This homely 3 bed, 2 bath apartment has been renovated in the spring of 2022 and is the perfect getaway for your holiday in Portimão, located near the old town center.
The space
The owners of this traditional Portuguese city apartment have renovated it to modern standards in spring 2022 so you can enjoy this lovely and comfortable apartment for your holidays in Portimão. It is well located, just outside the old town center (15 minutes walking) in a quiet, residential neighbourhood on the west side of Portimão. It sleeps up to 6 persons, is completely private and fully equipped. All rooms have large windows that let in lots of light and the location is easy to get to by car, with lots of free parking space along the street in front.
The apartment has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with bath, one with shower.
Bedroom 1: large double bed
Bedroom 2: 2 single beds, ideal as kids room
Bedroom 3: 2 single beds that can be easily pushed together.
The apartment is located on the quieter west side of Portimão outside the old town center, which is about 15 minutes by foot. The beaches are less than 5 minutes by car, or 30 minutes on foot. A small shopping mall and various large supermarkets are just around the corner as are a wide variety of local bars and restaurants. Also around the corner is a large natural area where you can enjoy a calm stroll when you want to escape the city life.

The neighborhood
Our apartment is located in a residential neighbourhood located to the west of the old town center. The town centre and marina are about 15 minutes walking away, and a small shopping mall and various supermarkets are just around the corner. The big commercial centre and Aqua shopping mall are just 5 minutes by car or about 30 minutes walking from here. From Faro airport, it takes about 40 minutes by car/taxi.
Portimão is a lively and historic beach town. You can find several gorgeous beaches, bars, restaurants and shops, and Portuguese folklore in the small streets of the old town in abundance. When you're done relaxing in the sun, you can choose from many activities in the area, like watersports, boating, hiking (mountain biking), and golfing, at one of the many golf resorts in the area. There is a modern shopping centre available as well.
Although you can easily entertain yourself for some time in Portimão, it is also a perfect central location to explore other towns and beaches and the small mountains and landscapes of the inland Algarve. For such trips a (hire) car is ideal, but you will be able to get around with public transport and guided tours.
Getting around
You can get to the apartment in 50 minutes by car and about 3 hours by public transport from Faro airport. The beach is within walking distance.
If you want to explore the area, a (rental) car will make your life much easier as public transport is limited but it will also get you around. In Portimão town you can easily walk to most of the destinations, or use public transport as well. There are taxis and Ubers available.

Menaje muy completo, habitaciones amplias y una casa confortable.
La maquina de café es una Nespresso. Hay lavadora, horno y fuegos de gas natural. Te dejan un pequeño gel y champú que es de agradecer para un primer momento.
La estancia había sido estupenda hasta nuestra salida... Una pena!!
Me ha parecido una falta de respeto enorme, el trato que hemos recibido por parte de las chicas.
Al salir de la casa a las 9:40 estaban esperando en el rellano. Me he llevado las llaves, para llevar las cosas al coche y volver a la casa y hacer un repaso de que no me he dejado nada,cuál es mi sorpresa?? Que las de la limpieza ya están dentro, he tenido que mirar si me he dejado algo con sus cosas por medio, si la hora de salida es a las 10:00 no entiendo el entrar sin haber dejado la llave. Podría haber dicho que me he dejado el móvil y que al entrar ya no estaba, no? Por qué como no se han esperando a que nos marchemos del todo.... Decepcionante vaya.
Antes de llegar al alojamiento preguntamos si había plancha, nos confirman que si. Pues no había plancha... Informamos de esto al anfitrión, y nos dicen que nos van a buscar una lo antes posible, no nos buscaron nada, Tuvimos que comprar una plancha, ya que teníamos una boda y teníamos que planchar las cosas.
Para tener tanta prisa por limpiar, está todo que limpian lo que ve la suegra....
Lo mejor el comentario de las 2 chicas de la limpieza, que mirara su móvil y sus pertenencias que estaban en la entrada, como si se lo fuésemos a quitar, si se hubiesen esperado a qué saliéramos del todo no tendrían por qué preocuparse.
La cama de la habitación pequeña,son camas de internado, muy muy incómodas.

The good: Very fluffy towels, the living space was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of free parking in a quiet area. The Rental Valley team was very responsive and friendly through the stay.
The needs improvement: Lots of things needed maintenance and made the place feel neglected (clock out of batteries, things falling apart like the metal flap over the toilet roll), very flat pillows.
I think I would have been more forgiving of some of the items, if it didn't feel like we were told to be as frugal as possible, and given less than the average AirBnB. 4 rolls of toilet paper for 5 people over 3 days, and such watered down hand soap it was basically water, and told we had to minimize our footprint (turn off AC if we're not in the room).
Worth noting for other guests, and perhaps feedback for the rental company to improve as well.

Bien situé , Proche de commodités (1 bar et un restaurant à proximité )et plusieurs supermarchés et centres commerciaux ainsi qu’un Mc do accessibles également à pied
Accès facile à l’ autoroute et à la plage
Serviettes de bain de bonne qualité
Les oreillers sont à revoir
La plupart sont plats et inconfortables
Dans une des salles de bains il manque un petit meuble pour poser le nécessaire de toilettes ainsi que des crochets pour suspendre les serviettes

Taras and Joann very good and helpful. We needed some urgent repairs on the washing lines and lightbulbs that needed changing and it was done in 24hrs.
The 2 negatives from my view
1. The beds and couches need to be replaced as they are very lumpy and my daughter had bug bites on her back from sleeping in the double bed
2. Building maintenance is very shoddy. The lights to the apartment in the common area do not work and the path is weed filled and not swept or cleaned.
I mentioned it to Joann and she said it will be taken up with the building people but nothing was done till we left 10days later.

Algumas coisas por arranjar no apartamento (portas de gabinetes, janelas e persianas). Nao havia onde estender a roupa e toalhas (estendal da janela partido). Nao havia varanda. Um pouco longe das praias (mas acessivel com carro).

A limpeza era péssima tinha cabelos por todo lado até nos panos da cozinha , as roupas das camas pareciam nao terem sido mudadas tivemos que as lavar . Pena (dem nada contra a senhora ) que a recepção nao foi muio agradável visita demasiado rapida sem.temppma perguntas tambem por causa da língua.
