The space

Alba Villa stands on the hillside above Praia da Arrifana, ten minutes on foot from the sand and a short walk from the village’s restaurants. Fully refurbished, quietly luxurious and built for families who want space without giving up comfort.

Four bedrooms on the ground floor, each with its own ensuite bathroom — two kings and a queen — open onto the living space. Above them, reached by its own exterior stair, a self-contained studio with a single bed and a fourth ensuite bathroom. It is the detail that makes this house work for a real family: a private room for a grandparent, an au pair, an older teenager or a friend joining the trip, with nobody sharing a bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and open to a bright living room; a long dining table seats the whole group indoors when the wind gets up.

Outside
The garden was rebuilt in 2026 and it is now the heart of the house. A sunken stone terrace, ringed by a dry-stone wall and shaded by sails, holds a dining table for eight and a separate lounge seating group. An outdoor counter with running water — hot as well as cold — makes it a place you can genuinely cook and clear up, not just carry plates to, and there is a barbecue for grilling whatever came out of the fish market that morning. When the sun goes down the festoon lights come on and the terrace becomes the best room in the villa. A cobbled path climbs to the upper deck, where the wood-fired hot tub sits with sun loungers beside it, looking out over the pines toward the ocean. Wood is provided. After a day of surf at Arrifana, it is exactly where you want to end up. There is also a north-west facing terrace off the house for morning coffee, and a south- east facing garden that catches the sun all afternoon.

The setting
A ten-minute walk brings you to Praia da Arrifana — along a private path to the cliff edge, or gently down the road. Five good restaurants are within walking distance. Beyond Arrifana lie Monte Clérigo and Amoreira, the Fishermen’s Trail along the cliffs, and some of the most consistent surf in Europe. Aljezur is fifteen minutes by car, Lagos under an hour, Faro airport around two hours.

Getting around

Transit in and to Vale da Telha is convenient and accessible, with well-connected roadways and public transportation options. Situated in the Algarve region, Vale da Telha is easily reachable by car via major roads like the N120 and N268. For those without a car, local buses provide connections to nearby towns like Aljezur and Lagos. Travelers arriving by air can reach Vale da Telha from Faro Airport, with options including car rental, taxis, or shuttle services. Once in Vale da Telha, getting around is easy thanks to its compact size and well-laid-out road network, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable travel experience for all.
