The space
Never go without sunshine in this homely, south west facing villa with a private pool and garden! Casa Gribouille provides small, stylish details which make it feel all the more special.
The villa offers you your own south-west facing private garden and swimming pool as well as an open-air dining area. The sun deck has a charcoal barbecue, sun-loungers and parasols along with views of the Atlantic Ocean and Costa Vicentina National Park. There is also a hard pool cover - perfect if you have little ones whose safety you want to ensure.
The spacious upstairs master bedroom with ensuite bathroom opens onto a large balcony that overlooks the garden and surrounding landscape. In true traditional Portuguese style, the remaining bedrooms are on the ground floor and opens onto the outside patio area.
Casa Gribouille provides sleeps for 6 people with it's 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two large twin bedrooms downstairs and the large, spacious master bedroom upstairs. One room has an ensuite bathroom, one has an ensuite shower room, and another is an en-suite bathroom which is attached to the master bedroom upstairs. There is also an additional WC room.

This home is located at Martinhal, a luxurious getaway with proximity to stunning beaches, great local seafood restaurants and some of the best surfing spots (famous with world-renowned surfers!).

insgesamt ist das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis in Ordnung, nochmal buchen werden wir die Unterkunft allerdings nicht.
Vergleichbare Häuser in der Umgebung bieten einen besseren Service und bessere Ausstattung / Ordnung.

Its facilities are ok, and just that - ok. The house needs maintenance or a wrap up. The current status inside and outside doesn't reflect the image of a Villa. Here and there you stumble upon badly maintained parts, doors, closets, tiles, showers, faucets, covers, chairs, gates, shutters, which are there, but some of them and mostly working, but in bad condition. I think with a maintenance it can get fixed or changed - back to its real beauty.
At present it's not a villa nor you can enjoy a lifestyle you expect from the name or the pictures. It's the details which make it less enjoyable as you feel to call the Agent to get this fixed and that fixed, but thats not your job in your holiday.

However, we were disappointed in the quality of many of the facilities in the house. It is clear the house has not had enough maintenance in the last decade. Every choice the owners have made is clearly based on saving money and choosing the cheapest option. The bedding is fairly low quality, mattresses are old, some are yellow, pillows and blankets all synthetic and very basis. Only soft mattresses, literally everyone over 60 kgs in our company complained of back pain after a while. Some of the beds are missing slats. Kitchen is missing even very basic stuff. Not enough hot water for everyone to take a (short) shower. Appliances kept breaking down and had to be fixed, dishwasher never worked, gate broke down on day 2. When we called customer support they said we were the first people to complain about the beds. As I am writing this review I see that other guests have complained about this too, wonder why stuff like this does not get resolved and if these reviews are even read.
All in all, I would recommend if you don't mind missing some basic features to your house and can sleep on any kind of bed. It really is a in a beautiful location and the house itself (not the facilities) is a great place. Personally I think we are going to rent a different property in the future.

However there are some issues that need attention in order to make this property five star . The beds really do need replacing a comfortable nights sleep on holiday is a must , new pillows needed too. The dishwasher had no salt or rinse aid this makes using it difficult as the crockery is not clean . Some fly screens need replacing and the plug does not stop the water draining from the sink . These are little things that would really make a difference.
We would love to return to Casa Griboulle in the future.

Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber/Verwalter war ausgezeichnet.
Achtung in der Hochsaison können die Einrichtungen und Restaurants vom Martinhal Resort nur sehr beschränkt genutzt werden (SPA geht gegen Bezahlung)

However, it felt like the house was being opened for the first time in the season. It was very dusty which caused some bad allergy responses. The house is pretty dated - old and stained crockery etc - dusty drawers, and dated interiors. It ain’t luxe - but it’s comfortable and spacious, a very short walk to a gorgeous beach, restaurant and Sagres town.
The team who manage the property were very responsive.
