The Sagres House - Village Pool Retreat

The space

The Sagres House is a two-storey home with 178m² of living space, set on a quiet residential street a short walk from the centre of Sagres.

On the ground floor, a living room greets you on the right, with a fireplace and TV. Across from it, a separate toilet and the washing machine. Straight ahead, the kitchen opens into a second living and dining area, with doors out to a partly covered terrace holding the dining table and BBQ. From there, steps lead down into the south-facing garden, where the private pool waits.

Upstairs, four bedrooms share the top floor. On the left, a double bedroom opens onto the balcony facing north-west. Next to it, a bedroom with a walk-in closet, TV and ensuite bathroom, also with balcony access. On the right, a second double bedroom sits beside a family bathroom, and next to that, a twin room with two single beds.

In the evening, close the shutters, open the doors instead, and let the day cool down around you.

Guest access

The entire house is yours during your stay.

★ South-facing garden with a private pool (4x8m, heated for an extra fee), sun loungers and a BBQ
★ North-west facing balcony off two of the upstairs bedrooms
★ Fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle, toaster)
★ Fireplace and TV in the ground-floor living room
★ Washing machine
★ Bed linen and towels provided

★ Traditional shutters throughout, to close out the sun or let in the breeze

Guests can park for free directly in front of the house. The garage is reserved for the owner and is not available for guest use.

➤ This home works well for families or a group of up to eight, spread across four bedrooms. The pool is not fenced, though a gate separates the pool area from the rest of the garden, so families with young children should plan for adult supervision around the water.
➤ Kids and babies are welcome. A travel cot and highchair are provided, please let us know when booking so we can have them ready.

The neighborhood

Sagres sits at the far south-western tip of the Algarve, where the Costa Vicentina meets the sea in a scatter of dramatic cliffs. The village itself is small and unhurried, with restaurants, cafes and a couple of small shops, most of it within walking distance of the house.

Praia da Mareta, one of Sagres' best-known beaches, is a short walk from the house along quiet residential streets. It's a wide sandy beach with reliable waves, a draw for surfers and swimmers alike.

The Sagres Fortress sits on the headland above the village, a short walk or drive away, with clifftop paths and Atlantic views. A little further out, the Cabo de São Vicente lighthouse marks the south-westernmost point of mainland Europe, worth the short drive for sunset.

For a full supermarket and a wider choice of restaurants, Lagos is around 30 minutes away by car.

Getting around

A car is recommended to make the most of this part of the Algarve. Public transport to Sagres is limited, with a single bus line connecting to Lagos. Faro Airport is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes by car. Street parking is available directly outside the house.

Other things to note

➤ Check-in time: 16:00-22:00 (late arrival possible in consultation)
➤ Check-out time: before 10:00

➤ Smoking is not permitted inside the property. Smoking is allowed in outdoor areas.

➤ The property does not have air conditioning. Shutters and natural ventilation help manage the heat, and the first floor has underfloor heating for cooler months.

ℹ AIMA REQUIREMENTS. All property owners in Portugal are legally required to report guest information to the Agência para a Integração, Migrações e Asilo (AIMA). A week before arrival, we will send you a link to our AIMA form to complete before your stay. This is a mandatory legal requirement.
