Casa Coruja - The Owl's House - is an amazing and cozy 2 bed family home located just outside of Luz town, but within walking distance to the shops (10 min) and beach (15 min). This makes it the perfect destination for a family or two responsible couples who want to enjoy their holiday close to the beach and the lively seaside town but in calm surroundings.
The space
From the moment your reach Casa Coruja, you will notice the many years of love that the owners have put into this little villa. The garden is well kept and mature, with beautiful fruit trees and a variety of plants and hedges. The private pool and adjoining terrace offer a great view of the sea already, but step onto the roof terrace and be amazed by the panoramic view it offers.
The house itself is homely, cozy and comfortable with 2 bedrooms (sleeping a total of up to 5 persons) and 2 separate bathrooms. The living room with dining table and adjoining kitchen are a mix of traditional build and comfortable modern furnishings. The house is ideal for a family with one double bedroom and one bedroom with a double and a single bed. All beds are comfortable, modern boxspring beds. The kitchen is fully equipped so you when you're done exploring the many restaurants in Luz, you can cook up a feast and enjoy a breezy summer night on the terrace at home. And if you're lucky enough to arrive at the right time, you can enjoy the fresh fruits from the garden's trees!
The house is located just outside of Luz's town center in a residential villa area with various houses surrounding Casa Coruja - so it does not feel secluded. There are a few restaurants just around the corner, and the town center is only 10 minutes walking from the house. The beach can be reached in 15 minutes. The house is located perfectly for those who want to be close to the liveliness that any seaside resort has to offer but far enough out to enjoy the calm and quiet.

The neighborhood
Luz is a quaint little holiday getaway along the Algarvian coastline with a large variety shops, bars and restaurants and a beautiful beach. Set amidst spectacular coastal scenery, you can take your time to explore the stunning cliffs, undiscovered beaches, neighbouring quaint villages and the national park. But then, it’s just a 15-minute drive to Lagos's regional capital if you want a bit more action.
Casa Corjua is located just outside the town center but still at walking distance to the town center and beautiful, child-friendly beach. This beach is great for surfing when the waves hit it from the right direction and other watersports activities like diving, snorkelling and sailing are available directly in Luz or nearby. There are many hiking trails surrounding Luz as well.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical centre full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs, and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical centre, great food and friendly people. It is located on the coast. You can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
Getting around
You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport, and car rental is available in the airport's parking lot. By train, it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours.
Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast), but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car, and there are plenty of taxis and Uber's available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a lot easier.
You can park for free in Luz. Around this villa, there is street parking available, as well as 1 dedicated parking spot on the property.

Not much, there is no air-conditioning but that wasn't a problem as the casa is built in an older style that didn't seem to overly heat up, in fact it was just a fine temperature throughout the whole day and evening.

gemütliche Unterkunft, mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet, hat uns sehr verzaubert. Gerne kommen wir wieder!
Die örtlichen Gartenpflege könnte etwas leiser von statten gehen.
Aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau!
Die Mirarbeiter waren sehr diskret und höflich.

The kitchen and bathrooms are +20 years old. No dishwasher. House was really clean on arrival but the terrasse was filled with baby chair, grill, umbrellas etc etc. We had to remove and store. 3 out of 4 umbrellas did not work and we asked for new ones.
Nice house - however some finishing touches needed to match the price

As a holiday rental property, we aim to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience, but holiday properties offerings differ from those of a hotel. We provide a minimum amount of detergents, shampoos, and toilet paper to start your stay, but guests are expected to purchase additional supplies as needed after the initial provisions run out.
Regarding the air conditioning, we do not advertise the apartment as having A/C, and we apologize if this was not clear. We will forward your feedback to the property owners for their consideration of adding this amenity in the future. Your feedback about the curtains and the overall cleanliness of the property will be addressed with our team to ensure improvements are made.
We are a little sad you have never brough any cleaning issue to our attention during your stay, as we would have loved to have the opportunity to resolve it.
We also provided a Google Maps link to show where to dispose of trash, which is part of our house rules and check-out procedures, each guests agree to while booking.

W jednej sypialni za oknem zepsuty czujnik światła wydawał dźwięk przez który nie można było zasnąć więc córka spała na sofie w salonie.Zgłosiłam właścicielom ten fakt i napewno się tym zajmą.Uważam,że mimo tej drobnej niedogodności warto wynająć ten dom i ja chętnie tam wrócę.

Tout était propre et fonctionnelle.
Deux points négatifs pas de volets dans les chambres juste un rideau dans la petite chambre .
Très désagréable car nous étions réveillés très très tôt !
Et deuxième point négatif je ne savais pas que le linge bébé pour le lot n était pas fournis ….
J ai peut-être mal lu le récapitulatif…
Sinon nous recommandons ce logement, dommage que nous n avons pas rencontré les propriétaires ( boite à clés)
