The Lemon Lodge is een intiem eco-escape genesteld tussen de Monchique bergen en de rustieke kustlijn van de Algarve voor natuurliefhebbers
The space
De Lemon Lodge is een gerenoveerde boerderij die is opgesplitst in twee unieke verblijven. Omgeven door pijnbomen hebben de suites een spectaculair uitzicht op de vallei en de voedseltuinen.
De twee lodges zijn uitnodigend, comfortabel en toch rustiek, geïnspireerd door de natuur.
Ziggurat is een ruime suite voor twee personen met een privéterras dat perfect opgaat in de natuurlijke omgeving.
Het moderne interieur is vermengd met rustieke Portugese details. Het hoge plafond en de zachte romantische kleuren zorgen ervoor dat u zich meteen thuis voelt.
De suite heeft een grote slaapkamer met en-suite badkamer die uitkijkt op de tuin.
In de woonkamer is een open haard met zithoek en een open keuken die uitkijkt op de vallei.
Omdat we geloven dat de keuken het hart van het huis is, wordt de suite geleverd met gratis thee, lokaal gebrande koffie en essentiële keukenkruiden om van uw huisgemaakte maaltijden te genieten. De suite is ook voorzien van handgemaakte biologisch afbreekbare zeep en shampoo die lokaal in de vallei wordt gemaakt.

Houdt u er rekening mee dat aankomst na 21.00 uur niet mogelijk is en inchecken na 18.00 uur alleen in overleg met onze lokale gastheren.
Kanttekening: Televisies en airconditioning zijn niet beschikbaar, dat is onze manier om aan te moedigen om zich aan te passen aan de manier van de natuur. Echter, gratis WIFI is toegankelijk wanneer nodig.
Dingen te doen rond de Lodge
Dit deel van de Algarve heeft zich de laatste jaren ontpopt als een paradijs voor surfers en wandelaars, omdat de prachtige kustlijn surf van wereldklasse en spectaculaire uitzichten biedt. Omringd door het Cape St Vincent natuurpark en de prachtige bergen van Monchique is er veel te ontdekken met de auto, fiets, te paard of te voet.
De Lodge is ook gelegen naast de beroemde Pilgrim Rota Vincentina wandelroute met de mogelijkheid om een cirkelvormige route te lopen.

The neighborhood
The Lemon Lodge ligt dicht bij het dorp Aljezur dat op minder dan 10 minuten rijden of 45 minuten te voet ligt. De wandelingen in dit gebied zijn prachtig en gelukkig is de lodge gelegen naast de beroemde pelgrim wandeling "Rota Vincentina" met de mogelijkheid voor een cirkelvormige route.
Dit hele deel van de Algarve heeft zich de laatste jaren ontpopt als een paradijs voor surfers en wandelaars. Omringd door het Cape St Vincent Natural Park en de prachtige bergen van Monchique is er veel te ontdekken met de auto, fiets, te paard of te voet.

Wij raden u aan uw eigen auto te hebben om de prachtige omgeving te verkennen. Als u de ongebaande paden wilt ontdekken raden wij u aan een 4x4 te huren.
Eenmaal geboekt sturen wij een duidelijke routebeschrijving hoe u hier kunt komen.
Een pick-up kan geregeld worden in het dorp Aljezur wanneer de gasten na zonsondergang aankomen.
Other things to note
We vragen onze gasten om hun viervoeters thuis te laten aangezien we Bruce en Lana op het land hebben rondlopen. Voel je vrij om ze mee te nemen op een wandeling of laat ze zijn. Gelieve ons te verwittigen in geval van allergieën en wij zullen extra zorg dragen om hen op een afstand van de Lodge te houden.

The house itself is stunning and really well designed. Kitchen has everything you need. We cooked a lot on the grill in the back.
Would have liked screens on the windows to let some fresh air in, as bugs up there can be tricky.

From the moment we arrived, our hosts were beyond welcoming—super friendly, easygoing, and full of amazing recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. Their local tips truly made our stay even more special.
The accommodation itself is a dream! The house is an architectural masterpiece, with stunning interior design and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, making cooking a joy. Outside, the space is just as spectacular—plenty of room to relax, soak in the peaceful surroundings, and enjoy nature. As we were unfortunately unlucky with the weather, the oven was a scenic place to relax and warm-up. We would recommend to bring warm clothes and maybe even shoes if the weather report is not in your favor :)
Speaking of the surroundings, the calm and chill atmosphere made it the perfect retreat. We‘ll definitely be back:)

We also did the breathework session, and clairvoyance session with Helena and both really added to our experience. We have never been able to relax as much as both of these sessions allowed us to do. We couldn’t thank her more for these wonderful experiences.
Overall we couldn’t recommend this place more. Total tranquility, peace, and contemplation.

Cons worth noting:
-From the main road it is an additional 10min drive on dirt roads through mountains and our rental car was not really equipped for it. It kept us from exploring outside the airbnb bc the drive was hard
-There was a smell of feces that emanated from the bathroom that seemed worse on some days than others
-There are no fans/ac and only one window in the bedroom so it can get warm and buggy. Woke up with mosquito bites all over. I wish they had screens on the windows!
That being said, I would still visit again if I were looking for a quiet and private place to reside for a long period of time

Private, beautiful and geared towards rest and wellness this place is a perfect sanctuary.
Alex was on hand with recommendations for running routes, help with the sauna and ice bath and for friendly and welcoming conversation.
The property is chic and well thought out with a log fire, a very comfy bed and spotless linens.
A thoughtful gift of tea, wine and coffee was left for us on arrival.
If you want somewhere beautiful and calm to stay, much more special and unique than a hotel and somewhere to really feel at home then Lemon Lodge is for you!

It felt a little bit more like Glamping to us. We understood that the whole concept is around sustainability and that is great, but the price we paid (€200 a night) was just a bit much for what you get. The villa is not completely closed off so bugs can easily get in. We had an ant problem in the kitchen so you constantly have to wipe the counter and that is a bit off putting to use the kitchen in general. The toilet wasn’t flushing properly and either kept running or the water in the tank didn’t refill. The shower head holder was also broken. We stayed 6 nights and there wasn’t any cleaning or emptying of the bin’s, and we were out of toilet paper by then. I understand we can ask for these things but I would suggest to the owners to maybe incorporate this a little bit more. Again, beautiful beautiful property and very nice people running it. But the price was definitely too high for us for what you get in return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in a more remote, quiet area of the Algarve. But still only a 15 min drive to the nearest town, Aljezur. Thanks for a very memorable stay!

Bei leider nicht all zu gutem Wetter eher etwas kalt (wofür die Gastgeber natürlich nichts können). Aber wir mussten definitiv jeden Abend ein Feuer machen und es war trotz dicker Decken und extra Wolldecken eher kalt nachts.

Nothing really, the only thing that might be tricky for some travellers is the road to get up the hill towards the Lemon Lodge. Its doable, but you need to be aware of the bumpy dirt road going up hill as the last part
