The space

From the moment you step into the top-floor lounge at Villa Ocean Blue, the unmatched views immediately take centre stage. Overlooking Martinhal Beach, the Sagres cliffs, the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding Natural Park, the villa enjoys a truly spectacular outlook. Recently renovated throughout, it combines contemporary comfort with one of the most sought-after locations in Martinhal.

The generous living and dining spaces occupy the top floor, opening onto two terraces with dining and lounge facilities. The four bedrooms are located on the main floor and open onto the villa's outdoor areas, with direct access to the east-facing garden and pool terraces.. There is plenty of room to spread out: sun loungers by the pool, a patio dining area with gas and charcoal BBQs, and the terraces above for taking in the views. The terraces in particular are enormous, and together with the sea views and outdoor dining areas they are among the villa's defining features. Sagres is known for its strong north-westerly summer winds, but the villa's position provides natural shelter, so outdoor dining and pool time are rarely interrupted, even in July and August.

The villa is fully air-conditioned throughout, with reverse-cycle heating for cooler evenings and a fireplace in the living area.

The four bedrooms are all on the main level:

Bedroom 1: super king-size bed (180 x 200 cm)
Bedroom 2: super king-size bed (180 x 200 cm)
Bedroom 3: super king-size bed (180 x 200 cm)
Bedroom 4: twin room, two single beds (90 x 200 cm)

Bedrooms 1, 2 and 4 each have an en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 3 has its own private bathroom directly opposite the room.

On the lower-ground floor, a substantial entertainment space provides a dedicated games room connected directly to the main house. It is a great retreat for children and teenagers, with an arcade machine, a games area and comfortable seating. The room also provides additional sleeping for 4 guests, with a king-size bed and two single beds, and has its own en-suite bathroom. That makes it ideal for larger family groups, older children, teenagers or a third family sharing the villa.

With four bedrooms and a games room that sleeps 4, Villa Ocean Blue works especially well for two or three families sharing: everyone gets space, but the pool and terraces bring you back together.

Guest access

The entire villa is yours for the duration of your stay: all floors, garden, private pool (heating optional), terraces and off-road private parking. The villa is a standalone property with a private entrance and electronic gated parking.

➤ Please note that Villa Ocean Blue is privately owned and not part of the Martinhal Resort. The beach and two restaurants on the resort, Bahari and Martinhal Restaurant, are public and open to all guests.
➤ Villa Ocean Blue is well suited to families with children of all ages. Note that the 10 + 2 up to 12yo-rule is strict due to license restrcitions. Two high chairs and two travel cots are available on request. A removable child safety fence for the pool is available free of charge; please request this before arrival so it can be installed in time.

The neighborhood

Martinhal sits at the southwestern tip of Portugal, where the Atlantic meets the Sagres Natural Park, one of Europe's most protected stretches of coastline. The area draws surfers, hikers and nature lovers year-round, and Sagres town has grown into a lively, characterful place with a strong local restaurant scene, all within a short drive of some of the Algarve's most unspoiled beaches.

Villa Ocean Blue is a 5-minute walk from Martinhal beach. By the shore, Bahari and Martinhal Restaurant are both open to the public and ideal for a casual lunch or early evening meal. For a wider choice, Sagres town is about 5 minutes by car: Fermento is the standout for seasonal shared plates, Picnic for morning coffee and cakes, and Alice for some of the best ice cream in the Algarve. For a meal with spectacular harbour and ocean views, A Tasca is worth booking ahead.

Getting around

Faro Airport is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by car. Public transport in the Martinhal area is limited, though buses run between Sagres and Lagos, and connections to Lisbon are available from nearby Vila do Bispo. Taxi services and apps such as Uber are available in the area. A (hire) car is recommended. The villa has off-road electronic gated private parking.

Other things to note

➤ Check-in from 16:00 to 21:00 with a personal host. Early check-in is subject to same-day availability; contact us on arrival day to check, though this is limited in peak season. After 21:00 by prior arrangement only; late check-in fee of €30-€50 payable on arrival. Check-in after midnight is not possible.
➤ Check-out by 10:00. Late check-out is subject to next-day availability; contact us the day before departure to check. Limited in peak season.
➤ Pool heating is available on request and at an extra charge. Confirmation and payment must be made at least one week before arrival. The child safety pool fence is complimentary but must be requested before arrival so it can be installed in time.
➤ No smoking inside the villa. Parties and events are not permitted. No pets allowed.
➤ The villa has a working fireplace in the living area. Firewood is not provided and can be purchased locally.

ℹ SEF REQUIREMENTS. By law, Portuguese property owners must report guest details to the immigration authorities (AIMA). We collect these securely via your Rental Valley guide, sent one week before arrival. Please ensure all details are submitted before your arrival date.
