The neighborhood
Portimão has something to offer for everyone. The main boulevard along Praia da Rocha beach has many restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and clubs. The charming old town boasts many local shops whereas the commercial shopping center is home to two floors of the familiar big shopping names such as H&M and Zara. Portimão and the surrounding towns offer a stunning coastline of beautiful beaches, charming picturesque towns and great tourist facilities topped with almost perfect weather year-round.
You can link up with the main bus service to visit the eastern and western parts of the Algarve. But if you like exploring the surrounding area, we strongly recommend hiring a car. Parking is free at the apartment and in most areas of the Algarve.
The very popular Zoomarine park is just a 15-minute drive away in Guia. You will find two other water parks and the Lagos Zoo about 30 minutes by car from the house.
Getting around
There is public transport available in the area and all around the Algarve. But buses and trains do not go very often and a (rental) car is recommended.
Other things to note
➤ Check-in time: 4 - 9 pm. Late arrivals must be agreed upon before booking! Extra payment at arrival might be required. 9-11pm 30 euros and 11-12pm 50 euros. Check-in after midnight is not possible.
➤ Check-out time: before 10 am
ℹ SEF REQUIREMENTS. All property owners in Portugal have a legal requirement to report tourists’ and guests' information to Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (known short as, SEF). To comply with legal requirements, from a week before arrival we shall send to you a link to our SEF form for you to complete and send back to us prior to your arrival. It is a mandatory requirement.

The kitchen was poorly equipped. Teflon coated frying pans were stained and scratched, there were insufficient cooking pots and bowls, which was corrected on request. The cabinets were new and modern, but, shelves were high and there were no pull handles on the doors making them difficult to open.
A water leak started from the bathroom fan which dripped onto the toilet. Rental Valley was contacted, on 3 separate occasions and took no action to correct.
This eventually led to the electrical breaker tripping out.
Check in was confusing.

Firstly, be prepared for the fact that it is not easy to find the apartment, Google Maps does not support the address, there is no name or numbering on the building, the main point is that they may forget to give you the key to the apartment and not get in touch and you will have to stressfully look for a place to stay for the night, the mood for rest will already be spoiled. They simply forgot about you, and an hour later they remembered you and gave you the keys, forgetting to apologize.
In one day, you will be sent 12 sheets of advice on how to save water, clean your apartment, and sort your garbage, but not a word about how to find the apartment or what is located nearby!
Secondly, do not forget to take soap, shampoo, etc.

Estaba equipado con todo lo necesario y además se encontraba en perfectas condiciones, todo muy nuevo.
Tal cual se ve en las fotos pero en persona todavía mejora. Aunque es "pequeño", para unos días en pareja el tamaño es perfecto.

Regarding the iron and ironing board, we have mentioned in our listing that we do not provide ironing equipment. We apologize if this caused any inconvenience during your stay, but this was clearly stated.
Additionally, we now offer welcome packs that include a small amount of essentials like soap, dishwashing detergent, and washing detergent. These are intended to help guests settle in upon arrival. However, for any additional supplies needed beyond the initial pack, we kindly expect guests to purchase those items themselves.
We appreciate your understanding and hope you had a pleasant stay overall. If you have any further questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out.

- Upon check-in, there was still trash left by previous guests, and the bed linen was dirty.
The next day a lady from the rental company came and changed the bed linen to clean ones.
- We couldn't manage to open the window in the bathroom and the ventilation didn't work. However, the next day a worker came, showed us how to open the window. Ventilation wasn't fixed.
- The water during showers was hot for only 3-4 minutes before becoming lightly warm.
- No household stuff provided: in the following days, we had to purchase garbage bags, laundry capsules, dishwasher tablets, soap, coffee capsules etc
- Power outages
In general, the apartment is Ok for a short stay. However, I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't book it for a second time

Tivemos só alguns problemas com a sobrecarga da eletricidade, possivelmente por ter uma potência fraca.
A limpeza das almofadas do sofá e tapetes (sala e wc) podia ser melhor. O quarto impecável, cama e almofadas super confortáveis!

Very comfortable bed and living area, bathroom was pristine and never any issues with hot water etc
Check out was stress-free as you just leave the keys on the table. Overall it was an excellent stay
Only small things - Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner should be included
You must be very precise with your arrival/check in time for the local host, but the customer service team on WhatsApp are very communicative
You must remove all your rubbish from the apartment
