The space
Imagine waking up and taking in the first sun of the day while overlooking the Amoreira River and the hills of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park.
This three-bedroom, two-bathroom (one en-suite, and one separate toilet) spacious villa, located in the quiet, residential neighbourhood of Espartal that is within walking distance of both Monte Clerigo and Amoreira beaches.
When entering the house you will find a cosy and bright living area with a fireplace. Attached an open kitchen and dining table capturing the view through the big windows. Going downstairs you will find 3 spacious bedrooms all with access to the garden/patio. It includes 2 bedrooms with 3 single beds and 1 master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. There is another bathroom with a toilet and shower in the hallway.
The villa offers the perfect family destination to wind down in the surrounding area of Aljezur and its renowned world-class surf scene and stunning cliff-top coastal hikes (Rota Vicentina).

The neighborhood
Our apartment is located on the outskirts of Espartal, Aljezur, offering you a quiet, private space in the middle of the Costa Vicentina nature reserve. This area is very popular amongst families, nature lovers and surfers alike. A selection of restaurants & bars and a small supermarket are there for your day-to-day comforts.
Monte Clerigo Beach 1.8 km walking
Amoreira access is possible at low tide; you can cross the river back to Espartal (although you will get a little wet).
Aljezur is located on the west coast of the Algarve in the heart of the natural park Costa Vicentina. An impressive beauty retains unforgettable landscapes between the mountain range and the sea. The coastline is formed uniquely by nature.
The sound of the waves creates a natural symphony, which serves as background music for long hikes or just a short walk on the seashore. Large sandy beaches and coves, divided by magnificent, rugged cliffs, with the consistent waves of the Atlantic Ocean, offer unique surfing conditions throughout the year.
Aljezur is enchanted with its charm and harmony of culture and nature. The region has countless culinary delights of high quality to offer. The sea provides fish and seafood, and the ground carries sweet potatoes and peanuts as delicacies count Medronho, a traditional fruit brandy, honey and other sweets. These are treats for culinary art and one of the many reasons to visit the region of Aljezur.
Getting around
We are only a 30 minute drive from Lagos and Sagres, one hour and 15 minutes from Faro airport and 2 hours 45 minutes from Lisbon. If you want to explore the area, a car is recommended. Parking is free and abundant everywhere in this area.

In der Villa haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Eine super Ausstattung, 3 Bäder, 3 Schlafräume und ein schöner großer Wohn- und Essbereich machten es für uns zu einem sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt.
Aus dem Garten und von den unterschiedlichen Terassen hat man einen super schönen Ausblick in die Natur und kann sogar das Meer sehen.
Außerdem war es immer problemlos möglich direkt vor dem Haus zu parken.
Kontakt und Kommunikation waren zu jeder Zeit super!
Wir geben 4 von 5 Sternen weil es ein paar wenige Kleinigkeiten zu bemängeln gab, die aber den Aufenthalt keineswegs negativ beeinträchtigt haben.

As outlined in the Rental Guide sent to you 7 days before arrival, guests are instructed to contact the local host to arrange check-in. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and you entered the house before the check-in time, meaning our local host did not have the opportunity to verify everything beforehand.
We work with a professional cleaning service and always strive for the highest standards. If we had been made aware of any cleaning concerns, we would have gladly sent the team back to address them.
We appreciate your stay and would have preferred the chance to resolve these matters for you during your time with us.

Wir haben uns sehr zu Hause gefühlt und hatten alles was wir benötigten.
Die Terrasse/der Garten könnten ein paar mehr Outdoormöbel vertragen, dass man sich dort mehr aufhalten kann.

However on the 5th day of our stay, we got a realy nasty surprise. After it had rained a bit during the night, the sewage started pressing up through the showers and toilets on the ground floor. This meant that a horrendous odor was spreading throughout the house. This was the state of things for the remainder of our stay.
After some research on the sewage treatment in the Algarve, I came to the conclusion, that the house is not connected to proper sewage treatment but rather to a cesspit that apparently was not built in correctly.
There was no proper reaction to us informing our local contact about the situation. Probably this is a known issue with the building that is simply accepted by the owners. No compensation for this situation was offered to us.
So I can really not recommend renting this property. This situation does not only cause a terrible odor but is also an absolute hazard to the health of you, your family, and friends.
Also the automatic refund of the deposit was not triggered within the official time period for it (without any communication about the delay). I spent about an hour of my time until I was connected with the people who held my deposit. This process should be handled automatically.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that this happened during your stay and are already in contact with you about an appropriate compensation for the issues experienced during your stay. Unfortunately, we were not informed by our local host to discuss this with your earlier as we agree that some compensation is due when something like this happens.
I do want to make clear for future guests that the assumption that it is an incorrectly installed cesspit is not correct. It was a happenstance blockeage (this happens sometimes when over time too much paper is flushed) and has been resolved as soon as to correct persons were informed about it.

The Villa is well equipped and super clean and comfy . Some areas could maybe do with a little TLC but it didn’t matter to us . Beautiful place

Zona tranquila a 10 minutos del pueblo Aljezur y 30 minutos aproximadamente de Carrapateira. Muy buenas vistas y agradable para disfrutar de unos días en portugal con familia o amigos. La casa esta equipada para hacer barbacoas

Nota-se que a casa tem muito uso e já merecia algumas obras de manutenção, nomeadamente na pintura das paredes, no arranjo dos rodapés e no funcionamento de alguns eletrodomésticos. A limpeza devia ser mais cuidada em termos de roupa de cama e nas casas de banho. O jardim também merecia uma manutenção.

ZAHLREICHE Negativpunkte. Das Haus ist in diesem Zustand für die Vermietung nicht geeignet. Schimmelbildung in allen Räumen. Sanierung dringend erforderlich .
Balkongeländer durchgerostet, Innentreppe Haltegeländer
fehlt teilweise. Gasherd und Abzugshaube, Backofen nicht funktionsfähig Warmwasser nur für 1 Person zur Verfügung. Fenster nicht zu verschließen . Gäste-WC Tür klemmt, Tapete löst,sich von der Wand. Fensterscheiben stark verschmutzt. Kühlschrank leckt, Überschwemmung jeden 2,Tag in der Küche. Usw, usw. Bei Ankunft am 08.03.23 um 21.30 Uhr; feuchter Fußboden, klammfeuchte Bettwäsche, Heizung defekt, kein Warmwasser. Bad: Heizstrahler defekt.
Durchgesehene Sessel. TV ohne Funktion. 4 Außentüren
Mit Schließzylinder nicht schließbar, erst nach eigener Instandsetzung schließbar.
