This 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with spacious balcony is located on top of the cliffs right behind Porto de Mos. It's just a couple of minutes by car from the center of Lagos while Porto de Mos beach, the gorgeous cliffs and Ponta da Piedade are just a stone's throw away. The apartment is perfect for a family or 2 couples traveling together.
The space
This modern and bright apartment is located just 5min walking to Porto de Mos beach and the surrounding cliffs. It's comfortable with quality furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen. It is the perfect getaway for those who want to enjoy the beach, but not be too far away from the hustle and bustle in the historical town of Lagos. And when you've had enough of the ocean and sand, you can enjoy the shared swimming pool as well.

The neighborhood
The apartment is located in the touristic but quiet Porto de Mos area of Lagos, right behind Porto de Mos beach. You will have your toes in the sand within 5 minutes walking from the apartment. There are some small (food) shops and a great choice of restaurants in the residential area behind. You will also find 2 restaurants directly on the beach.
The famous cliffs of Lagos (incl Ponte da Piedade) are literally around the corner of your apartment and can easily be reached by foot. Lagos downtown can be reached by foot but for those who want to avoid the steep hills, it is also very easy to go by car or bus.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier. You can park for free on and around the park.

The apartment is modern furnished but the furnishment ist very used, especially the couch, carpet and the kitchen. Some drawers were broked, but it would be easy to fix.
The floor was not very clean, but the rest was fine.
So overall we spend 5 weeks during winter there. It war very quite, the Wifi was very good. So we can recommend it!!!

Leider waren die Matratzen und Kissen viel zu weich, so dass wir nicht gut schlafen konnten und Rückenschmerzen hatten. Das Sofa war durchgesessen. Viele der Schubladen in der Küche waren defekt und liessen sich nur mit wiederholtem Drücken schliessen. Die Beleuchtung im Wohnzimmer war zu hell bzw. es gab kein angenehmes Stimmungslicht. Das Wasser in einem der Waschbecken floss sehr langsam ab. Ohne diese behebbaren, aber teils bedeutenden Mängel würden wir die Unterkunft als "hervorragend" bewerten.

10 min. walk and you are at the beach of Porto Mos. Nice beach and at night you can enjoy the sunset with a walk over the cliffs. The best bit is east and west facing balconies and west faces the wild looking Atalaia - wonderful at sunset. You can wash your cloth, hang it outside and a cople of hours, all is try.
We would stay again!
Maybe a bit inconvenient:
- Bathroom had a schower cabine & the doors could fall off.
- Washingmachine with no instructions (programm 1 - 9), who knows?

Nice location - very peaceful and walkable to a beautiful beach for surfing/sunbathing.

The location was beyond casual walking distance from the nearest resort. Fortunately, we had a hired car!

Warning- This apartment is tricky to find! You cannot see the building/apartment number from the road and the GPS directions on air bnb took us to a four way intersection with no indication of where to go.
After we found it the accommodation was very nice with the best mattresses we had of all our stays. The climate control did not work well in the ensuite bedroom or in the living room. The location is close to one of the beaches and a couple of great restaurants but other than that Lagos itself is too far away to walk to easily.
There was no bath soap or shampoo so you'll need to bring your own. Also papertowels and extra trash bags are a good idea. When we left we could not find where to drop our trash bags. I messaged the host and he was not able to help us.
Overall we would probably stay again but there are a few caveats to be aware of.

Zu Fuß kann man an den Klippen entlang zum Strand laufen, den Ortskern von Lagos erreicht man am besten mit dem Auto. Da es sich bei Porto de Mós um eine reine Wohnsiedlung handelt, gibt es hier keinen Supermarkt, Restaurants o.ä.
Kleine Mankos der Unterkunft:
Schubläden und Schränke in der Küche lassen sich nicht ganz einfach öffnen und schließen, es ist Fingerspitzengefühl gefragt. Der Geschirrspüler funktioniert zwar, reinigt das Geschirr aber leider nicht gut, so dass wir von Hand spülen mussten. Der Staubsauger war leider auch kaputt - diese Infos haben wir dem Reinigungsteam mitgegeben, so dass nachgebessert werden kann.
Alles in allem kann ich einen Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft empfehlen!

The only thing we really disliked were the bathrooms. The curtain of the bathtube was dirty, so we decided not to shower in that room. And the other bathroom had a schower cabine & the door always fall off. So it was not really confortable to take a shower!
If this would be repaired/changed, the apartement would be a dream!

Pour le centre historique, vous devez avoir une voiture sinon c'est un peu loin.
La cour intérieure avec la piscine est superbe!
Endroit paisible.
Je suis mitigé pour l'appartement... il est beau certes, mais plusieurs choses nous ont apportées des irritants durant le séjour : forte odeur de fosse sceptique la 1ère journée, les batteries de toutes les manettes étaient à plats, nous avons manqué de papier de toilette, les tiroirs de la cuisine qu'on doit se battre avec pour les ouvrir ou fermer, manque de prises de courant dans la cuisine.
À part ces désagréments, tout était bien !

It would be nice if there were a couple more amenities provided such as beach towels, milk or coffee as the closest supermarket is a 24 minute walk.

My only suggestion is to add a not in the arrival instructions that the unit it at the top right of the road because you cannot see the building number 80 from the road so we had to walk around and ask for help to find it.
The unit is well stocked and we were able to get a late checkout as no one was staying the day we left which was much appreciated.

But my opinion is if you there for 14 days you expect more towels.
And a couple beach towels should be great to.
I know there is a wasmachine but it takes a couple days to let it dry.
Same for your bed sheets a couple extra should be nice.
For the rest it is a great apartment lots of room.
And if you go right out of your apartment you can walk a lot.

Der Pool war die ganze Woche dreckig und wurde am Abend vor unserer Abreise gereinigt. Geschirr war nicht sauber. Wir hatten Mühe das Appartment zu finden, ds kein Personal anwesend war.

The key to apartment door did not open door easily. It took a fair bit of jiggling about to get key to open door. Could have done with another set of towels and instructions for TV.

Sauberkeit leider unzureichend - insbesondere die Küche/Schränke und Geschirr waren nicht sauber; Staub und Dreck unter den Betten; Badezimmer ok aber etwas klein.
