Step out onto a south-facing balcony and the light off the Atlantic is the first thing you notice. This bright apartment in the heart of Alvor puts you minutes from the beach, the harbour, and the old village, with two shared pools in the complex for the days you never want to leave.
The space
Alvor Arcos Beach is a ground-floor apartment of 70m², plus an 11m² south-facing terrace, set within a complex in the centre of Alvor.
The layout is clean and practical. From the entrance, the first bedroom is immediately to your left, with two single beds and its own shutters for privacy. Directly opposite is a full bathroom with shower and toilet. Further in, the second bedroom has a queensize bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet. Both bedrooms have their own air conditioning unit.
The living and kitchen area runs as one open space. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, and wine glasses. The living area connects directly to the south-facing terrace, as does the ensuite bedroom, with both doors leading to the same balcony.
The apartment sleeps 4 guests. Children from 2 years old are welcome; infants under 2 are also accommodated.
Mornings on that south-facing terrace, with the sun already on the tiles, are the reason to book this one.

Neighbourhood
Alvor is one of the Algarve's most likeable village towns: a proper working harbour at the mouth of a ria estuary, a tangle of cobbled streets in the old centre, and one of the longest beaches on this stretch of coast. It manages to be popular without feeling overwhelmed, and the old quarter around the castle ruins and the church retains genuine character.
Praia de Alvor runs west from the harbour mouth for around three kilometres, backed by dunes and the lagoon of the Alvor estuary. The beach is broad, sheltered from the west, and well suited to families. The boardwalk along the ria is worth an evening walk at low tide.
The village centre has everything you need for a stay: supermarkets, a market square, bakeries, fish restaurants along the harbour front, and a small pharmacy. Portimão, with larger supermarkets, a shopping centre, and the Autódromo do Algarve, is a short drive east. Lagos, with its old town, marina, and boat trips to the sea caves, is around 10 to 15 minutes by car.
Getting around
A car is recommended for this location, particularly if you plan to explore the wider Algarve. Alvor itself is walkable and the beach is reachable on foot, but surrounding towns and beaches are better reached by car. Street parking in the surrounding streets is generally available.
Faro Airport is around 50 minutes by car. Portimão is around 10 minutes. Lagos is around 15 minutes.
