  1. Road works + Unsympathetic owner = poor stay

    Positive: No comment Negative: Roadworks on road outside this ground floor flat. On sixth day of our stay they were directly outside. Noise and dust intolerable. We left the property and asked agent for refund for unoccupied days. Owner refused to refund those days. We sent many photos to agent and heard nothing further. The property should not have been let given the proximity of the road works.

  7. Disgraceful organisation and support.

    Positive: The property was clean and newly renovated. The location was good for us as it was an easy stroll to the center with its restaurants and action. The bed was nice and big. Negative: Check-in was a nightmare. The address given (21 Travessa dos Fumeiros de Diante) does not exist. We called the host, which is a property management company apparently in a different country and asked for the correct address. They refused to give it to us and kept repeating they had sent an email earlier with a link to the details and I should go online and get the information from this. We were not online so couldn't. We were tired after our journey and stumbling around at night in the dark backstreets of Tavira with our luggage without meaningful assistance. Eventually we happened by chance upon the correct address in a nearby street with a similar name. The address shown here as of writing is still incorrect. The property itself was as described. There is no outside space or view.

    Positive: It is a beautiful modern apartment in the middle of the old part of Tavira. You will have everything that you need for a shorter or longer stay. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom is spacious and has a wardrobe, a home office desk, and a comfortable bed. Shower works very well. It was easy to access the apartment with the key in the box, and communication was excellent. We loved the place 😊 Negative: To mention something, it would be nice to have a place where to hang and dry the big towels. Also, we could not close the bedroom window properly, but luckily the street was very quiet during the night. We could hear the neighbours upstairs very well, but as well they were quiet during late evening :)

    The apartment is situated in a very nice neighbourhood with everything you may need in a walking distance. It looks very nice and is well equipped with some minor defaults such as no batteries for the 2 night lamps. Unfortunately there is no Window in bath- and livingroom. In the sleepingroom it could not be opened as there was a loud and dusty construction side outside. The only way to get some air in the apartment was air conditioning which made us both sick during our stay.

    Positive: La ubicación es espectacular, en el centro de Tavira. Aunque el piso este muy céntrico, a unos metros de muchos buenos restaurantes, esta en una calle muy tranquila. La decoración es encantadora. Se nota que esta todo nuevo y hecho con gusto. La cocina está todo equipada, bastante grande para vacaciones. El baño es muy lindo y cómodo y la habitación es super amplia, tiene un escritorio para trabajar. Nos encantó nuestra estancia, volveremos! Negative: Nada

    The place was very nice and cozy. For me it is a bit dark (there is no window that you can open in bedroom) but everything else was perfect. Location is great, there are a lot of small shops there, a lot of cafes, city center is in 5 min, nice French bakery in 10 min. The design of the apartment was also nice! Thank you so much!

    La vivienda es amplia y está muy bien equipada, además de ser cómoda. La zona es tranquila y muy cerca de toda el centro turístico a visitar y zona de bares y restaurantes. Lo malo de la vivienda es el mal olor que salía del baño … olía a bajante todo el tiempo. Además, la puerta de la entrada tiene un hueco por debajo y entraban hormigas a la vivienda, lo cual era desagradable. Por último, las paredes son muy finas y escuchas lo que hacen los vecinos… a veces hasta altas horas de la noche.

    The little apartment was nice, but : 1. We were missing a set of sheets and towels for one of us. No action through messaging, only when I called the next day did they bring sheets and towels. 2. We did not have internet for two days due to modem breakdown. It was replaced and we got back on after two days of using our data. 3. The shower drain was blocked causing a flood in the bathroom, which took some time to mop up. They came and unblocked it the next day. 4. Hot water was sketchy, until I called. They fixed it at the same time as unclogging the drain. I did get a compensation of $144 at the end for all the troubles, which was nice, but didn't really make up for the inconvenience during the holiday.
