although the town is now more of a holiday resort it still retains some of the original features from its historical past. The bigger town Lagos is less than 10 minutes' drive away and in the other direction, you will find many small beach towns and breathtaking beaches. Perfect for family, beach and watersport (surf) trips.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours. You can walk into town and the beach from the apartment
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.

Auch etwas unvorteilhaft ist die Position der Mülleimer außen. In drei Nächten war die Müllabfuhr fleißig und hat zum Beispiel um 4 Uhr morgens die Glascontainer geleert. Leider in direkter Lage zu einem Schlafzimmer. Aber dafür können natürlich die Vermieter nichts!

Lovely surroundings and pool close by.
Washing machine and dishwasher.
In a minor note we found limited cutlery and glassware in the kitchen for eg. Only three knives and 3 wine glasses provided. The description stated that Netflix could be accessed on the television however we were unable to access it.

Tip aan de eigenaar: doe een keer onderhoud aan vloeren, beschermdopjes onder stoelen, etc om het appartement in goede conditie te houden.

There are no supplies in the apartment (think late night arrival and no coffee in the morning!) and the noise of the neighbours moving furniture above was frequent! The electric also tripped very regularly but was easy to switch back on with the fuse board next to the front door.
Apartment complex is lovely. Two pools - one busy one for the children and a quiet adult only pool. The Alloro restaurant provided great pool side drinks & a nice evening meal.
Apartment is well located. Walk to the sea front took a few minutes and the beach is beautiful. The village is quite small and there are a couple of shops for essentials. Larger supermarkets were easy to find in neighbouring Lagos (5-10 minute drive).

1 Patio chair was broken & the living room is very sparsely filled, 1 couch and 1 small chair.
1 patio door was close to getting jammed and took 2 of us to close it, the sliders were broken. The lock on the other patio door was broken. We reported both issues which were fixed within 24 hours.
The towels provided absolutely stank, I could smell them from 5 ft away as if they were stored somewhere damp and mouldy. We had to wash these on a high temp wash before we could use them. We had to pay an additional deposit online outside the bookings.com website which I thought was a bit odd and checked it wasn't spam. Beach/Pool towels are not included in the apartment, you have to pay extra for them and reception were very clear not to contact them if anything went wrong but to contact the owners or who we booked it through. The balcony on this apartment doesn't get sun all day. Also the shutter buttons could do with some maintenance but did work OK.

The equipments in the apartment is very minimal, and the electricity is rather unstable. We have to call to get someone to fix during the last day of the year. The rental company and electrician is very helpful and with quick fix. No nespresso machine which in the other apartment is standard (that's because this is private owned).

Kitchen: No plug in the sink therefore potential for waste of water. Drinking glasses are thick/heavy jam jar quality. Sliding doors to balcony requires maintenance/ difficult to open. Ceiling light needs a brighter bulb.
Lounge: tv speakers are of poor quality. Net curtains don't fit the window. Settee uncomfortable.
Balcony: One folding chair is broken and should be repaired or discarded.
Bedrooms: Electric shutters- switches require maintenance.
General: The accommodation, whilst spacious, lacks the feel of a home. We were doubtful whether the owners had spent time living in it. A shame, as with more care on details it could be very good. We have stayed at Baia da Luz on several occasions and unfortunately this property did not match the others.
