The space

Vista das Ondas is a 60m² apartment on the top floor of a condominium in Olhos d'Água, Albufeira, built in 2009.

Just inside the front door, on the left, is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Next to it, the main bedroom has a double bed and its own ensuite bathroom with a bath and toilet, plus direct access to a private balcony facing southwest, set up with two sun loungers.

The second bedroom, with two single beds, sits next door and shares access to a second balcony, this one south-facing, furnished with a table and chairs.

On the other side of the apartment, the open kitchen and living room lead onto the same south-facing balcony, with sea views over the rooftops. Every room has its own air conditioning.

The condominium's landscaped gardens hold a large shared swimming pool with sunbeds, a children's pool, a playground, and a tennis court.

Pull up a chair on the balcony in the evening and watch the light shift over the rooftops toward the water.

The neighborhood

Olhos d'Água is a small Algarve village that has kept its fishing character despite decades of tourism around it. The seafront promenade is lined with cafés and seafood restaurants, and colourful fishing boats are still pulled up on the sand. The beach is known for the freshwater springs that bubble up through the sand at low tide, which gave the village its name ("eyes of water").

Vista das Ondas sits in the Torre da Medronheira area, named after a centuries-old watchtower nearby that once kept watch over this stretch of coast. The beach and village centre are around a kilometre away, walkable or a short drive, with a supermarket close by.

Albufeira, with a wider choice of shops, bars and nightlife, is a few minutes' drive. Praia da Falésia, one of the Algarve's best-known beaches with its orange cliffs, is also within easy reach.

Getting around

A car is recommended to get the most out of this location. Faro Airport is around 30-35 minutes by car. Public transport connects Olhos d'Água to Albufeira and Faro by bus, though services run infrequently, so most guests find a car more practical.
