Casa do Jardim is a renovated townhouse in the heart of Lagos, close to the old city walls, with a front garden and a south-facing back garden, and everything you need for a proper stay in one of the Algarve's most walkable towns.

The space

Casa do Jardim is an 85m² townhouse on two floors, in the centre of Lagos, sleeping up to 4 adults, with the option of 2 children on the sofa bed in the living room. The old town is less than a 2-minute walk away, with the city wall and entrance right on your doorstep.

You enter through the front garden. Downstairs, the living room is to your left, open plan with the kitchen behind it, and air conditioning to keep things cool. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and filtered water from the tap. Behind the kitchen, a sunroom with a small sitting corner leads out to the south-facing back garden. On the right of the entrance, a bathroom with shower and WC.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed (180cm) and one with a double bed (140cm), both with blackout curtains and shutters. A ventilator is available for warm nights. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub and WC.

The house sits at the bottom of a dead-end street, with no through traffic and a genuine sense of calm that is hard to find this close to the centre of Lagos.

The neighborhood

Lagos is one of the Algarve's most complete towns: a working marina, a medieval old town with walls and cobbled streets, restaurants from simple tasca to well-known chefs, and direct access to some of the region's most dramatic coastline. Casa do Jardim sits in the historic centre, within easy walking distance of the market, the main square, and the marina.

The beaches closest to the centre, Praia da Batata and Praia dos Estudantes, are reachable on foot. Further along the coast, Praia Dona Ana and Praia do Camilo offer the sheltered coves and amber rock formations that Lagos is known for, a short drive from the house. Sagres and the Ponta de Sagres, the southwesternmost point of mainland Europe, is an easy drive west.

Day trips to Silves, with its Moorish castle, or to the Costa Vicentina for quieter beaches and open Atlantic, are both doable within a day.

Getting around

A car is useful for reaching the more remote beaches and for day trips along the Algarve, but not essential for the town itself. Lagos has a train and bus station, with connections to Faro and Lisbon. Faro Airport is around 1 hour by car. The town centre, market, and marina are all reachable on foot from the property. Street parking is available directly outside the house.

➤ Dogs are welcome. The property is fully fenced and dog blankets are provided and must be washed, dried, and returned to storage before departure.
➤ Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas.
