The space

Casa Abraço is a two-level townhouse of 55m² in the village of Ferragudo, on the banks of the river Arade.

You enter via a terrace at the front of the house, facing northwest and catching good sun for much of the day. There is a charcoal BBQ here, with open views over the river.

Step inside to an open living-kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, induction hob, kettle, toaster, and coffee maker, and there is a sofa bed in the living space for a third guest. Air conditioning covers this level. To the left, you will find the bathroom, with a shower and toilet.

Stairs on the left side of the living space lead up to the mezzanine, where the bedroom has a kingsize bed.

Have your coffee on the terrace in the morning, river below and the whole day still ahead of you.

Street parking is available in the village, a short walk from the house.

➤ Casa Abraço works best for couples, or small groups of up to three. The bedroom sits on an open mezzanine reached by an open staircase, so it is not suitable for younger kids. Older children, 10 and up, are welcome.
➤ Air conditioning covers the living and kitchen area on the ground floor. The bedroom on the mezzanine does not have air conditioning.

The neighborhood

Ferragudo is a small whitewashed fishing village on the west bank of the river Arade, facing Portimão and its marina across the water. The historic centre, with its church square and waterfront, is barely 100 metres from the front door, and the village's own grocer and bakery on Rua Primeiro de Maio is close enough for a bread run in flip-flops.

Praia da Angrinha, the village's own river beach, is about 300 metres away, sheltered from the Atlantic swell and better suited to a quiet afternoon than serious swimming. The livelier Praia Grande, with proper sand and safer swimming, is around a kilometre on foot over the headland past the old fort of São João de Arade, roughly 12 to 15 minutes depending on your pace.

For a sundowner without leaving the village, a rooftop restaurant two minutes' walk away looks out over the rooftops toward the river, a good spot to watch the sun go down over Portimão.

Portimão itself, with its supermarkets, weekly market, and wider choice of restaurants and shops, sits directly across the river. There is a seasonal ferry in summer, otherwise it is a short drive around via the bridge.

Getting around

A car is recommended for exploring the wider Algarve, though the village itself is entirely walkable, with a grocer, bakery, and restaurants within a couple of minutes on foot. Faro Airport is around 50 minutes by car, and Lagos around 25 minutes. Public transport from Ferragudo itself is limited, with better bus and train connections from Portimão across the river.

➤ Check-in time: 16:00-22:00 (late arrival possible in consultation)
➤ Check-out time: before 10:00

➤ Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property.
➤ The property sits close to the centre of the village and does receive some ambient noise from the surrounding neighbourhood, including occasional nearby construction work.
➤ A fireplace is present in the living space but is not currently available for guest use.

ℹ SEF REQUIREMENTS. All property owners in Portugal are legally required to report guest information to Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF). A week before arrival, we will send you a link to our SEF form to complete before your stay. This is a mandatory legal requirement.
