The apartment in Santa Luzia was in a wonderful location. Positioned at the edge of town and within walking distance of restaurants, bars, beaches and mini markets. Tavira is a short drive away. The beaches along this stretch of coast were stunning. We enjoyed some amazing walks and they were generally deserted. The apartments’ terrace was perfectly situated with sun from sunrise to sunset. It would have been enhanced if there had been a couple of sun loungers. The bed was super comfy, but sadly the sofas were very uncomfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, and had a dishwasher which was a bonus, but the washing machine was on its last legs, with the water not really draining away and it made a terrible racquet! The hot water was a bit hit and miss too. Probably not a problem in the heat of summer, but in April it was a bit frustrating. Overall though it was a good apartment. Great value for money and in a great location.

Ideal para relaxar, com vista bonita para o campo.
Positive: Casa espaçosa, com muita luz natural e com grande terraço com vista desafogada para a ria e campos agrícolas, em zona muito tranquila de santa luzia, ideal para relaxar. Casa bem equipada e limpa. Quarto principal com colchão muito confortável. Altamente recomendável. Negative: Na casa de banho principal, a pressão da água do chuveiro é fraca e é muito difícil controlar a temperatura da água, ora muito quente, ora muito feia (merece um ajuste, pois no inverno pode ser muito desagradável ter que tomar banho com água fria…). Felizmente existe outra casa de banho onde a água do chuveiro é um pouco melhor controlável.

Not advised when hot in the Algarve
We liked the beds and quality towels and linen. There was a dishwasher not listed. When the TV didn't lose the antenna signal you could watch Spanish TV with audio changed to English when available. The internet was good with the log in details on the router. The views were good and could see most of the surrounding area and some coastline. We stayed in July and August and the heat was intolerable without air-conditioning. There was a lot of late noise from neighbouring properties after midnight making the most of the cooler nights. If the fiesta is on be ready for music till 6am with regular firecrackers along the streets. Being on the northern edge of the town with the gravel roads and gravel car park areas things were very dusty and grubby. Most mornings we were woken by the smell of smoke from what smelled and looked like wood burning from a northerly area. It wasnt close enough to work out what is was. It was the same area and time most mornings. The high aspect came with a downside. The water pressure for the shower regularly went down to zero even when using no other water in the apartment. The gas boiler will only heat the shower if you run the basin tap at the same time. This only when there is enough pressure. The apartment was modern twenty years ago. Now it is a little tired. The shutters are falling apart and sticking causing hazards when walking through doors. The front door key is a little sticky and sometimes needs turning around to get it to work. If the owners stayed here they would quickly install air-conditioning and fix a lot of the worn out and poor working features listed and would at least have a couple of sun loungers on the large balcony not to mention the unstable parasol. Also if you hear what sounds like several freezers going off in the middle of the night above your head they are the air conditioners to other flats fitted above your main bedroom.

Schönes Apartment in der Hauptstadt des Polvo
Positive: Gute Lage des Apartments - etwas abseits und doch mittendrin. Alles ist zu Fuß zu erreichen wie zum Beispiel die Fähre zur Ilha Tavira und viele gute Restaurants. Das Apartment verfügt über eine sehr große Terrasse auf der man gut chillen kann. Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Alles da, was man so braucht. Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Tavira und Olhao sind mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen. Daher klare Empfehlung für Fans dieser Region, die dem Trubel etwas entkommen wollen. Negative: Alles super.

Positive: Muy bien equipada y cómoda. Dos terrazas y camas cómodas. 2 baños y dos sillones cama. El dormitorio individual en la terraza con acristalamiento, un punto. Negative: Da al campo de fútbol y los fines de semana es centro neurálgico del pueblo y sus actividades. El ruido puede ser muy fuerte hasta altas horas de la noche.

so very disappointing
Positive: Well lets start with the positives, there was good space throughout the apartment for 2 of us, the mattress on bed was good. Negative: Where do we start...very unfortunately. I have complained to rental valley from day one. Main problems was there is a gas water heater in the kitchen and a woodburner in lounge (not that we needed the latter) but no smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm...we purchased our own as none was forthcoming from the rental company. There was also a burnt lampshade in the lounge, so fire risk was a distinct worry. The contact Magdalena was very bad at communication, she does the whole lot, clean/set up/manage, but that is not helpful when she is 30 mins away and there is a problem. Like the key for main outer door was broken, and still wasnt fixed by the time we left. We were told to use bbq tools, but there was none. There were chipped mugs/plates which we pointed out to Magdalena, no baking tins for oven, wooden germ filled chopping board. There was no bath plug and when we did get one, the tap does not change to fill a bath, so we had to unscrew the shower head to fill the bath. The toilet seat in one bathroom was full of little cracks, the other toilet seat was too small for the pan so will break before too long. The washing machine was full of smelly water with a bath mat in it, the microwave had chipped paint on interior . The terrace has weeds growing through and a used face mask on the floor. Bedroom & kitchen door unlocked onto a balcony entire time, with no keys, we didnt mind as 2nd floor..but some guests may! Apartment is 2nd floor, no lift, be warned, TV says its flat screen..yes it is, but do not expect anything other that Spanish/Portuguese channels. The 2 latter things were not an issue to us...but may to some guests. Tatty towels/ no bath mat/ one toilet roll in entire apartment/ poorly equipped. Very disappointed. Booking.com have taken on board all our complaints. We asked for a refund of half, but was only offered 165 euros which was approx 2 nights reimbursement. I took over 35 photos within 24 hrs of arrival.

El apartamento está bien. Muy tranquilo. Excesivamente sometido al viento. Si no cierras bien una puerta, suena como un barco... La terraza muy buena. La habitación exterior en la terraza, excesivamente calurosa. La agente que nos recibió llegó hora y media tarde. Y ni siquiera se disculpó. Hay un par de puertas que no cierran, y solo te dan un juego de llaves. La limpieza deja que desear: había telarañas ... en la mesita de estudio junto al baño y en la mesita de la habitación exterior.
