The neighborhood
Burgau is a quiet fishing village, situated between Lagos and Sagres. Sheltered from the wind by the cliffs on a small cove is the lovely Praia do Burgau. It is an excellent base for a relaxing beach holidays or exploring the beautiful Western Algarve. It has some amazing restaurants and bars facing the sea, and there are several other beautiful beaches in the area to explore. If your idea of the perfect holiday is to relax in the sun and swim in the sea, this village will provide everything your heart desire.
Three golf courses are within 15 minutes drive, as are many of the Algarve's best surfing beaches. Only 8 kilometres from the historic town of Lagos with its lively nightlife, bustling yacht marina and a huge variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. Other things to do in the area include surfing, fishing, diving, golf, tennis and hiking.
Getting around
Although public transport is available in the area, it is limited. If you really want to explore the area, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier. Free street parking is available all throughout and around town.

The shutters in the bedroom were damaged, missing pieces, which meant they were ineffective at blocking out the very bright street lights.
For the substantial price charged, we expected much better overall.
Communication with the property managers was timely, but there was a lack of taking responsibility for the issues discussed, in particular, the lack of hot water at the property. I had to give a lot of detail with images before I felt listened to. This is my first time giving negative feedback after many years on AirBnB.

The only downside was the toilet flush, which didn’t work at all. That meant that we had to use the toilets of the cafés & restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, it got fixed quite late.
Nevertheless, the communication was easy, the space was clean & the location is absolutely great.

I think the photos of the balcony should be updated to reflect the real view now as there is a new building now built which obscures the sea view which is the real view now and not the view which are shown on the website. Please be truthful with this information. Parking is free but quite hard up get ,obviously we were here in high season so ended up having to park a bit away from the apartment . We didn’t cook so can’t say how the cooking facilities were as we didn’t use the kitchen area .

Die Unterkunft hatte einen keine Wäscheleine/Wäscheständer was ein wenig mühsam war. Der Balkon war ein wenig kleiner als wir ihn uns vorgestellt haben.

Definitely a great location right next to the beach, and no difficulty in finding parking. Great places to eat that we could walk to. The apartment was clean overall with everything listed in the packet we received in an email beforehand, just remember to buy soap for the shower!

There is ongoing construction immediately in front of the unit , which has blocked the sea view from the balcony. It is extremely noisy and dusty, which meant that we didn't have use of the balcony, we couldn't open any windows and we had no quiet downtime in the unit between 8am and 7pm. Note also that the bed is a double bed, not 2 singles. There is a sleeper couch in the lounge.

Viajei para descansar e foi impossível com o barulho das obras desde as 08h00 as 17h00.
A vista já não existe para o mar
E o wi fi é horrível não consegui trabalhar com o WiFi

Lamentablemente el departamento está rodeado por dos obras en construccióna escasos 3mts de distancia.
Los obreros trabajaban de 8 a 19hs, por lo que a las 8am ya había ruidos de martillos, fierros, gritos.
De saberlo de antemano no hubiese reservado.
No pude trabajar remotamente debido al ruido, tampoco dormir más allá de las 8am, ni volver a almorzar.
El ruido es ensordecedodor.

The apartment had different things one might need for a beach (towels, big umbrella, etc.)
It has a kitchen with all amenities which we used to prepare our meals.
The village itself is very peaceful and beautiful, which is much better than staying in Lagos, with good small grocery shops and bakery. There is public transportation in the village to Lagos and other cities, as well as hiking trails.
There was only one disadvantage to the accommodation- the hosts where unresponsive to our messages during our stay.
Overall, this is a very nice accommodation that we enjoyed, although it would be better if communication improved.

The key was not there as mentioned prior to our arrival, but we found it easily.
Only the picture about the house allowed to identify the address.
The appart is nice, well situated, quite and clean. It took a while until I understood that the water heating was not switched on at our arrival. The shower tube was broken, but in a certain position we could use it w/out any issue.
The house is managed by a company, we missed the flexibility and the direct contact ( each time an other person responded), but we got fair and prompt reply.
