The space
Nestled in a high class urbanisation near Portimão, Villa Cielo Azul has been the private residence of a family of 4 for many years before they decided to share their dream home with the rest of the world. Built in a charming Art Deco style, the villa was designed with a strong ecological focus: 10 solar panels on the roof and excellent natural temperature regulation mean you'll rarely need heating or air conditioning — even in the height of summer. The result is a home that feels as thoughtful as it is beautiful.
The beautifully manicured, spacious garden with not one, but two pools and outdoor shower faces south-east to south-west, allowing you to soak up as much of the Algarvian sun as possible before retreating onto the shaded terrace with large dining table, outdoor (gas)BBQ kitchen and several lounge areas. With the ocean just a 15-minute drive away and four restaurants within walking distance, you're perfectly positioned between nature and convenience.
The house features beautifully designed bedrooms that are all directly connected to the garden. The master suite has a spacious en-suite bathroom with bath/shower combination and toilet while the other rooms share a full bathroom with bath/shower combination and toilet as well as a second separate toilet room for full comfort. The fifth sleeping space is an internally connected annex king-room located on the west-facing side of the house and includes a spacious luxury walk-in shower and Japanese toilet. It can be accessed separately from the rest of the house with direct access to the main kitchen as well.
While the whole house is generally suitable for the less-mobile, the annex room comes with a ramp specifically for wheelchair access.
The owner's love for hosting truly shines through in their carefully decorated living room. Large sofas and comfy chairs mixed with curated side tables and other furnishings create various lounge areas within the space, and with fully extended glass sliding doors all around, the living space can be opened onto the garden and pool area completely. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare festive meals, while a large indoor dining table allows you to choose whether you enjoy that meal inside or outside. A large fireplace can make a winter night in front of the huge TV even cosier.
The romantic atmosphere makes this villa particularly special — an ideal retreat for couples or anyone seeking a peaceful, restorative stay. Beyond the property itself, the urbanisation offers a kids' playground and a pétanque field, and the surrounding area is laced with hiking trails for those who love to explore on foot.
There are directly connected residences, but none of them can see into the house or garden — creating a full sense of privacy without being completely rural.

The neighborhood
The property is located within the Monte Canelas villa urbanization in Mexilhoeira Grande, just outside Portimão. While nearby villages are equipped with local restaurants/bars, both Portimão and Lagos as well as a large variety of stunning beaches can be quickly reached by car and boast many shops, restaurants, bars and (tourist) attractions. The Monchique mountain range with incredible views, lovely towns and various spa-resorts is only a 20 min drive from your villa and the Penina Golf resort is just around the corner. The cherry on top for many who visit this area is the close presence of the Portimão racetrack which hosts many world-class events including Formula 1 races in 2027 and 2028.
Getting around
While public transport and taxi services are present in the area, a (hire) car is highly recommended, especially if you enjoy exploring your surroundings. The villa is a 45 min drive from Faro airport and about 3 hours from Lisbon airport and does not require you to go off-road.
Other things to note
➤ The swimming pool can be heated to around 30 Celcius (exact temperature can fluctuate slightly depending on weather conditions) at a surcharge of 50 euros per night. To ensure a properly heated pool at arrival, confirmation and payment for this extra service must be made 7 days before arrival.
➤ There is a security camera located on the exterior of the property, which is not in use during bookings.
➤ One of the large living room windows has some interior damage that makes it appear partially foggy. This cannot be resolved and is merely esthetic damage. Being a private residence, the house shows small signs of use. But if anything, it contributes to it's homeliness and will not negatively influence your comfort at all.
➤ The bathroom section of the annex master suite is separated from the sleeping space by a curtain.
➤ Check-in time: 4 - 9pm (arrivals after 9pm possible but please confirm before booking. Possible surchage for late arrivals: 9pm-11pm 30 euros. 11pm-midnight 50 euros. Check-in after midnight is not guaranteed.
➤ Check-out time: before 10am
ℹ SEF REQUIREMENTS. All property owners in Portugal have a legal requirement to report tourists’ and guests information to Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (known for short as, SEF). To comply with legal requirements, from a week before arrival we shall send to you a link to our SEF form for you to complete and send back to us prior to your arrival. It is mandatory requirement.

Cancelation policy
Guest can cancel free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. After this date, 100% of the total booking amount is due. Cleaning fees will be refunded to the guest in case of cancellation within 14 days of arrival. We strongly advise taking cancellation insurance for your trip to avoid possible financial loss.
