The space
This property is a 2-minute walk from the beach. Right in the heart of Albufeira, located within a short distance of Peneco Beach and Pescadores Beach, N°7 offers free WiFi, air conditioning and household amenities such as a fridge and electric teapot.

The neighborhood
The cottage is located smack in the middle of old town Albufeira, very close to the beach and just around the corner from lots of restaurants, shops, and bars, and therefore a popular tourist destination. As the cottage is located at the end of a dead-end residential street, you are in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, but still in a quiet and calm place.
Getting around
You can easily get around on foot or use public transport or taxi/uber to travel around town. If you wish to explore the larger Algarve area, a hire car is recommended. Parking in old town Albufeira is challenging, therefore we recommend you to use one of the parking areas on the outskirts of the city and walk or take a taxi from there.

Durch die zentrale Lage, war es jeden Tag bis spät in die Nacht sehr laut.
Wir hatten Probleme mit der Klimaanlage im oberen Stockwerk, da sie extrem tropfte, sobald sie eingeschaltet war. Wir mussten zwei Töpfe darunter stellen, weil sonst eine riesige Pfütze auf dem Boden entstanden wäre. Das Wasser ist bis auf den Nachttisch getropft auf dem ein Handy lag, welches zum Laden am Strom angeschlossen war. Gott sei Dank haben wir es früh genug bemerkt. Wir haben die Vermietung mehrmals über Booking angeschrieben und das Problem geschildert, aber leider ist niemand rausgekommen und hat sich um das Problem gekümmert. Außerdem ging das WLAN nur sehr schlecht und auch deswegen haben wir die Vermietung kontaktiert, aber leider haben wir nur schriftliche Anweisungen über Booking bekommen, die wir durchführen sollten, welche nicht funktioniert Haben.

Het appartement heeft wel wat achterstallig onderhoud nodig. Stoelen zijn vies en barkrukken echt tot de draad toe versleten. Enkel een gordijn tussen woonkamer en slaapkamer. De badkamer beneden is groot genoeg en netjes. De douche boven zo klein dat je er net onder kan staan. S'avonds hoor je tot laat wel de muziek en het uitgaans publiek. Het appartement is moeilijk te vinden en een nieuw slot, op de overigens schattige voordeur, is geen overbodige luxe.

Abbiamo trovato la finestra del soggiorno che non so chiudeva ed essendo la finestra su strada abbiamo segnalato alla proprietà che era poco sicuro. La proprietà ci ha assicurato che avrebbe provveduto e abbiamo lasciato le chiavi per permettere l’intervento. Nessuno si e’ presentato nei nostri 3 giorni di soggiorno e quindi la finestra e’ rimasta aperta. La proprietà non ha fatto nulla e non si e’ preoccupata di sapere se l intervento era stato fatto.

Wifi didn’t work for our stay which was a big shame and quite an issue for international travellers.
The owner tried to fix it but I think they should have ensured this was sorted prior to our arrival.
The upstairs bedroom could be quite loud at night with all the parties on the street.

Front bedroom was noisy, but we expected that with it being so close to the old town square. Would have been helpful for the instructions to explain where the front door was, it was hard to find even with the pinpoint location provided.

There were only 2 proper chairs to sit on, the other 2 were camping chairs. We had 2 teenagers with us so didn't really need the chairs as the kids preferred to stay in their bedroom, but it wouldn't be great with 4 adults (or sociable kids), as the camping chairs weren't very comfortable.
There were 2 doors to enter the property - a split storm door - which was very narrow to get in & out of unless you unlocked both sides of the door - then a regular door just inside the storm doors. Both doors needed locked with a key and there was only 1 key for each door. It would be much better with either 2 sets of keys or with a Yale type lock on at least one of the doors so it's secured from the outside but can be opened from the inside without a key. It caused us some problems when some wanted to stay in bed for a sleep while the others went out as there's no door-bell. The choice was to lock them in or leave the door unlocked, and neither option was ideal.

Wir sind absolut nicht Lärmempfindlich, aber das war uns zu viel.
Nicht nachzuvollziehen war die Reinigungsgebühr die wir bezahlt haben, da wir Müll etc. selbst entsorgen mussten beim Verlassen des Apartments.
Die Unterkunft an sich ist schön und war im erwarteten Zustand anzutreffen, einfacher Check in über eine Schlüsselbox. Lage: mitten im Altstadt-Zentrum, nahe Restaurants und Strand.

So noisy every night. We never expected it to be so loud from live music followed by techno music plus screeching from passers by.
Air con leaking in upstairs bedroom drenched a pillow and corner of single bed. We communicated this but received polite replies but no action.
Asked for late check out but cleaners weren’t informed. We got a phone call asking us to leave followed by an apology when we explained that we
had been offered until 12. So poor communication between the various partners. All 3 of us used the downstairs shower as the upstairs one was tiny.

Kein persönlicher Kontakt. Anreise schwierig und Schlüssel in einer Keybox.

Beds comfortable, air conditioner great, modern kitchen with everything you need, great showers, small sun terrace upstairs which was private and easy to access. Had issues with WiFi when we arrived, Jacqueline got this fixed for us very quickly.
We travelled with two teenage girls and the location of this place allowed them to come and go as they pleased
The convenience of being so centrally located in the old town meant the nightlife noise was very loud and it went on until 4-5am. This is not the fault of the property as it is very close to a bar which provides live rock bands but if you are looking for a good night's sleep, this is not the place for you.
While the sun terrace was a lovely asset it could do with some attention, it could be so much nicer.

Musique très forte jusqu’à 3h du matin aux alentours, très audible de l’intérieur du logement. Prévoir des bouchons pour les oreilles! À éviter pour ceux recherchant la tranquillité.
Nous suggérons fortement de rendre disponible un 2e ensemble de clés pour permettre les allés et venus des différents membres du groupe.

Very little privacy in the small bedroom because of the sliding door arrangement. Ensuite toilet didn't always flush.
Unexpected stairs leading up to living quarters, difficult for elderly people.

Both bedrooms/beds were good and comfortable, and there were extra pillows for those who needed them. Showers are a little bit on the small side, but both had great water pressure.
Really convenient location for everything in Albufeira's old town. We were there in mid-October as the season was coming to an end, and the area was still pretty busy. It can get very noisy at night with some of the bands playing in local bars, so probably isn't ideal for very light sleepers or families with young children.

Close to the beach, walkable distance to most local attractions. There are a few flights of steps (rental description mentions that) and basically two separate mini lofts with a kitchen/dining area, bedroom and bathroom on the second floor, and a bedroom, bathroom and terrace on the third. Vendors on the first floor. Place is *not* suitable for families with young children, even though the listing states it is, unless children are on the older side (no barriers/safety guards between the rooms and stairways, even an adult can easily fall down if not careful). AC in both bedrooms (lower floor AC was a little noisy). Beds and bedding were nice and clean, and so were the towels. Wiring for lights is not done properly, lower bedroom and bathroom lights were never out completely. Bathroom on the second floor was on a small side (not a big problem for us), but quite smelly due to the poor plumbing solutions. Terrace, while not large, could have been a nice spot to hang out, but the dead plants did not add any appeal, and here were cleaning tools scattered around. For a $150 cleaning fee it could have been a bit better organized.

We found it difficult to find so better instructions would have helped. However the local rep. did answer my call immediately when I phoned, I just would rather not have had to. Another set of keys would have been good to have.
