Casa Lia - Village Home with Mezzanine Loft

The space

Casa Lia is a village home spread over two levels, with 90m² of living space in the centre of Budens. The home sleeps 4, up to 6 with children.

Walking in, you step straight into the living and dining room, with stairs on the left leading up to the mezzanine. Straight ahead is a bathroom with bath and toilet, and next to it a bedroom with a queensize bed and a sleeping sofa. The kitchen sits at the back of the home, fully equipped, with a door out to a small private patio with a sink, a barbecue, and a table for two.

Upstairs, the open mezzanine holds two double beds, ready for the rest of the group.

Head out to the patio in the evening, and dinner on the barbecue is only a few steps from the kitchen.

The neighborhood

Budens is a small whitewashed village in the western Algarve, in the parish that also includes the coastal villages of Salema and Burgau. In the village itself there is a supermarket, a couple of restaurants, and a pizzeria.

Praia da Salema, the nearest beach, is around 2.5 km away, about 5 to 7 minutes by car, inside the Costa Vicentina natural park, one of the least developed stretches of coastline in the Algarve.

Lagos, with more shops, a marina, and a wider choice of restaurants, is around 19 km away, about 20 minutes by car.

Getting around

A car is recommended for exploring this stretch of coast. Public transport in Budens is limited. Faro Airport is around 103 km away, about 1 hour 10 minutes by car. Free street parking is available near the property.

Other things to note

➤ Check-in time: 16:00-22:00 (late arrival possible in consultation)
➤ Check-out time: before 10:00

➤ Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property.
➤ There is no air conditioning. The home's thick traditional walls help keep it cool in summer. Two portable heaters and two dehumidifiers are provided for cooler or damp days.

ℹ SEF REQUIREMENTS. All property owners in Portugal are legally required to report guest information to Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF). A week before arrival, we will send you a link to our SEF form to complete before your stay. This is a mandatory legal requirement.
