This gorgeous 3 bed family townhouse has been refurbished in 2022. The house combines modern en tasteful interior with comfort an traditionals style at a super central location in the old town of Albufeira. You could, quite literally, step out the house and roll down to the main beach in under 2 minutes. The final cherry on top is the sunny roof terrace, ideal for those balmy summer nights.
The space
Casa dos Sonhos sleeps up to 6 persons with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The house has been tastefully decorated with modern and comfortable furnishings while respecting the style of the traditional Portuguese waterfront accommodations. In a relatively small space, the owners managed to create a bright and airy holiday home, ideal for families with children. All bedrooms are equipped with A/C while the open plan living and dining room receives plenty of fresh air from the adjoining patio. The kitchen is fully equipped. An external staircase leads from the patio to the roof terrace with outdoor dining and lounge set. The ideal place for your morning coffee in the first rays of sun or one of those never ending balmy summer nights with a glass of wine and good company.

The neighborhood
The townhouse is located smack in the middle of old town Albufeira, very close to the beach and just around the corner from lots of restaurants, shops, and bars, and therefore a popular tourist destination. As the house is located along a residential street, you are in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, but still in a quiet and calm location.
Getting around
You can easily get around on foot or use public transport or taxi/uber to travel around town. If you wish to explore the larger Algarve area, a hire car is recommended. Parking in old town Albufeira is challenging, therefore we recommend you to use one of the parking areas like P5 (5 minutes from the house) or (for free) on the outskirts of the city and walk or take a taxi from there.
Other things to note
➤ Check-in time: 16:00-22:00 (late arrival via keybox possible in consultation, phone support might not be available for assistance after 22:00)
➤ Check-out time: before 10am
➤ A/C and reversed A/C heating is available in all bedrooms, not in the living room
➤ The fireplace seen in pictures CAN NOT be used

The issues were first raised mid-stay, along with a picture of a dead cockroach. Upon receiving this, we immediately offered to send our cleaning team to the property to evaluate and resolve the issues. Unfortunately, we were not given the opportunity to assist as the help was declined. We are truly saddened to read this review, especially as we tried to respond promptly to the issues as soon as they were raised.
Regarding the insects, our cleaning team could indeed have addressed the issue, as we have special products to handle this type of situation. After your departure, our team did a thorough inspection of the property, but unfortunately, the presence of cockroaches could not be verified. While we did not receive further proof regarding the cleaning concerns, we were ready to resolve any other issues you encountered, such as the cleanliness of the property and concerns with the bed or windows to ensure that your stay was as comfortable as possible.

We did not receive the lockbox code before our arrival. We arrived late and was not able to contact the property agent for the lockbox code. We had to book into another hotel for the night as we had 2 children travelling with us.

A casa é muito menor do que aparenta nas fotos sendo que em um dos quartos a cama de casal fica tao apertada que nao da para passar por tras. No outro quarto com beliche a cama debaixo do beliche nao da para um adulto sentar sem bater a cabeça. Banheiros otimos e toalhas otimas. Localizacao longe da bagunça mas os quartos voltados para a rua com barulho de carros. Janelas nao sao a prova de som. Antes de chegarmos fomos avisados que a torneira da cozinha estava com vazamento que foi prontamente consertada no dia seguinte mas poderiam ter evitado este incomodo em uma vistoria prévia a nossa chegada.

The kitchen is very small and was a little under furnished, the large pot has a broken handle making it a little dangerous when draining pasta.
The TV channels did not work as the HDMI cable was bent behind the TV causing a bad connection. Communicated with the host the issue and they provided a new cable but it was too large to plug into the connection on the back of the TV. Was informed that they would not address the issue during our stay.
The rooftop barbecue had minimal tools, a fork and tongs and nothing to clean up with despite the requirement to do so.

The living room did not have centralized heating/cooling like the bedrooms did. They did provide 2 heating units which worked ok, but it was still a little chilly at night. There was a basket full of blankets though which we definitely appreciated.
The bathrooms are completely renovated and beautiful, and the towels provided were nice and big and soft.
The only negative was that the power blew out multiple times during our stay. We were able to get it back on right away by flipping the breakers all but one time, and the hosts did their best to be helpful. However, they did say that we were using too many of the big appliances at the same time, which just wasn't true because the power was going out when no appliances were even in use. Luckily this never happened overnight.
Wine and water left for us was nice treat.

Didn't provide essentials like they said they would before we left. Was stuck w no shampoo or bodywash for 2 days..limited hand soap too..took a few days to communicate this across only to say its our responsibility to get. On the last day a bag of some essentials showed up.

This was outside of our normal response hours and we genuinely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delayed response. However, we did respond to your message promptly in the morning, eager to assist in resolving the situation.
Based on the pictures you provided, we noticed the presence of some single ants, but not a significant infestation. Nevertheless, we take any those issue seriously, no matter the size. As part of our efforts to address the problem, we offered to send our team over to investigate further or provide you a compensation for an ant spray for immediate action. Regrettably, all our attempts to assist you were declined by your side, as you expressed your desire to check out immediately.
We want to clarify that our primary goal was to address the ant issue and ensure your comfort during your stay. However, due to the your choice of declining our offered solutions, we were unable to carry out further measures to alleviate the problem. As a result, we regret that we were unable to provide a refund for the affected nights. Please understand that our refund policy allows us to address and resolve issues effectively, but it requires cooperation between both parties.
Regarding the issue of sewage smell in one of the bathrooms, we are deeply sorry for this unpleasant experience. But even this was not mentioned by your side during your stay, so we had no chance to help out again! We assure you that we have taken your feedback seriously, and our maintenance team went to the property but were unable to detect any problem.
Regarding the location of our property, we have received positive feedback from many guests who appreciate the charm and authenticity of the Portuguese architecture. Our listing does mention the location and while we understand that it may have been challenging for you, this aspect has not been raised as an issue by any other guests in the past.
Despite the issues you faced, we would like to emphasize that we value our guests' satisfaction above all else. I am sure this situation was a learning for both parties.
