Twin Waves – Pool & Beach

The space

Twin Waves is a bright 55 m² apartment on the third floor of Monte Residence, a gated residence in Praia da Rocha. It sleeps up to 4 guests: 2 adults and 2 children.

The front door opens onto an open-plan living and dining area with the kitchen along one side. The kitchen has a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and an espresso machine, so cooking a proper meal is easy. In the living room, the sofa bed sleeps two children.

The living area opens onto the west-facing balcony, which has an outdoor table and chairs. It gets the afternoon and evening sun, so it's the natural spot for dinner. The bedroom has a queen-size bed and smart TV, and there is one bathroom. A washing machine is also available.

After a day at the beach, the balcony is where the evening begins, with the last of the sun still on the table.

Guest access

The apartment is all yours during your stay, with privacy and space for a small family. It is on the third floor, reached by lift or stairs, and has its own front door off the shared hallway.

Parking is available within the gated grounds in front of the building, though spaces are limited. When those are taken, there is street parking in the surrounding area.

The neighborhood

Portimão is one of the larger towns on the Algarve coast, a working fishing port on the Arade river with a long seafront at Praia da Rocha. Guests come for the wide sandy beach and its cliffs, boat trips and dolphin watching from the marina, water sports, and an evening walk along the boulevard.

Twin Waves is around 5 to 10 minutes on foot from Praia da Rocha, with shops, cafés and restaurants within a short walk. At the eastern end of the beach, the Fortaleza de Santa Catarina looks out over the marina and the river mouth, a good place to watch the sun go down. For a day out with kids, Zoomarine in Guia is roughly a 15 to 20-minute drive, with dolphin presentations, pools and slides.

Getting around

A car is recommended for exploring the Algarve. Buses connect Portimão with other towns along the coast, and Portimão train station is a short drive from the apartment, but services are not frequent. Faro Airport is roughly a 50-minute drive.

Other things to note

➤ Check-in time: 16:00-21:00 with a personal host. Late arrivals must be agreed with us before booking. Check-in between 21:00 and 23:00 costs €30, and after 23:00 it costs €50, both payable in cash on arrival. Check-in after midnight is not possible.
➤ Check-out time: before 10:00

➤ Smoking is not permitted inside the apartment. Smoking is allowed on the balcony, with consideration for the neighbors.
➤ The pool and garden are maintained by a service company, who may pass by during your stay.

ℹ AIMA REQUIREMENTS. All property owners in Portugal are legally required to report guest information to the Agência para a Integração, Migrações e Asilo (AIMA). From a week before arrival, we will send you a link to our AIMA form to complete and send back to us before your arrival. This is a mandatory legal requirement.
