The neighborhood
Portimão is a large and bustling Algarvian coastal city that has everything a traveller could ask for. Explore the small shops in the historic heart, enjoy the many cafés and restaurants in the harbour area or spoil yourself with some new clothes from the commercial shopping center. Take a boat trip to explore the spectacular coastline, watch dolphins, go for a surf lesson or explore the inland of the Algarve by 4x4, bike or quad. If you can think of it, you can likely find it in the area!
Even though Portimão is one of the bigger Algarvian towns, you will still be able to explore most of it on foot and taxi's/übers are available, as well as a tourist train where you can hop on and off at the most popular spots in town. If you want to explore the wider region, a hire car is recommended. Note that parking in around the building is mostly free, but you might have to drive around the (one-way) streets for a bit to find a spot.
Getting around
There is public transport available in the area and all around the Algarve. But buses and trains do not go very often and a (rental) car is recommended.
Other things to note
➤ Check-in time: 4 - 9 pm. Late arrivals must be agreed upon before booking! Extra payment at arrival might be required. 9-11pm 30 euros and 11-12pm 50 euros. Check-in after midnight is not possible.
➤ Check-out time: before 10 am

L’alloggio rispecchia la descrizione: luminoso e con una bella vista sul porto, la cucina è ben fornita e il parcheggio nei dintorni è semplice da trovare. Tuttavia, ci sono stati diversi aspetti negativi: al nostro arrivo il secondo letto richiesto non era pronto, le lenzuola erano macchiate e il divano letto rotto, quindi molto scomodo. La casa non dispone di aria condizionata e, tenendo le finestre aperte di notte, il rumore esterno è piuttosto forte. La pulizia non era accurata e dal bagno proveniva un cattivo odore.

Estava bem limpo e fomos bem recebidos. Para nos refrescar tinha 2 ventoinhas que nos deu bastante jeito e uma óptima televisão 👌 Óptima vista para a ria 👌 O cheiro da casa de banho, era desagradável. Percebe-se que tem a ver com os esgotos e não propriamente com o apartamento. Uma máquina de lavar loiça e uma fritadeira elétrica teria dado jeito😅 A praia bem que poderia ser bem mais perto, mas como tem táxis a funcionar , acabamos por nos deslocar sempre de táxi .

Majoituspaikka oli 20min kävelymatkan päästä rannasta ja 10min päässä historiallisesta keskustasta. Kauppa oli lähellä ja alakerrassa oli edullisia aamiaiskahviloita. Lisäksi vastaspäisestä satamasta pääsi venereissulle, jolla pääsi näkemään algarven rannikkoa. Majoituspaikassa oli tosi lämmin. Ostimme yhden tuulettimen lisää, jonka jätimme seuraavia varten. Kylpyhuoneessa oli lämmin ja viemärin haju oli ajoittain epämiellyttävän voimakas. Laskimme usein vettä viemäreistä ja pidimme kylpyhuoneen ovea kiinni.

Die Unterkunft ist schön gestaltet und die Küche gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist gut.
Das Bad stinkt. Die Kommunikation mit der Servicefirma Renal Valley war allerdings sehr zäh. Bei uns hat das Bettzeug inkl. Bettdecke für die dritte Person gefehlt. Die Lösungsfindung mit Rental Valley war sehr zäh. Erst nach mehreren Telefonaten und Schreiben (was sich über einen gesamten Tag hingezogen hat) wurde vorgeschlagen, dass wir selbst eine Decke kaufen, da es wohl nicht möglich war eine für uns zu organisieren. Die Kosten wurden erstattet und wir haben eine Entschädigung dafür bekommen.

Nothing, we didn't end up sleeping here because of the bad small. For everyone reading this, i heavily recommend to not stay at this place.
When arriving there was a unbearable smell in the room (if you can sleep with that, you deserve an award, or you caught a cold). The host told us to open the windows so the air could regulate, which is already strange.
So we did open the windows at about 15:00 PM and came back after a long day at about 23:00 PM, and the horrible smell was still there.
Afterwards it was said we couldn't get a refund, because we should have known to flush the toilet ourselves to solve the bad smell problem, yeah sure...
Furthermore the walls have really dirty stains, which is not so comfortable to see when you have to sleep somewhere.
Also in the apartment where you arrive there is not a single light, so it's very dark, you can barely see anything which is just scary, and the whole apartment building feels uncomfortable.
I saw another review with quite similar complains, i can tell you, that this guy was exactly right.
You have been warned.

Alojamiento quizá un poco justo para 4 adultos, pero tiene todo lo necesario para estar unos días. Lo único que para mi gusto falta es un aire acondicionado, ya que no pasa corriente de aire y se nota. Por lo demás, no hay ninguna queja, todo muy limpio y ordenado y la comunicación con ellos fue perfecta. Si queréis visitar el Algarve y buscáis un apartamento bonito y barato, sin duda esta es una buena opción.

Great location between city centre and Praia da Rocha (20 minutes walk either side). Modern and clean with plenty of natural light coming in. View of the commercial port and Arade River was a plus and complimentary bottle of wine. Whilst we loved the place, there were a few issues we wanted to note. Photos made the place look bigger than it actually is - probably best for 3 people max. The check-in process wasn’t as swift as we would’ve hoped (waited 15 minutes outside despite giving an hours notice and being told someone would be there waiting). Unbearable sewage smell (mentioned in other reviews) coming from the bathroom which would spread around the flat if you left the door open. Should be sorted to prevent others enduring the same. Electrics tripped (also mentioned in other reviews) one night when we had the kettle and oven on at the same time but we managed to locate the fuse box and sort this out. One suggestion we would like to make would be having a full-length mirror.

En primer lugar, se nos fue la luz por la noche el primer día, intentamos subir los plomos sin resultados. La comunicación con el servicio fue nefasta, tuvimos que estar hasta la mañana siguiente sin luz. El olor era insoportable a alcantarilla. Habitación muy pequeña. No papel de cocina Destacando cosas buenas, aunque hay escasas. Buena limpieza, toallas de calidad, bien equipado de utensilios de cocina. Ademas, como gesto de bienvenida nos dejaron una botella de vino.

The girls and I loved this apartment. Convenient location, Bolt’s to the beach are about €2.50 and there’s a lovely restaurant right outside. Be mindful about plugging in too many things at once (two hairdryers is a definite no) as the electrics have a tendency to trip, an easy fix though.

A minha experiência neste alojamento foi mista. A localização e o espaço do apartamento merecem 5 estrelas, mas infelizmente não pude atribuir a classificação máxima. O check-in foi conduzido por uma senhora super atenciosa, porém a barreira do idioma dificultou a obtenção de informações adicionais. A equipa de comunicação clara, apesar de ser em inglês, deveria considerar disponibilizar opções em Português para atendimento nacional, visto que nem todos os clientes dominam o idioma. No apartamento, falta uma torradeira e cobertores adicionais para dias mais frescos, e o apartamento apresentava um odor a esgoto e/ou mofo mais intenso logo na entrada. Recomendaria atenção a estes pontos para futuros hóspedes.

Lokalizacja ok choć sam blok i jego otoczenie słabe. Winda nie działała. Umeblowanie pokoju ok choć brakowało parasola na plażę. Gospodarz obiektu kazał na siebie czekać blisko pół godziny nie informując o spóźnieniu. Czekalismy i dzwonilismy do siedziby firmy (Holandia) bezskutecznie. Niestety w mieszkaniu znaleźliśmy prusaki (karaluchy) co zniechęciło nas do kolejnego pobytu w tym mieszkaniu. Klamka od łazienki urwana.

Vistas estupendas . Mobiliario nuevo muy completo . Edificio siniestro,sucio y viejo con mal olor a cañería y humedad tanto en portal como zonas comunes . Mal ambiente por la zona . Ducha no tragaba bien el agua . No había tostador . Tendedero exterior de ropa tenía cuerdas en mal estado y manchó ropa que tendimos .

The apartment is in a great location for the price that we paid. The listed amenities are generally good, the TV is great, internet is very fast and kitchen appliances work well.
The shower is poorly designed, water ends up on the floor as you use it.
One thing to absolutely highlight is that the is no AC. While we were there, temperatures reached over 30 degrees. This made the apartment unbearable. Sleeping was incredibly difficult, impossible some nights. Our requests for portable fans were denied by the host. I wish good luck to the next guests for more favourable weather as we head into peak summer… The reality is it was so hot that I don’t think fans would’ve actually helped in the end anyway.
While a washing machine is provided, there is nowhere to actually hang your clothes to dry them. There is a rusted and precarious clothing line outside the window, attached to the apartment exterior.

Très bel appartement avec une belle vue sur la marina. Tout est très propre, on ne manque de rien, le séjour était confortable. Bon emplacement, place à 20min à pied.En revanche nous avons été très déçu de notre arrivée car l’agence n’a pas donné à temps l’heure de rendez-vous à la personne qui devait nous accueillir. Résultat, nous avons attendu plus d’1h sur le trottoir que la personne arrive et avons dû téléphoner plusieurs fois pour obtenir des informations. Cela nous a fait perdre une après-midi de notre séjour et l’attente était désagréable. On nous a proposé un late check-out que nous n’avons malheureusement pas pu accepter car nous avions un avion très tôt mais aucune autre compensation n’a été proposée alors qu’on m’a dit qu’un manager nous recontacterai. C’est dommage et malhonnête de leur part. Pas de climatisation/ventilateur donc il faut dormir la fenêtre ouverte et il y a de la musique jusqu’à 1h du matin au restaurant en bas de l’immeuble et beaucoup de bruit de traffic.
