The space

Solmonte is an apartment on the 8th floor of a residential building in the Tres Castelos area of Portimão, with 45m² of living space, two balconies, and access to a shared pool. The apartment sleeps up to 4 guests, split between the bedroom and the living room.

Just inside the front door, a bathroom with shower and toilet sits on the left. Beyond it, the open living room and kitchen lead out to a balcony facing north. The living room has a sofa bed, though this room has no air conditioning.

To the left of the kitchen, the bedroom holds two single beds pushed together, a sofa bed, and its own air conditioning. From here, a second balcony faces west.

With a balcony on each side of the apartment, morning coffee and evening drinks each get their own view.

The neighborhood

Solmonte sits in the Tres Castelos neighbourhood of Portimão, a quiet residential pocket close to Praia da Rocha, the Algarve's best-known beach. A pizzeria and a bar sit at street level in the building itself, with more restaurants a short walk into central Portimão.

Praia dos Três Castelos, known for its rock formations and a calmer pace than its busier neighbour, is around 650 metres away, roughly an 8 to 10 minute walk. Praia da Rocha itself, with its long stretch of sand and beachfront boardwalk, is around a kilometre further along the coast, roughly 12 to 15 minutes on foot.

Portimão's marina and town centre, with shops, cafes, and a weekly market, are a short drive away.

Getting around

A car is recommended for exploring the wider Algarve, though the beach and nearby restaurants are within walking distance. Faro Airport is around 65km away, roughly 50 minutes by car via the A22. Public transport into central Portimão runs via local bus lines. Free street parking is available near the building.
