The space

Picture a slow morning with a coffee in hand, the beach a few minutes' walk away and the village only just waking up. Zandvoort Beach House is a 45 m² summer house in the back garden of a monumental house from 1910, on a quiet side street just off the village centre. You reach it through a gate between the back gardens, where your own front door is waiting.

The cottage is spread over two floors. On the ground floor, the bedroom has a king-size bed (180x200), bedside lamps and a spacious wardrobe. A steep staircase leads up to the living area, where white wooden panelling, exposed beams and rattan details give the space a relaxed beach-house feel. A comfortable sofa and a TV with cable channels make it easy to settle in after a day by the sea.

The kitchen is compact and practical for two, with a hob, microwave, mini fridge, toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin. Air conditioning keeps the cottage cool on warm days, and together with the central heating it keeps things comfortable in the cooler months. Wifi is included.

Zandvoort Beach House sleeps 2 adults, with a maximum of 2 guests in total. It suits couples looking for a quiet base close to both the beach and the train to Amsterdam.

When the day winds down, the cottage feels tucked away from the busy boulevard, even though the sea is only a short walk away.

Guest access

Zandvoort Beach House is all yours during your stay. The cottage is detached on all but one side and has its own front door, reached through a gate between the back gardens. The garden itself is not included. The steep staircase makes the cottage unsuitable for young children or guests with limited mobility.

The neighborhood

Zandvoort is known as Amsterdam's beach. It has a long sandy coastline, a boulevard lined with beach clubs and a village centre full of small shops, cafés and restaurants. Behind the town lie the dunes of National Park Zuid-Kennemerland and the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, with walking and cycling routes in every direction. Circuit Zandvoort brings motorsport events throughout the year.

Zandvoort Beach House sits on a quiet side street, a couple of minutes' walk from the village centre. Supermarkets, restaurants, bars and the beach are all within around 5 minutes on foot. The weekly Wednesday market is held just around the block. For a morning walk or bike ride, the Kennemerduinen dunes begin on the edge of town.

Getting around

Zandvoort aan Zee train station is less than 500 metres from the cottage. Trains reach Haarlem in around 15 minutes and Amsterdam in around 30 minutes, and Schiphol Airport is roughly a 30-minute drive. You don't need a car here, because the town, beach and dunes are all within walking or cycling distance. A bike rental shop is at the end of the street.

If you come by car, your parking space is in the LDC parking garage, a short walk from the cottage, and the parking pass is in the cottage. Bikes are welcome, and you can park them at the cottage.

➤ The staircase between the two floors is steep and has no handrail, so please take care, especially at night.
